“Everybody Is Running”

November 5th, 2025

Status unknown.

Joe has reached the point that if Bucs Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin is ready to play, he will be on a football field just before kickoff.

Until then, let Joe sleep.

Today, Bucs coach Todd Bowles addressed Chris Godwin’s mysterious fibula injury. A little. Bowles doesn’t like talking about player injuries. So Bowles offers morsels just thick enough to ask more questions.

What’s up with Godwin? Bowles had a vague answer.

“Everybody is running,” Bowles said.

OK, but what about playing football? Well, Bowles said, running is not playing football.

“It’s just a matter of them getting ready to play,” Bowles said of injured Bucs players running.

Not only is Godwin in this boat, so too is Bucky Irving and Haason Reddick. Running doesn’t mean playing.

So will Godwin, Irving or Reddick be wearing a Bucs uniform and be ready to play on Sunday? To be determined, Bowles said.

    All positives!!!!

    GO BUCS

  2. PSL Bob Says:

If I had to pick, I’d rather Bucky be back on the field the soonest. We need a shot in the arm for our running game. I wouldn’t totally be bummed if both sit out one more week and then are back for the Buffalo game. We need both to be healthy for the end stretch run and playoffs. Don’t want them to reinjure themselves and miss the playoffs.

  3. Gipper Says:

Really need Goedeke back and somebody/anybody who wants a great opportunity at RG.

PSL Bob…… I’m with u my man we need bucky back like yesterday

  5. buc4evr Says:

Bucs just signed the pride of Paw Paw Michigan. Karsen Barnhart to the practice Squad. A Guard that went to Michigan during National Championship and played for the Chargers.

  6. SlyPirate Says:

    HERE’S A QUESTION

When do guys do the minimum to just collect a check? Imagine you’re Godwin. You loved football but you’ve got the money and a ring. Now your body just hurts. You have a big contract so you have to do “something” to keep the money flowing.

I don’t doubt that Godwin loves/loved football. At some point, constant pain gets the better of you mentally. I’m feeling that from CG. He’s done.

  7. Cosmo Says:

SlyPirate- nah dude. That ain’t Godwin. You can’t even feel anything from Godwin because you haven’t been seeing him, so there is no chance you can feel that he’s doing the bare minimum to keep his paycheck. I’ve got no doubt in my mind that Godwin is working his ass off to getting back to playing football.

I’ve been in the building and I’ve seen it. Read his players tribune article and rethink saying this absolute nonsense.

  8. Woodman Says:

Mark the tape on Sly just another doubter I am betting on Godwin.

  9. Anon Says:

Bucky has a chronic toe and is tiny. I always said the day they make him the starter will be the day they ended his career and it’s looking that way.

  10. jimmy Says:

bucky played the whole game against the eagles. he took a beating but he finished.

the run game sucks this year. yea yea injuries cry me a river. not sure what the todd means by everybody is running. another lame brain comment. what else did everyone do at one buc place today. burp? fart? who cares. get the run game going.

  11. Les Says:

GODWIN WAS HAVING A BANNER YEAR BEFORE INJURY. LEADING ALL RECIEVERS .so there’s that .

  12. cmurda Says:

    100% Gipper and 100% Cosmo.

  13. Godlovesbucs Says:

Anon- dont think there is enough evidence to show that. His first 4 games he had 22.5 touches per game.
Last year his last 5 games he had 21.8 (minus the raiders game).

His use didn’t really go up from the end of last year to the beginning of this year. Now if he misses 4 games a season ever year then you may be on to something, but way too early to say he cannot be a 20+ touch per game back.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, if everyone is running, that means knees and hammies are healed up!

  15. BucsFan81 Says:

Just looked at the TV Map and I live in Orlando and we don’t get this game this week we get the Jaguars again. So sick of the Jaguars. The only people getting the Bucs Game in Florida this week are the local people in Tampa. Don’t worry though the people in California some how get the Bucs game this week but 90 percent of Florida does not.

  16. firethecannons Says:

I’ve already written off Godwin for this season. It was a bad move by the Bucs to resign him but whatever. We need to move on, this guy will show up when he shows up, meanwhile we move forward with who we have. Lets focus on Egbuka, Tez and the other Johnson and use White as a wideout more often, lets use our TE’s as well.

  17. Aqualung Says:

Bucs training and medical, world’s finest.

    The Tampa Bay Hamstrings.

  18. SC Bucs fan Says:

The idea that Godwin is a slacker because he can’t run and cut on a leg that sustained a horrible injury last year makes me chuckle and realize how dim some posters are. Like McMillan is a slacker because he won’t take off his neck brace.

  19. FrontFour Says:

Suggesting Chris is a slacker is just stupid. Questioning whether his career is finished, well, that’s a legitimate question.

  20. GoneGator Says:

Positive development. Wouldn’t know it from the turd hunters but that’s expected 😞

Hard to believe people wanting to write Chris off because he’s not back yet after a horrendous injury and an off day in his one game back. Some of y’all act like it’s your money the glazers are spending 🤣

  21. ElioT Says:

I love Chris Godwin, he’s a beast… but I wouldn’t bet on him coming back to form.

Too many lower body injuries for a WR of his age and reliance on explosion and physicality.

Bucs took a gamble and it’s not worked out.

Sucks, but it’s the way she goes.
