Zyon McCollum, Benjamin Morrison Return To Practice

October 16th, 2025

Rookie cornerback Benjamin Morrison.

Good news and bad news on the Buccaneers’ injury report, the first official one of the week.

As Joe wrote earlier, legendary Mike Evans is back on the field, “limited” with his healing hamstring.

Cornerbacks help, however, came with more gusto.

Both Zyon McCollum (thumb) and Benjamin Morrison (hamstring) were full-go in practice.

Lavonte David was limited in practice last week with a knee issue but he played against the 49ers. This week, David remains listed with a knee issue but now he’s also got a banged up rib.

As expected, Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), Chris Godwin (fibula), Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) and guard Luke Haggard (shoulder) did not practice today. None are expected to play on Monday night, but that is subject to change.

    Any word on Mike Jordan?

  2. Saskbucs Says:

Evans and those CBS are huge. If Mike is back, I love our chances. I still don’t understand that game line at 5.5 pts though. What does Vegas know?

I would understand if Lions D was healthy and Branch was in. Considering the Bucs are the #1 ranked team and won in Detroit last year, you would think this would be a 2.5 pt line.

  3. snookman Says:

5.5 pts is probably a way for Vegas to get some money going one way. I excpect the line to shift to -3.5 Detroit closer to game time.

  4. mj Says:

dude: zion parrish awj tykee and the new jamel dean holy cow that is the best db in the nfl!!! i like our chances

  5. Esteban85 Says:

Mike Evans is sorely missed. Can’t wait to see him break out

  6. Gofortheface30 Says:

Saskbucs – nah, lions coming off a loss, Bucs being banged up, +2.5 is kinda crazy imo. If BOTH teams were completely healthy then I’d say that’s a decent number. I do think the line will come down a point to a point and a half tho because a lot of people will take that +5.5 and that’ll swing the number too

  7. ocala Says:

Mike Jordan practiced. I would expect he will start at RG and be placed on the permanent 53-man roster. If that happens Bucs will either need to cut someone or place someone on IR. I would guess that would be Haggard even if his injury were only going to keep him out one or two games.

  8. Gofortheface30 Says:

Snook – agree. I don’t think it’ll go down that much but I could be wrong. I have about a million betting slips week over week that constantly remind me how often I am wrong

  9. Football 1 Says:

Hi Joe you said people that are not expecting to play Monday is subject to change? You have inside information and can’t say? Second then what made you say that?
    Thanks

  12. JA Says:

Bucs get an extra day to file their final injury report. Sunday’s games must be filed by 4 PM on Friday. The Monday night teams are not required to file until Saturday, 24 hours later. Hoping for an expedited healing hammy from #2. Even Questionable is better than OUT!

  13. jimmy Says:

glad mike is almost back or back. morrison is really brittle. does he last a whole game? will he get injured before monday?

  14. J Says:

Im kind of excited to see some more of Tez and Cameron.

  15. Aqualung Says:

Bucs training and medical, just killing it.

  16. buc4evr Says:

would love to see EE back on Monday night if possible. Any updated news on him?

  17. David Says:

Mike & the CBs back is huge!

What is up at right guard? Michael Jordan?

  18. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We may not need Jordan because Carl Nicks’ toe is practically healed.

  19. HopetheBucswin!! Says:

Looks like we should be experts on keeping hamstrings healthy. Since we have years of experience dealing with this. Go Bowles!

  20. IrishTony Says:

Jordan is in play for Monday

  21. IrishTony Says:

I still sense EE could be back if he practices by Saturday

  22. Kidfloflo Says:

Carl Nick’s toe!! That made me lol

  23. GoneGator Says:

Going to need both of these guys against Detroit. Their offense is pretty healthy – we need all hands on deck.

I’d love to see Morrison get a pick – kids so humble, grateful and a hard worker I’m sure.

Remember when he got the call on draft day? He was SO grateful and I think he wants badly to show coach he made a good choice

  24. MadMax Says:

Get back to it, but go easy guys…heal. We’re gonna need you later.

  25. Saskbucs Says:

    @guys talking the line.

It opened 4.5 and early bettors pushed it to 5.5 so Lions were taking the money at -4.5 which still seemed like too much to me considering where these teams are at record and health wise.

Lions coming home off the loss and being motivated I get, they also have the bye the week after so nothing to save it for but hopefully catch a couple of their guys looking ahead.

If Evans plays I assume this line will drop to 3.5 or 4, otherwise it doesn’t make sense to me at all and I can only take it as a bad omen.

  26. Mac Says:

Vegas always knows. I fully expect an L this week. Guessing it’s not pretty based on the line. Remember Bowles and Bakers record on MNF and with a depleted offense I think points will be at a premium for us unfortunately

  27. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Tbbf

    Now THAT was funny 😆

  28. Obvious One Says:

    @Mac

D@mn Mac. You just had to bring it up. …

Well, good news! We’re Busting curses this year and We’re Due to break open a WIN on a Monday night game. This just maybe the Monday night game that changes Everything.. Our chances are Actually ~ VERY GOOD! Especially if we can get to Goff on a fairly consistent bases. “Hope’s” are high for the defense. We’ll KNOW what we’ve got by the end of this game. Did Todd finally do “IT” , or no? Fingers are Crossed!

I also have “A TON” of Confidence in our Offense. Even though we’re missing some advanced weapons, our next man up situation is pretty tight.. We Probably have THE BEST receiver depth in the World… (I’d Bet on that)

  29. MelvinJunior Says:

If it was just 2.5, then everybody would be taking the Lions! They’d be way too ‘heavy’ one way. The overwhelming ‘majority’ of experts/bettors/fans/Super Bowl odds, & etc. ALL view the Lions as ‘the better’ team, AND they are at home. It’s as simple as that.

  30. MelvinJunior Says:

Detroit would still be ‘favorites’ even at RayJay! 💯

  31. Aqualung Says:

As was said early to the retort of a maroon, a 4.5 point dog only wins 35% of the time since 1997.

  32. GenocideD Says:

Riley Dixon personal?? What’s that about?

  33. MelvinJunior Says:

Detroit… +49 point differential on the season. Bucs… +14. Which, is middle of the pack in the league. Too many close games. Too banged-up. Most EVERYBODY is going with DETROIT. Campbell & Goff together, have been 20-8 against the spread, when coming off a Loss. And, “Greeny” took the BUCS (the only on) LoL. He does win some of those!? But, the only reason he does it by this time of the year, is to try to play catch up, since he’s usually so far behind in the standings, it’s HIS only shot,

  34. Jeff Says:

Zyon should sit at least two more games. How is going to tackle anyone with a crippled thumb?

  35. Stpetematt Says:

Detroit is not the better team. We’ve played tougher opponents.
