Tristan Wirfs Was A Monster Today

October 5th, 2025

Tristan Wirfs put a smile on Bucs’ fans’ faces today the way he mauled Seattle defenders.

If Tristan Wirfs is honored yet again with an All-Pro nod at left tackle, all the TV networks would have to do is share one highlight to show what a King Kong-like tackle Wirfs is.

In today’s 38-35 hhhuuugggee win over the Seahawks in their Seattle nest, on Rachaad White’s first rushing touchdown to the left side, Wirfs demonstrated why he is no one to fool with.

Wirfs took out three defenders on that play. First, Wirfs mauled a lineman at the line of scrimmage. Then he bowled over a Seattle defender on the second left. Then he ragdolled a defender on the third level.

All by himself, Wirfs wiped out nearly a third of the Seahawks’ defense.

It was a beautiful thing to watch.

“I think it was on a pin-and-pull,” Wirfs said after he laughed when Joe said he flattened three Seattle defenders on White’s first touchdown. “I was just trying to help guys out in space.

“Yeah, a pin-and-pull is a fun play.”

It sure looked fun. Joe was laughing in the press box how Wirfs manhandled people in the run game.

Joe has always wondered why the Bucs don’t run behind Wirfs more often. Yeah, Joe knows he’s known more as an elite pass blocker. But dang, to see Wirfs toss defenders aside — on a very good defense — maybe the Bucs ought to rethink where they run the ball.

It’s never a bad thing to lean on Wirfs’ blocking ability.

He literally was a bulldozer today in the run game. Best part, he seems to be playing with more attitude and fire this year, not so much the nice guy we have seen in the past.

  6. Cchead Says:

Rachaad has got to be the best pass blocking rb in the league. He saves Bakers ass every time he stays in to block. Unsung hero.

  7. SenileSenior Says:

I have never forgotten that Wirfs could jump out of a swimming pool standing waste deep and land on his feet. What an athlete!

Man for the second time this year, both wins BTW, out of morbid curiosity i checked the in game thread….my lord what a bunch of whiny bitches we have as “FANS”, every other comment is he’s, sucks, he’s stinks, Bowles blows, Licht can’t draft, should have done this or that, and how were never ever gonna win said game….and then light switch time! We win and everyone changes their tune about everything with complete amnesia and no accountability of what they were crying about for 3 hours…it’s comical ill give ya that

  9. TB_MikeB Says:

Best in the game. Still cannot believe he was the 4th tackle off the board

  10. TBBucFan Says:

I didn’t even see White’s stiff arm. Too busy watching the bulldozer in front of him. What a play!

  11. Woodman Says:

Yea I guess that int. by Lavonte didn’t help.

  12. ModHairKen Says:

How can a man that large move so fluidly?

  13. SlyPirate Says:

    That last block!

  14. a-bomb Says:

The last thing in the world a DB wants to see is Mr. Wirfs running towards him at full speed!

  15. SmokyMountainBucsFan Says:

Looked like Moses parting the Red Sea

  16. Patrickbucs Says:

Straight up stud. Brought some stability on an ever shifting line.

  17. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Flo Flo

    Our kick coverage still blows.

  18. David Says:

    Beast!

I think Wirfs is the best player on the team and one of the top 10 players in the league. Even coming off injury, he looks absolutely dominant. So many plays you just see the DE on the ground. I think it’s no coincidence in his second game back that Mayfield had his best passing day by far. The running game has been leaning on him. He is the foundation of the offense. No doubt he’ll be in a gold jacket someday and be unanimously recognized as the best O lineman in Bucs history.

I got two good blocks on the same play once at LT. I saw that and…and…just WOW!
That is incredibly hard to do. Also incredibly rare to see. Many NFL plays try to get an O Lineman on two guys. Many times they can get one and a chip or visa versa but Three? Wow!

    Go Bucs!
