    Good news

  2. Mhystc Says:

Good news for now. But if he plays against Arizona, there’s a chance he can make it worse. But we might need him to depending on the panthers game.

  3. Todd Bowles fan club Says:

50% Baker is better than Pond water boy.

  4. FortMyersDave Says:

He will play. Baker with 1 arm better than Bridgewater. The D is the issue. Brissett to his TE and Harrison until Bowles stops them.

  5. OneAndThree Says:

    Fire Bowles now!!!

  6. stucbuc Says:

Joe are you removing people’s comments

  7. Scotty Mack Says:

Although I would rather have Baker resting, we are up the creek with Bridgewater and would be even worse if we had Trask still. If he can play, you have to play him at this critical juncture of the season.

Too bad the Bucs don’t have someone like Flacco or Brissett waiting in the wings. Paying an extra 4-6 million for a reliable backup that might never be used seems far wiser than relying on hope that Baker can make it through a season unscathed. Looking around the NFL the past several years shows that the odds are pretty good your #1 QB is going to go down at some point during any given season.

  8. LakelandSteve Says:

Even with Baker playing, Arizona has been in almost every ballgame and are extremely competitive. It’s going to take the defense playing winning football until we get the offense back on track. The way our defense has played the last three games, them turning in a winning performance may be out of the question.

  9. Zwak Says:

Why play any starters we are one and done at best?? CLEAN HOUSE AND LET THE REBUILD BEGIN….

  10. Oxycondomns Says:

he probably would have been able to play if they hadnt called timeout so he could attempt a 70 td pass

  11. Bucs4Ever Says:

    70% Mayfield vs 100% Teddy?

    Teddy is WORTHLESS!!!!!!!

Licht should be fired for signing that stuff as well as Reddick, Godwin, Zyon, etc etc

Licht sucks…time to move on from these crapbags.

  12. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

I would sit Mayfield. If we can’t beat Arizona without him, we are not a playoff team.

  13. TampaBayBucfan Says:

If he wants to play….play him…..this has become a MUST WIN game……even if Carolina loses tonight and next week vs Rams….we don’t want them hanging around….need a cushion.

  14. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Pain management. A couple of skinny margs before kickoff and he will be good to go.

  15. Football 1 Says:

Hi Joe, to be honest I would be shocked if Baker plays Sunday and he probably should rest. Teddy is capable especially if Bucky returns. In all honesty with or with or without out Baker Sunday, I have serious doubts this team with the current defense could beat anybody. Sorry they are just in a sad state. Arizona is competitive and hungry. The Bucs definitely need an overhaul defensively, which I am sure is coming. At this point I have little faith. I think they will lose the division, get swept by Car and Atl. I see 2 wins maybe, The Saints and Miami. That is maybe. I am sure Atl and Counsins can wait to feast on this defense.
The only thing I don’t get is why all the negative Godwin comments. He has been one of the best Bucs ever. He deserves more from the fans.
My guess if their are going to be bright spots with this team, he will be one by season’s end!!.

  16. Football 1 Says:

Sorry the above comment should read. I bet Atl. and Cousins can’t wait to feast.

  17. Kenton Smith Says:

Football 1. I knew what you meant. And your comments, all of them are well reasoned. Great job.

  18. Defense Rules Says:

Baker would be a wounded duck playing this Sunday, and opposing defenses love hunting wounded ducks. If our Bucs can’t beat a terrible 3-8 Cardinals team with Teddy Bridgewater QBing the team, we’d deserve everything that comes after that.

We’ve got Godwin back, and we’re getting Bucky back. Bucs’ offense needs to RUN, RUN and RUN some more, mixing in a few short passes to keep the defense from stacking the box. Our OLine did a commendable job run-blocking to start the game against the Rams, but then Grizz albeit shut them down with some terrible play-calling. Don’t repeat that mistake.

Cards have lost 8-out-of-their-last-9 games, but in only 3 of those losses did their defense give up more than 27 points (31 against the Colts, 44 to the Seahawks & 41 to the 49ers).

The Seahawks game SHOULD be a model to the Bucs. Seahawks beat them 44-22 by (1) running the ball 46 times for 198 yds & 2 TDs; (2) passing the ball only 12 times with 10 complete for 178 yds, 1 TD & 1 INT; (3) sacking Bissett 5 times; (4) controlling the clock for 33:40 TOP. All that despite the Seahawks committing 3 turnovers.

So the Seahawks ran it on 78% of their plays for an average gain of 4.3 YPC. Seahawks did have 2 explosive runs in there (30-yd & 24 yd runs), but other than that the remaining 44 runs were meat-and-potatoes. Steady-Eddy won the day. Start Bridgewater, RUN-RUN-RUN, and let Baker dress but only come in if absolutely necessary.

  19. FortMyersDave Says:

Defense Rules: the Bucs have no pass rush so if they try to sack Brissett, he will wimple throw the ball to McBride and he will probably steamroll SVD or whomever is supposed to cover him. The Bucs just do not have the horses on defense to stop anyone with Bowles’s scheme. s this the fault of Bowles, partly as the guy is simply too stubborn to make adjustments but Jason is accountable too as his draft picks on D are less than stellar overall when you look at how the 1st and 2nd round picks sof the last several drafts have worked out. I agree with you, run Bucky and shove the ball down the Cards’ D but they will put 8 in the box and dare either Baker or Bridgewater to throw it and I doubt either can throw deep as of now. The O is hamstrung as well. There is a reason all the coin in Vegas is going on the Cards, everyone thinks they can win but perhaps it is an anti-Buc trap play. Bucs could win but only if the coaches actually put together a decent plan, not the clown show we saw last night and that is on Bowles!!!!!

  20. Bill in Seminole Says:

The question is can he take a hit without re injuring the shoulder? I say save him for the division games.

  21. Curse of Gruden Says:

    Go get Lane Kiffen.

  22. Love-spiral Says:

Given the choice to play, Mayfield will play is my guess

  23. MadMax Says:

Seasons over under Todd….jeeze just let him heal, at least one game friggin vultures!

  24. Architek Says:

There’s a dark cloud over this team.

  25. Usfbucs Says:

Some of you keep blaming the GM for every player decision without knowing how much input Bowles and Grizzard have.

  26. Outrigger Says:

I agree that we should sit Baker for the next 2 weeks. If we can’t beat the Cards and Saints with Teddy, then we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. Our defense could sure use some reinforcements though. When the hell is Reddick coming back? He’s been out for 5 weeks already. If Dean and him can play Sunday, maybe we’ll be good enough on D to pull out a win.
