Rookie Of The Month Honor Goes To Emeka Egbuka
October 2nd, 2025
Joe was excited 12 years ago when quarterback Mike Glennon was named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month.
In a season with few smiles, it was something to help keep Joe from feeling like a loser wearing a Bucs t-shirt in Winn-Dixie.
The latest NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month, Bucs receiver Emeka Egbuka, is a different animal than Glennon. He’s the real deal. So it’s no surprise Egbuka was graced with the esteemed September honor this week.
Egbuka’s four games in September returned 18 catches for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns. It’s a wild pace that would rock the NFL if he can keep it going all season.
One who dabbles in what-ifs might say the Bucs would be winless now without their prized rookie.

Well deserved…helluva draft pick!

Egbuka has been clutch! No doubt!
But, if you are going to “What if” us, what if the Bucs had spent a couple of picks from next year’s draft to go back into the first round to take Jihaad Campbell?
Then, the Bucs would have both the offensive and defensive rookies of the month.
The Bucs would have won the first three games by two scores with Dennis not giving away big plays and Campbell making big plays.
The Bucs would be 4-0 and NFC Championship favorites because Campbell would not have intercepted Baker in the end zone late in the Eagles game and instead would have been feasting on Jalen Hurts.
What if?

With the highest rated defensive players taken before our pick at #19, taking Egbuka was a no brainer to me. He was the real deal at Ohio State and he’s the real deal now. Licht & Bowles nailed that pick!

Glennon. LOL. More successful than Trask and Glennon sucked.

So we passed on a healthy lock down corner and got an unneeded WR instead.

The Bucs used a first round pick on a WR who will probably be the Bucs #3 WR and may not have a ceiling higher than #2 WR.

It’s a good start on his way to rookie of the year.

Yeah I called this from the moment he was selected. I watched him all last year at Ohio State and knew he was special. He was my number 1 with a bullet receiver in the draft. So many talking heads and fans were shocked and said they should have went defense, blah blah blah. I knew immediately he was the guy for us, just like I said Godwin was the steal of the draft when we selected him too. Look it up. It’s all there in the comments. Well deserved award for a stud player.

Good choice and well deserved! Buka is the real deal.
Mike got a TD his rookie year with Glennon. Mike always there for the QBs.

Well deserved! 🙂 Congratulations Emeka!!
Thankfully, he appears to be a lot like Mike and Chris.
He keeps his head down and doesn’t let it get inflated; instead letting his performance do the talking.
I was one of the folks who scratched her head when we picked him at #19 overall. I thought we should have taken a defensive player.
Looking back, I think Jason and Coach Bowles knew back in April that Chris wasn’t going to be ready to start the season in week 1.
It turned out to be a smart move that’s paid off.
Good for Emeka!

Emeka deserves it. Thank the Lord we drafted him. Jihad would not have been a miss by any means but our defense has played well and without EE, we’re not 3-1. Now to fix special teams kick/punt blocking
Geno711… LOL
Keeping receipts. The trolls & nega-fans know it all… they think.
