Saints Writers Pick Bucs To Win Sunday
October 25th, 2025Joe hates the slimy Saints as much as Baker Mayfield does.
That’s why Sunday’s matchup in New Orleans is a can’t-lose game for the Bucs, their fans, and especially for Todd Bowles.
Joe was reading all about this Saints yesterday and enjoyed the takes from five Saints beat writers of Nola.com, the top news site in New Orleans.
Three of the five writers predicted a two-score victory by Tampa Bay. Longtime scribe Jeff Duncan sees a tight game.
Jeff Duncan (Season record: 4-3)
Bucs 21, Saints 19: Division games are always more competitive than you think going in, and the Bucs are playing without three of their best playmakers because of injuries. After the tough loss in Chicago and Baker Mayfield’s incendiary comments this week, the Saints will be ready to play. I’m just not sure it will be good enough to pull off the upset.
Joe wonders if Duncan heard a lot of locker room rumblings from Saints players this week, unhappy that Mayfield implied the Saints play dirty football.
Regardless, the Bucs have to win. At 1-6 with a substandard quarterback, the slimy Saints beating the Bucs would be the NFL’s biggest upset after the Giants knocking off the Eagles two weeks ago.
Joe hopes the Bucs are locked in to play their first true complete game performance of the season. A repeat of the Bucs trailing in Week 18 to the Saints in Tampa in the fourth quarter last season might get Joe seeking anxiety relief.

Yes, defenitely hope this is not a trap game for the Bucs. These two teams do not like each other and despite what NO’s players say these teams are rivals. Kamera has given the Bucs fits in the past and I am sure the Saints are looking at Kamera vs Dennis early on. Don’t be surprized to see Kamera go the distance early on on a quick pass up the middle or in the flat with Dennis lost on the field. Yes hopefully the Bucs win easy, but not likely the case. The upset with these guys always present, throw out the records.
and stats. The Bucs missing so many on offense may matter in this one. .

I would like to see the Bucs get their act together, and all 3 parts of the team play their A game. With all the injuries, we haven’t seen a complete game out of them yet. I refuse to take any opponent for granted. Plus, factor in the refs. What I know about NOLA is what my cajun friend has told me. They stink. They’re still a professional football team though. Please play your best, Tampa Bay!! I’m glad Bounty-gate cheater Payton is gone.

A good butt whipping last week will come in handy this week and beyond ,, Baker learned a few things ,,, Grizzz learned to run the ball and be commited ,, Todd learned each team gets 3 time outs per half,,, we should be ready Sunday ,,,’leave it out there on the field and take 7 days off to rest and heal

Yes as a Buccaneers fan I would love to see a blowout in favor of our Bucs. But realistically, how many times have the Bucs blown out the Saints ? I can’t remember one.
I’m sure the Saints have studied the Detroit game film and will take that approach defensively to try and shut Baker down, make him have another bad game. I hope our Bucs are prepared for that with a souped up RW1 run game and lots of Baker rolls and a few runs !!
Hopefully EE2 has his best game yet, and SS17 and the two “Johnson’s “ flash some great plays !!
It all comes down to which team has the best, most talented, weapons and whether or not they can be utilized to score points !! We all know whose weapons are the best, our Bucs of course !!
A Bucs win, depends on our awesome fighter of a quarterback, Baker Mayfield, being well protected and having a great game !!
I Believe in our Buccaneers!!
Go Bucs !! Beat the Saints !!

Todd will have the Bucs ready for a nap before kickoff. Masterful preparation.
After big plays by Detroit and all the rushing yards allowed last week, Todd will triple down on soft shell turtle, cover empty and deep no receivers zones and let Rattler throw for 85% completion percentage and 270 yards, 3 TDs. At least the offense will make the Detroit game seem like a good offensive performance. This game is an obvious trap. Todd never dominates a weaker opponent, always plays down to the level of the competition. Tomorrow he will have his team ready to sink to a new low.

This is a big game for the Bucs! They need every W they can get! This one won’t be easy. If they play hard and not soft they will be alright! Don’t beat yourself!!!! Get it done!!!

This game just got more important with Kirk Cousins starting for the Falcons this weekend.

Coming off of a loss, in embarrassing fashion against a division opponent whom you hate – does not qualify as a trap game….

Don’t matter who picks us. Just because the Saints are 1-6 does not mean anything. At home they are desperate. They will go all out to try and win. We had better be ready.

It’s a divisional game, it’s on the road, and this is the Saints Super Bowl. I think the Bucs win this, they had better win it, but I don’t see an easy W.
The Saints aren’t a good team, but they are a team that plays hard and isn’t going to quit like they did last year when the Bucs went to New Orleans. They lack talent overall, but they’re also a pain in the rear and have been sticking around in a lot of games and giving teams a hard time. Also keep in mind the last time these two played back in January, the Bucs needed 14 points in the 4th quarter to get the W.

BUCS WILL WIN!!!! BANK IT!!! The Bucs have been in this position & before & know exactly what’s at stake. 6-2 at the break feels way better than 5-3 . The saints will be a hard out for he Bucs but the better team will prevail. BUCS 31 ain’ts 17
