Jason Licht Singles Out Ben Bredeson Return

November 30th, 2025

Bucs GM Jason Licht

The Bucs had big-money edge rusher Haason Reddick return to the lineup today along with electric running back Bucky Irving after long absences.

Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht had another guy in mind before kickoff.

On the official team pregame radio show, Licht acknowledged those big names returning and he expected a boost from Reddick and Irving. But Licht was all about his left guard getting back for the opening whistle after two missed games.

“Low key, I’m very, very really extra excited to have Ben Bredeson back,” Licht said. “He’s kind of the leader of the offensive line group.”

Licht credited Bredeson for dealing with so much as it related to all the shuffling of the offensive line earlier this season.

The Bucs’ line did not have its best day against the Cardinals today, but Bredeson seemed to have a strong effort. Tristan Wirfs and Luke Goedeke had hiccups, and Joe refers to right guard Dan Feeney as the most dangerous man in Tampa, and not in a good way.

Still the line did more than enough to win. Joe can’t hang huge right-in-your-freakin’-hands drops by Chris Godwin and Emeka Egbuka on third downs on the O-line.

Joe would like to see the Bucs give third-string right guard Michael Jordan a sniff at starting for Feeney.

Ya man. Bredeson and was huge in getting to that 20 point plateau. It’s the defense of Warren Sapp after all.

    Super Bowl Baby!

    Positive!

  2. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Say what you will and I know the stats don’t show it….but our Defense looks better with Reddick in the game…..don’t know why, but it does.

Big Win today. Good job Bucs! Much needed Victory Monday tomorrow. I don’t know how but throwing my hat around the living room helped Anthony Nelson make a game winning stop.

Bredeson is the leader of the group???? What????

    Fire Todd

Bucs won, I thought they would lose. I was wrong and admit it. So where is Jeff? They predicted a big loss by Tampa. Still, Bucs shoukd have won by 10 and were lucky the Card kicker got the yips. Take the W and cheer for Seattle next week vs Carolina. ATL is done after losing to the Jets. Joe is right about Feeney, he is the weakest link in the OL.

Feeney is going to cause Baker a serious injury yet. He’s allowed Baker to be slaughter by several different defenders in games he played in this year, today was no different. As for Reddick, I’m not big on any player that decides to give up on plays, yes, that’s plural. Please watch the films. He’s not worth a big pay day. Apparently Eagles n Jets saw his lack of effort. I can’t way for David Walker recovery to play in his first nfl game next season. He’s a human motor that plays with effort, determination, eagerness, n I consider him a head hunter. This guy will not give up on a play. He will hunt u down to the end. Five more games but we now have a team in the Panthers who went from pushovers early in the season to now heavy competitors. They are an example of “Hungry”.

  8. Show Me the TDs Says:

I have to agree with Jason. Bredeson didn’t have a single missed tackle.

  9. D-Mac Says:

He needs to single out Bowles and his pitiful staff.

  10. Rob Says:

Haggard was excellent before he got injured. It appears he’s healthy, so why isn’t he back in a right guard? He was leaps and bounds better than Feeney.

  11. LakelandSteve Says:

They need to do something because if they can’t run the ball and protect Baker any better than that we are toast.

  12. David Says:

Having 4 of the 5 starters back is going to make the O line get better and better as the next few weeks go along, regardless of who is playing RG.

  13. David Says:

He did say Tristan had a “hiccup” today… Where? It sure was not that Phantom holding call that negated a big play. That was a hiccup on the ref, just like the pick/offensive PI on TEZ that negated a touchdown. Both were absolutely horrendous calls.

  14. Football 1 Says:

Yes what is going on with Wirfs?. However, I did see a great play by him get negated by the ref!! That was sad. Interesting that Bredeson is considered the leader by Licht. However, the guy has played his rear off. Nice to have him back. Yes Haggard a much better option than Feeney. He needs to sit down.
Reddick , yes I said last week that his stats may not be all that., but the defense so much better with him in the game. I think other teams must account for him and that opens plays for others on the line .He was missed on the line big ,big time.

  15. Durango 95 Says:

First time I have missed a Bucs game in decades.Yep, decades. Bought a new car instead. Realized it is actually less painful dealing with car salesman than it is watching Todd Bowles football.

  16. Durango 95 Says:

Spent three first round drafts picks on offensive lineman.

Praises a FA OL signing as:

“Low key, I’m very, very really extra excited to have Ben Bredeson back,” Licht said. “He’s kind of the leader of the offensive line group.

Licht hasn’t been this very, very, really, extra excited since he last spoke about Chris Braswell.

How does a grown man speak like

    …Never mind.
