Running Baker Mayfield Returns

November 16th, 2025

Dual threat again.

Maybe Baker Mayfield is finally healthy from his oblique and knee issues. Regardless, he sure finally looked healthy in Buffalo today.

After not one official rushing attempt in the past three games, Mayfield’s legs were a huge component to this game, a brutal loss in which the offense scored 32 points.

The Bucs actually called a read-option for Mayfield, which he took full advantage of against the Bills. Mayfield scrambled 5 times for 40 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown run. His previous high rushing total this season was 44 yards against the Jets in Week. 3

Joe’s not even thinking about the said final score here. Just seeing Mayfield dangerous again on the ground was a very welcome sight.

Unless the Bucs can get more legitimate receiving weapons on the field, they’ll need every yard they can get from Mayfield’s legs to beat good teams.

That was so cool to see.

  2. Austin Says:

If the panthers win division maybe they fire Bowles 🤞

Can’t handle DEs covering pass catchers anymore

  3. Austin Says:

Baker is the lone bright right now by a mile, and Parrish

  4. Bee Says:

Too bad they didnt run him on that 3rd and 2 and opted to *checks notes* throw to Shep when Tucker had 3 total TDs and Bake had a rushing TD. Awesome.

  5. Oxycondomns Says:

nothing matters when the defense is a sieve and bowles lets his friends coach special teams

  6. Jameis Says:

We looked like crap. The bills lost to the Dolphins last week. We are spiraling. Our coaching is terrible and we couldn’t capitalize on anything today. Anybody that says anything else is a complete fan and loser. We aren’t going anywhere. Nobody cares about pudgy Baker running either when we lose.

  7. Marcus Says:

Tampa needs to start coming up with ways to get their receivers more open. Their play calling is too one dimensional. In this league, a QB who has less than 200 passing yards consistently, normally won’t win a lot of games.

Also, that stat on our TE and the end zone doesn’t surprise me. I like Otton, but he’s not a playmaker.

  8. Pmike Says:

Great to see this offense producing points again

  9. Jameis Says:

They didn’t come until the second half and their average starting field Past the 50 yard line. What an absolute joke. These losers get paid to do this?

  10. Jameis Says:

They didn’t punt is what that was supposed to say. We are a clown car devoid of talent on the defensive side.

  11. VOT Says:

This game was squarely on the HC/DC

32 pts on the road should be an easy win

  12. Rod Munch Says:

Yep, that was very good to see. I’ll take this offensive production, from a points stand point anyways, every week and take my chances.

But stop taking the ball out of the offenses hands when the defense can’t get any stops. You never ever punt on 4th in 2 when you defense is doing absolutely nothing. Who in the world didn’t know that the Bills were going to march right down the field and get a TD. Give yourself a chance to at least stay in the game. Punting was surrendering, and Bowles did that three times today, twice from the Bills 42, and then that awful 4th and 2 punt, and it resulted directly in 14 points for the Bills.

  13. Tye Says:

Kudos to Baker, the offense and Coach Grizzard… They shined today!
Defense gave up points like its Halloween candy!

  14. BucfaninMi Says:

Doesn’t matter. I think most players have checked out. There is a handful that play 60 minutes. That falls on the coach and staff.

  15. OneAndThree Says:

Panthers are about to win and be 6-5.

Perhaps losing the division will be the tipping point.

Bowles is a terrible HC in the worst division in football.

You can’t be a DC genius when the defense is a block of Swiss Cheese.

  16. buc4evr Says:

Shameful team. Bucs will be 6-5 after Stafford destroys them. Then who knows.
Defense is weak and secondary horrible
    ST is a total joke
    WRs can’t catch
Coaching cant get much worse can it?

As always, I vote no confidence for Bowles. The guy is a big joke and a loser. Bucs will never go back to the SB with this clown as HC.

  17. Marcus Says:

    @Jameis
We have talent, just don’t know how to use them properly. Who send their best pass rusher to cover a WR?

The Bucs are literally starting two rookies, and a washed up veteran – there’s a reason WR’s get $20m+ a year. Next man up is not a real thing, it’s a bumper sticker slogan said by low IQ individuals.

  19. Jameis Says:

We are a fake professional team in a fake division full of even worse teams. We are fooling ourselves if we think that we are anything other than mediocre. When we play anybody who has any talent we get killed. If we played the Seahawks again they would beat us by 40.

  20. Jameis Says:

Glad we peaked in week six or seven. Clowns.

  21. ChiBuc Says:

Bucs never wear an opponent down, yet they always look beat down midway thru the third. Got your defensive bias sprinting down field and our opponent pretty much cracks the offensive code by mid 3rd

  22. Jameis Says:

Anybody hearing any more Baker for MVP talk? Didn’t think so.

  23. DBS Says:

Baker and the Offense did their job. They shouldn’t have to score 50 points to win. Time to kick Bowles and ST Coach to the curb.

  24. ModHairKen Says:

    Who cares? They LOST.

    Pathetic.

  25. Mike Johnson Says:

Here we come world..Blazing towards 6-5. And nobody is stopping us.

  26. heyjude Says:

Baker definitely had that moxie going today.

When he was on the bench later on, and the face mask penalty occurred, he put his head down. Felt like what we were all feeling.

  27. SlurpandMunchMyRod Says:

Bowle should be forced to wear a toilet seat around his neck. Bowle will have bling. He can flush himself down the turlet.

  28. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

32 points on the road, you get 3 turnovers, and you lose by double digits. WOW!

  29. DBS Says:

Neil down under. You really think nobody knows your new name?

  30. Matt Hicks Says:

You “fans” need to remember that you’d be in year 3 of a rebuild if not for Baker Mayfield. Spoiled.

  31. Joe g Says:

Playing calling very bad run the ball too many stupid pass plays

Humm… I seem to have heard this scenario in the past, and everyone blamed the QB and not the defense.
