Todd Bowles: “Frustrated” Is A Good Thing
November 11th, 2025Yes, Baker Mayfield is quote “pissed.”
Is everyone on the Tampa Bay roster?
Todd Bowles says they should be.
Bowles was asked on his official team radio show about Mayfield’s expressed frustration with the teams’ shaky execution and poor attention to detail. The head coach expects Mayfield to have company, if the Bucs roster if filled with the kind of players Bowles wants.
“Most of our leaders should be [frustrated]; if you’re not frustrated after a loss, you’re probably in the wrong game,” Bowles said.
“You’re in the wrong game. [Mayfield] is a winner, he wants to win. You get frustrated over the little things that we gotta execute that we know we’ve executed in practice, that we did not execute in the game. We can prepare better and we can play better. So their frustration is well devised ((yes, Bowles said ‘devised’)) and Mayfield should be as well as everybody on his team, including the coaches as well. So we gotta get better from there going forward and we will.”
Earlier in the broadcast, Bowles talked about how he and Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht invest a lot of time into studying player character, practice habits and work ethic before putting them on the roster.
Joe’s very intrigued to see how the Bucs show up in Buffalo, where Sunday’s kickoff forecast is for rain, wind and 43 degree temperatures.

In other words — just a nice November day in Crap-a-lo

If the forecast holds up the rain should be over by gametime.

the good thing is that we havent lost back to back games this season….
another good thing this that the Bills run defense is horrible and the weather may lead you to run the ball more than usual…..
unfortunately the league now knows Grizz will abandon the run game quicker than joe abandoning a warm beer lol in mid July….
We need to have 30+ rushes vs Buffalo!!!!
GO BUCS!!!!

Winning is a good thing. Talking about not having a killer instinct and lacking concentration, making mental errors and the like is not. The team ‘s personality is a reflection of their head coaches. You see good examples in New England, the Rams and even Detroit but quite the opposite in places like Atlanta, and unfortunately, Tampa…..

If you think about it…
Drake Maye is playing MVP level football, our two receivers are rookies with one being a 7th, and we really only lost due to 2 long runs, one of which was stuffed until it broke contain
So all in all a loss sucks obviously, but all things considered, without that 4th down circus catch for a TD and that TD run that was stuffed until it broke contain; we’re doing ok

so what is it that baker and bowles are referring to. who was the breakdown. besides “everything”

I’m not sold on the way they’re picking guys. It seems to be working on offense but you gotta have some a$$holes on defense and honestly on your offensive line. They should still be great character guys off the field but in between the white lines they need to be different. Maybe it’s just my age and remembering the old ways. Lol

I mean, Joe has obsessed over this on the Ira Kaufman pod all of this year. “Detroit is going to be pissed off and take it out on the Bucs” I saw a “Buffalo is going to take their loss out on the Bucs” blog up here.
Here’s to hoping the Bucs are the ones taking out their loss on someone.

Bowles been head coach for to long not to know what the fix is or does he hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

“We have to coach it better. Players have to play better. ”
There’s some major insight right there. I don’t believe Bowles can coach better. He is what he is. His defense is an abomination. Sure the offense is not great right now but at least they have a pretty compelling excuse why. Their missing have their starters. What’s the defense’s excuse? In 2 weeks after we’re 6-5 Todd is going to have to come up with something better than we have to coach it better and the players have to play better.

See no reason why weather should be a factor. I am sure they would rather play in 43 degree weather than 83 and humid.

You watch just about any other teams play, like last night for example, their Defense is flying around making big hits, wrapping up, you know fundamental football.
This defense is constantly trying to figure out how to play, with players that don’t really seem to have their head in the game.
But we’ve got culture dammit.

I dont’t think it is just this last game. Three games in a row that looked like we were just ill prepared. That includes players and coaches. I may have gotten used to the Bucs playing tough hard nosed, smart football and this has not been the case for the last three contests. If not for a great …kicker… it would look alot worse right now.
Go Bucs!

Whether you’re playing pee-wee football or the NFL, 50-yard touchdowns take the wind right out of a team’s sails. What did the Bucs give up, 3 or 4 long scores? Add in the stupid A$$ 4th down play and you can easily see why we lost. Problem is stopping the run has always been our bread & butter. Sunday not so much!

I would be shocked if the Bucs win either of the next two two games. Both Buffalo and the Rams may blow them out. Last Sunday’s game showed a lot about the offense. It appears the offense is in big trouble.
