Take Care Of The Ball And Bucs Should Win
October 24th, 2025There is a reason the slimy Saints have but one win.
The slimy Saints’ defense can’t stop a cool breeze. You just hate to see it.
How bad is the slimy Saints defense? Well, if the Bucs don’t turn the ball over in Lincoln’s Tomb on Sunday, they should score. Rich Hribar of Sharp Football Analysis dug up numbers on how easy it has been for teams to move the ball on the slimy Saints.
On possessions without a takeaway, the Saints have allowed opponents to score on 51.6% of their drives (26th) with 2.80 points per drive.
To put that in perspective, the slimy Saints allow 26.6 points per game. That’s the sixth-worst in the NFL. Worse than the Jets, even!
So simply put, take care of the ball and the Bucs ought to put points on the board. If the Bucs can hold the vaunted Lions to 24 points, they ought to hold the slimy Saints to 21 points.
Something tells Joe that Rachaad White and Sean Tucker are going to have nice afternoons in the Big Easy on Sunday.

This is the kiss of death. Saints will copy the Lions blueprint. Take advantage of the right side matadors, press the Bucs Smurf receivers and injured Egbuka, dare Baker to throw deep because he won’t have time to,get comfortable and whatever is hurting him is causing him to sail the ball. Y
Meanwhile, Todd will revert to ultra off soft shell turtle cover zero receivers zone and let Spencer Montana Rattler go 39-45 for 270 yards and 2 TDs. This one probably goes Saints 23 Bucs 6.
Welcome to the 2025 Bowles Swoon.

Get an OL on the right side that can block and protect the quarterback and we will win. If they block like they did against Detriot we will lose. It all begins with the OL. It’s just the way it is.

‘If the Bucs can hold the vaunted Lions to 24 points,’
Yeah…. Because when teams jump up 2 scores so quick and easy they give their best effort all 4 quarters… Lions were COASTING the last 3 quarters… Not the best example for the Bucs defense being anything but manipulated by the Lions control!

Dan Campbell left a lot of points on the field on MNF including an idiotic gamble on the 4th down when he had a short field goal. 24 could have easily been 35 or more and once again, Bowles D allowed a score on the opposing team’s opening drive. Slow starts are part of Coach Bowles DNA just like his record in prime-time games as a head coach: 4-10…..

Joe … ‘There is a reason the slimy Saints have but one win. The slimy Saints’ defense can’t stop a cool breeze. The slimy Saints allow 26.6 points per game. That’s the sixth-worst in the NFL.’
Uhhh, the Saints’ offense has only scored 125 points in 7 games Joe … an average of only 17.9 PPG. They’ve only scored 20 or more points TWICE this season, in their 26-14 win against the Giants & in their 26-21 loss to the 49ers. And just for info, their lousy defense generated FIVE takeaways in that win against the Giants. And the overpowering Saints’ offense managed to score a whopping TWO FGs off of those 5 takeaways (although those 6 points ended up being enough to win).
Saints’ defense has been charged with surrendering 186 points in 7 games (26.6 PPG like you noted Joe). Bucs’ defense has surrendered 175 points in 7 games … 25.0 PPG average. We rank #22; Saints rank #27. Not a monstrous difference in terms of results.
What SHOULD be different though between our 2 defenses is that the #27 Saints defense has to face our #13 offense, while our #22 defense gets to face their #29 offense. IF our offense can put up our seson’s average of 25 points this Sunday, and our defense holds the Saints to our season’s average 25 points Sunday, we SHOULD at least tie.

Don’t take them lightly. They still are an NFL team and could come out with a wirj
And Bucs have shown they can come our flat and unprepared. They should win, but don’t take NO lightly.

At least tie? Come on DR. That’s discouraging. 5-2 against 1-6. We aren’t in the best shape to route anyone but if Grizzard and Mayfield don’t find a way to win this game we should all be worried. Mayfield gets the biggest check in the organization for a reason. Division rivals are never a gimme. But franchise QBs playing against teams without franchise QBs have to have their teams winning games like this one. Losing a game like this one would be a gut punch-followed by a kick in the nuts. It would linger.

It feels like if the bucs can score more than the aints they will win

Man, I hate it when Joe talks about how bad or beat up an opponent’s defense is. Seems like that awful defense awakes from the dead when the Bucs arrive in town. Same for offense. A team has a rookie or backup QB, so we should be able to rattle him. Never happens. That terrible QB carves us up. Let’s just go into NO and play our style of football. A good mix of passes and runs and don’t turn the ball over. Let’s just focus on coming out of this game with a W and approach it as if NO has a solid football club.

Psl Bob. Agree. I feel like everytime Joe says things like that things go the other way. I love he is confident for our team but just always seems to backfire. I truly think this is the ultimate recipe for a let down. I will be surprised if we win. 100% will not be a blowout or double digit win.

we are going from playing the best team in the league to the worst team in the league. detroit will be in the sb this year.
spencer likes to throw the ball to the other team. old man kamara is not the same rb he was 100 years ago and the aints defense can’t stop anyone. if we lose this one it would really be pathetic. i say no chance bucs 30 saints 14 bucs d shows up sunday!!

Hey Lunger. What is your agenda? Why do you put time and effort into posting on a site that is about a team you hate? I’m just curious. What drives a wretch like you? It can’t just be too much time on your hands. Maybe your handle is a clue. Are you some miserably e person on life support? Perhaps if you answered this question honestly it would give us all a reason to pity you.

It’s the saints. Throw your stats out the window. This will be a back-alley brawl.

Defense makes a good point. If you go by PS/PA we are an average team. By the end of the season, I think we will prove to be a much better team than that but injuries have had an impact.
So is our 5-2 record just luck? No. 4 of our 7 opponents have 5-2 records. This was achieved by sheer will and a team of selfless players and leaders.

Kenton … ‘At least tie? Come on DR. That’s discouraging.’
Uhhh, the Bucs haven’t tied a game since 1980 Kenton. I obviously need to improve on saying things ‘tongue in cheek’.

Well, Bucs better be prepared for the refs. This is one of those game that a whale (big shot gambler with big money) could clean house if the Aints win. Last time Bucs faced this situation was the Philly defeat. Bucs went up to Seattle, and beat the Seahawks in the next game. Aints ain’t Seattle. Yeah, they’re division rivals in last place. So what? I recall Bucs going up there during the Brees-Cheating Payton Era, and blasting Saints out of the water from the get-go. Bucs were worse than they are now, even with half the team beat up. They know they got screwed ref-wise in Detroit (they were also the weaker team). So, go up there and get even, Tampa Bay!!! And then, thank gawd for the Bye.

It’s easy to overvalue performance trends. Teams are measuring these things better than anyone outside their building can. But any data we can see, they can see. You can rest assured that every team is constantly working on their weaknesses. We don’t have Byron Leftwich anymore, so they know to expect us to attack their weaknesses, and they’re doing all they can to counter it.

Look for Baker to have big bounce back game. Sorta like 4TD’s and high completion percentage.

That’s a nice picture of Joe there! Doesn’t really look-like he’s “smelling” anything, though!?
