Back Injury For Vita Vea

November 13th, 2025

When a 350-pound defensive tackle known for wrestling through double teams has a bad back, that’s not something to brush off.

Vita Vea is in that pirate ship. He landed on yesterday’s injury report with a “back” designation. If the Bucs had a real practice yeterday (they didn’t), Vea would have been limited in his activity, per the report.

Joe suspects Vea will play Sunday in frigid Buffalo, where kickoff temperature is forecast to be 38 degrees. He’s played through foot issues this season. But a giant dude with a back problem on a cold day can be much more challenging that gutting through foot pain after a three-hour flight and a night in a hotel bed.

Vea has had a very strong season but has been quieter the past two games. This back situation bears monitoring.

Another injury to a Buccaneer player?

  2. BucU Says:

    (SHOCKER)

  3. Rod Stewart Says:

This is a lost season in my opinion. A healthy Bucs team had a real shot at the Superbowl but the injuries are continuing to mount and I think we’re looking at 6-5 after the Rams game

  4. Rod Stewart Says:

I do think we make the playoffs but are quickly disposed of in the first round.

  5. BigZ Says:

And thus was why JL needed to make a move at DT before the deadline. Losing KC hurt but VV would be devastating.

  6. Bucccnasty Says:

Reminds me of the season after our Super Bowl back in 2002. Or even the year after our superbowl year in 2020..

  7. Beeej Says:

One player trade doesn’t fix our woes

  8. 813bucboi Says:

we cant afford to lose VV for any length of time….theres no replacing him…

but Ive been impressed with our depth of, Gaines, Simmons and Roberts…

    get healthy big fella!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!

A back injury could be a wide range of levels. Hoping it isn’t that bad and he can play on Sunday. He is our treasured giant!

The expected temp at 38 degrees now! Yikes, we could see snow, maybe lake effect. Highly not, but you never know. Get those heaters by the benches.

  11. Jerseybuc Says:

Get geodke back n bredson is out. Get Godwin back evans goes out. On n on it goes with the injuries this year! Defense is only missing kancey they should be carrying this team right now last week was a joke on D. Four plays over 50 yards come on been the same D for what 8 years or so should not be that many blown assignments

  12. BigBucs Says:

This team will be limping and wheeling to the playoffs if they’re lucky enough not to get passed by the falcons or panthers. Amazing they’ve even managed to get to 6-3 but Baker was healthy for most of those wins.

  13. Ed Says:

GM didn’t make any trades . Now we have more injuries that are very difficult to overcome but still expect wins. That puts a lot of pressure on HC & staff.

  14. Outrigger Says:

This week’s game against Bills is the more winnable of the next 2 games. Both teams should be mad about their performance last week. That being said, I expect us to lose the next 2 and win the 2 after that against the Cardinals and Saints at home. That will put us at 8-5. The key to winning the division will be the 2 games against Carolina and the Thursday nighter against Dirty Birds. We need to win 2 out of those 3.

    We are 6-3.

Are you high or drunk right now?

  16. Lt. Dan Says:

At this point one can only laugh.

  17. KABucs Says:

I remember Rod Stewart back in the day, I’m pretty sure he was high a lot of the time. LOL

Also, Vita should be able to play just fine on Sunday. It should be cold/rainy enough that it’s like having a cold pack on this back all day long. 😆

Jackasserie aside, I hope it’s minor. I have low back issues and can attest to how debilitating it can be. That being said, I’m also not an elite athlete and am 25 years older than him.

  18. Tucker Says:

Do they ever have real practices anymore? Doesn’t look like it maybe they try it out maybe they won’t look lost when it matters

  19. ModHairKen Says:

38 degrees is like Cryotherapy. He will be fine.

  20. Madbuc Says:

Every team has these injury woes and they keep getting worse because of the collective bargaining issue these men dont practice like the players did in years before the CBD. Ask any gym rat if you slow down you can’t keep up. NFL players aren’t as tough as they use to be.

  21. Jeff Says:

Need to clean house with the training staff. Still can’t figure out hamstrings and this team has so many injuries associated with improper maintenance. Does Licht get perks from the Glazers to keep staff costs down? Arians had a massive staff the SB season. Have a feeling the Glazers told light to cut back on expenses.

  22. Brooks Says:

Falling apart. No chance in buffalo

  23. ElioT Says:

    Great news!

    Everything is fine.

  24. Ty Says:

Joe needs a new writing style. Joe cant say “i”. Joe is annoying. I wish I could block Joe and just get regular reporting. But sadly, I’m stuck with Joe Blows.

  25. #99 the big fella Says:

Today’s NFL if you have a hangnail, you have to report it .Back in the day guys played with all kinds of injuries

  26. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Rod Stewart Says:
“This is a lost season in my opinion.”

And that’s what makes a bad fan. We are 6-3. Two tough games remaining, then 6 very easy games. We could easily finish with 12 wins.

How is that a lost season?????

If we win of these next two games, we could win 13 total games.

    🏈 Win the division
    🏈 Make the playoffs
🏈 Get healthier by the playoffs
🏈 Get better by the playoffs so we can compete

None of that is in danger of not happening, so Rod, this season is not lost.

There are other options. You don’t have to come here to find what you want in the style you want.

The Joe gimmick is what made this website so successful. It will never change…because it is actually a perfect gimmick. People remember it, and that is the goal.

I have not seen PR mentioned in years.

Good thing they didn’t have a real practice, they’re still tired from their 7 day vacation.

  29. Mort Says:

    It’s a Bucs Life

  30. Mike Johnson Says:

We need all hands on Deck to beat Buffalo in Buffalo. And our D line gotta find a way to bring mega pressure and get a fre sacks. Hope Bucky is healthy as well. Tough game in the cold and rain.
