“Hungry” Offensive Line Found 2024 Vibe

November 18th, 2025

Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard.

The pride of Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht, the Bucs’ offensive line, had itself an eye-popping day Sunday in Buffalo.

Sitting at his postgame locker in the not-too-sad Bucs locker room, center Graham Barton reflected on the line’s performance.

The Bucs ran 39 times for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns. Take away Sean Tucker’s 43-yard TD run, and the Bucs still ran for an average of more than 4 yards per carry. And that includes Teddy Bridgewater’s end-of-game kneeldown for a loss. That’s dominance on the ground.

Baker Mayfield was only hit three times as a passer. Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa was neutered for the afternoon.

Despite two backup guards starting, Michael Jordan and Dan Feeney, dudes unemployed in July, the Bucs’ offensive line had a banner day.

“I thought we came out hungry, like I thought we were physical. We did some good things.” Barton said. “That’s what we did to teams a lot last year and we’re trying to get back to that.

“But again, not enough, early in the game in the red zone on that turnover inside the 10 yard line, we got to score there. Obviously a lot of good things [in Buffalo] but not enough.”

Joe talked to someone in the Bucs’ locker room off the record about the resurgence of the offense in Buffalo. The message was clear: don’t underestimate the return of Luke Goedeke after shaking off rust against the Patriots.

Calm down people, everyone runs at will on the Bills. Everyone.

  2. johnnythemoon Says:

Maybe the defense will follow their lead …but hoping to keep the Rams under 40pts

  3. Roscoe Says:

Here’s a scenario staring the Glazers right in the face. Raheem Morris was a rising star and was promoted to head coach before he was ready. He failed and is now failing again. I hope the Bucs don’t destroy Grizzard’s future in the same manner.

“the Bucs’ offensive line, had itself an eye-popping day Sunday in Buffalo.” And yet – the fearless head coach, the one with the new found “killer instinct” doesn’t want to try to get two yards on two carries. Brilliant. Yea – I’m still pissed!

  5. Lightningvinny1 Says:

I had Tucker over yards and 15 carries ,,, a nice boat of money in a loss as Tucker was #2 RB in the betting market but anyone who watched pats game knew he was getting the carries ,,, Not sure how anyone is going to do this weekend against the rams ,,, but you be dang sure I got (on a short week) Marks and Chubb to do the same thing to the Bills Thur (threw in a Josh anytime TD to make it a three way parlay ) Parlays are where the money is at boys

  6. Tucker Says:

Like lee likes to say calm down bills rank last in run defense who doesn’t run buck shot on their defense and bucs still lost so much ado about nothing.
Bills recently held the Chiefs and Carolina to very ho-hum rushing outings and both those team run pretty well.–Joe

  7. 813bucboi Says:

Grizz needs to have a similar game plan vs the Rams….run the ball to keep stafford on the sideline and score 7 not 3…

bowles has to get away from his soft zone and play man..mcvay can win with 4plays if teams lay back and play zone…

    GO BUCS!!!!

  8. Obvious Says:

Gonna need it on Sunday night. Hopefully we get Irving back also.

  9. SlyPirate Says:

    Tykee Smith = Bucs MVP
We should be talking about Tykee. He is having a Pro Bowl year. He’s the best player on the team.

His stats are NUTS. The best in the NFL.
    >11 Passes Defened (Ranks 4th). Everyone above him is a CB.
    >2 Sacks. Tied for 2nd amongst DBs
    >79 Tackles. Tied for 1st amongst DBs

How many times did he make a play in BUF? He was everywhere.

  10. sethery Says:

call him the kool-aid man because Licht gives the O-line that “oh yeah!”

    I’ll see myself out.

  11. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Bucs still -850 to win division ,,,, that’s pretty big considering Carolina is right there ,,, I trust Vegas ,,, Let’s get healthy and go into the playoffs hot

Remember in the offseason when the Joes were so overjoyed when Bowles finally realized you must outscore the opponents to win?

    That sentiment didn’t age well.

Clearly Bowles either forgot or chose to ignore that realization since the bye week.

I’m putting some major coin on the Rams to absolutely humiliate Bowles defense in front of a national audience. 50+ is my conservative estimate.

  13. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“But again, not enough, early in the game in the red zone on that turnover inside the 10 yard line, we got to score there. Obviously a lot of good things [in Buffalo] but not enough.”

Absolutely have to score 7 there, it was a freebie and you don’t get many of those to where you start right inside the 5 yard line. Again, give me a game where our offense and defense are on their best behavior, even if it’s for a half.

I’ll take some semblance of complimentary ball over 1 side playing well one week, then stinking the joint up 2 weeks later in any of the three phases.

We need better team ball, and to do it consistently while there is time left in our schedule to lock our postseason berth up.

Beating the Rams would be HUGE for us, and a needed confidence booster

  14. BucU Says:

Defensively and special teams decisions this organization have made (or not made) starting with extending Bowles for no reason in the offseason to banking on Braswell/Diaby/Reddick and Dennis to name a few to lead this team deep into the playoffs have come back to bite this team in the butt.
The offense on the other hand is the side with all the injuries to star players and yet they’re still respectable considering those issues. Ironic that the one thing the team does well Bowles has little to no input on. You think the Bowles bashing is bad now wait till they get boat raced on Sunday night in LA. You will see no scheme change whatsoever. This guy lives and dies with his outdated, schizophrenic defense. The same issues year after year with this guy.

  15. TampaBayBucFan Says:

Great…we have the offense fixed….now how about the other three phases:

    Defense Special Teams……Coaching

  16. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Our offense is far from fixed, lol still trash on 3rd and in the RZ, one game doesn’t absolve them from criticism and had we not deviated from passing 40 times we may have lost anyway.

Settling for 3 after getting the ball in goal line situation.

    Passes behind WRs.

Expecting Egbuka to catch jumpballs on the back boundary of the endzone, when you got 2 big mf’ers at TE1 & TE2 that you rarely target which makes the efficiency crappy.

The HC oddly not trusting them to convert 2 -3 yards on 3rd/4th downs.

  17. ModHairKen Says:

This is the reality: People are now celebrating stats over score. And getting excited over averaging 4 yards per carry.

How about some stories on how dropping DEs to cover Cook was so smart and clever? Oh wait. It wasn’t. It was stupid.

How about some stories about leaders on Defense? Oh. Sorry. There were none.

How about some stories on how the team’s pride won a game? Hmmm

How about how Diaby and SVD and Braswell are living up to the promises of the coaches this summer?

Maybe Licht is not such a great drafter. Maybe Bowles is not such a great motivator.

Bucs players and coaches: have a modicum of self-respect.

You are as bad as Atlanta. Just with a few more breaks.

  18. Tucker Says:

even so joe the bills rank dead last in run defense so 🤷 just about everyone who desires to run on the bills are very successful. Even the sun shines on a dogs a$$ some days doesnt mean the bucs figured anything out in the run game until there is consistency.

  19. Darin Says:

Joey bosa is neutered every week. Guy can barely walk

  20. Gipper Says:

Mayfield was “hit only three times as a passer” because he did what he has always done since becoming TBB QB in 2023, he ran like hell to get out of harm. Couldn’t do it for three weeks because of injury. Still not close to 100% but on the upswing. Hope that Baker keeps dodging disaster,

  21. Jeff Says:

The defense is so bad this doesn’t even matter. Fire Clueless Todd!
