“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Very Much For Real”
October 7th, 2025
Top shelf.
Does the road to the Super Bowl go through Tampa?
Well, Joe isn’t going that far yet. But one of the top NFL writers in the country, firmly entrenched in New England, suggested any team that doesn’t take the Bucs seriously will likely be in for a long afternoon.
The way the Bucs have been playing, especially yesterday lighting up a solid defense, Albert Breer of SI.com believes the Bucs put the NFL on alert.
In the immortal words of Warren Sapp, “Here come the Bucs!”
“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are very much for real,” Breer said. “Ifyou only paid attention to the final score last week against the Eagles, you may have missed it.
“I think they are going to be there at the very end.”
The key for Joe is the Bucs cannot afford too many more injuries. But once this team starts to become healthy, they can beat anyone.

This team has the early season MVP in Baker. Anybody that isn’t a fan of ‘Born Again’ Baker is just a Hater. Boy is the future bright in Tampa. Just wait until this Team gets healthy. Now about that Putrid Pass Defense…. Go Bucs!

Albert Breer … ‘Buccaneers are very much for real. Bucs are in it for the long haul this season.’
Gotta love that folks outside the Tampa Bay area are now starting to appreciate our Bucs. FOUR 4th qtr comebacks in 5 games tend to do that I guess.
These past 2 games against Seattle & Philly have shown a side of the Bucs that I think has been somewhat dormant these past 3 years. Bucs went head-to-head with 2 of the ‘Big Dogs’ … with a banged up roster. Both games were dogfights, and this team didn’t back down one iota. Pulled out 1 victory & almost pulled out the other. Yes Albert, this Bucs team is for real.
Sunday’s game was both beautiful AND ugly all in the same 60 minutes gametime. And I think that’s what made it so much fun (and nerve-wracking of course). Bucs made some mistakes, especially on defense & Special Teams, but we kept consistently overcoming those mistakes, as a TEAM. So did the Seahawks, but time ran out for them. Actually, I prefer to think that the Bucs’ time management was just a tad better.

In my mind, the 49ers game is critical.
Against Seattle, Baker and the boys kept the punt team off the field.
Hoping Special teams cleans up their tackling.
Fingers crossed the D comes up with a play or two.
Can’t wait for Sunday!

Last year the Niners game may have been our lowest point. I believe Mike and Chris and JMac were all sidelined. But we tied it late and they kicked a field goal at the end to walk it off. Frustrating times for sure. Nobody panicked and we finished strong. So we just went out and got better. And we have players who have a bad taste in their mouths now. I think we wash that taste out of our mouths this weekend.

GO BUCS!!!!

I guess he didn’t realize Seattle punted only once. This defense must improve dramatically fit the Bucs to go deep in the playoffs. Don’t see that happening as long as Bowels is the coordinator.

The mauch injury is painful but the Kancey one is the most critical imo.
With the edge not getting home, we really need someone up the middle that can help push the qb out of the pocket. Not having him later in the season sucks.
Hopefully Roberts can develop

This teams lack of pass rushers will be it’s downfall #!!

Obvious … ‘With the edge not getting home, we really need someone up the middle that can help push the qb out of the pocket.’
Might be an over-simplication Obvious, but I think that our our edges ‘don’t get home’ by design most of the time. Priority 1 is stopping the run in TB’s defense, and for the most part we’re very good at that. Containment is just as important as gap control IMO, and I think that’s what our edges have first & foremost in their mind as they rush.
We’ve seen what happens when containment, of either the QB or the RBs, fails. Bucs’ defense has given up a number of ‘explosive plays’ because of exactly that, especially when 1 or more Secondary starters are out (like against Philly & Seattle). Todd tends to play his Secondary in those cases further back, and that leads to a big difference in results. I seriously doubt that TB is gonna change, not unlelss our depth really improves & earns his confidence.

This season of watching the Bucs causes the same tension that I experienced with Tony Dungy and the Bucs – the only difference is back then the scores were 7-10 or 15-14 (like baseball scores) This year Baker is hot but our D steps up @ just the right moment

YEP!!!
Now, if the Bucs had a competent defense, they would be dangerous!
If offense wins championships, Bucs are in a sweet spot…
If defense wins championships, the Bucs NEED the other 3 teams in the division to keep losing just for them to win the NFC South…
October 7th, 2025 at 3:04 pm
Damn right they are for real.
I am worried about this week though. I hope this team is too good for the annual let down spot. 49ers on more rest, Bucs coming off a big win and everyone today is saying look out for the Bucs. Historically, it seems this is a game where Bucs get a lil high on themselves and aren’t ready for another fight but I hope I’m wrong.

Offense wins you games defense wins you championships #!!

This Bucs Team fights Hard. This team is different not the same ole Bucs.
I understand why some are skeptical of the defense. A lot of us including me were traumatized and shell shocked from last years version.
But I see something different in this years version of defense. Injures played a part in the ugly 2nd half on Sunday especially with TBs defensive calls. Not sure what to make of allowing 28 points in the 2nd half obviously it was not good.
Bucs have played a total of 20 quarters of football this season. In over 16 of those quarters I have seen tighter coverage & overall more talented DBs.
With our offense if the Bucs defense can just force 1-2 more punts per game we can go deeper in the playoffs and win more games. I am not saying we are going to win it all but we are getting better.
We will get healthier later in the year and with our new players gaining experience we will win more games. The defense is getting better and I feel that will show later in the season.
We are due to beat the 49’s.
I think the Seahawks game will prove to be a tougher contest than this weeks San Francisco’s game.
Go BUCS

seahawks are top 10 in every offensive stat and top 5 in a few of them. And this was their average yards per play.
I bring that up because if they were ranked low, folks on the board would be telling us. If we won, they would point out how putrid the seahawks offense is. If we lost, they point out how sub-putrid the bucs are.
