Lots Of Movement On Tampa Bay Injury List, And An Addition
October 23rd, 2025
Seventeen active players are listed with injuries on the Buccaneers’ official Thursday report.
It’s all below.
Just like yesterday, the Bucs didn’t have a real practice today, only a walk-through. So the injury report represents players’ statuses if there was a practice.
Not practicing today was Vita Vea, who appeared with a foot injury. This reminds Joe of Vea’s mysterious foot injury before opening day. “Something he woke up with,” is how Bowles decribed it.
Still out are Teddy Bridgewater (teeth), Chris Godwin (fibula), Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder), Haason Reddick (ankle, knee).
Joe’s got an eye on guard Luke Haggard, who was upgrade to limited. Joe misses Haggard at right guard. Antoine Winfield has a “toe” and was limited.

That’s some list. Hopefully we don’t need everybody to beat the Saints. Am attending the NE game after the bye. Be nice to see a lot of these players back.

Fire all NFL training/rehab staff…….it is absolutely unacceptable why all these players across the NFL has unprecedented amount of injuries for this season………something needs to be done

Look, I get that recovery time is tough to predict. But with Bucky being confirmed as out again this week, that marks 4 weeks. Why no IR designation? Roster spots are becoming a precious thing with the looks of the latest list.

People that say fire all training staff etc are absolutely clueless and I’d go a step further and say they’ve likely never played real competitive sports beyond 8 years old little league

The players have gotten so big and fast.
Their joints were not designed to handle the torque.
I worry how long football as we know it will be around.
Weight limits may be the answer.
Back when DT were 260 and OT were 275, injuries were not like this.

Also we need to get rid of the hitting, it’s very mean to hit people. Also there should be rules that allow players to wear dresses, the NFL needs to be more inclusive.

@Rod breaking out the manly macho act again. Let these guys cripple themselves cause you want to be entertained and insinuate men are less masculine who don’t agree with your 1950s take on sports.
From the guy who had the weakest (least manly) take I’ve ever heard regarding TB12.

I’ve wondered whether or not if Junior has had some kind of turf toe or something, kinda like Charles Woodson, or even Deion toward the ending!? He hasn’t been the same player this year, and I mostly expected him to be. I mean, I knew his 2023 ‘numbers’ overall, would be almost impossible to replicate, but STILL!? Hell, he was ED REED. Now… I couldn’t tell ya WHAT he is. He’s not even, Tykee. As soon as I heard Tykee was moving to safety, I said the Bucs will have THE #1 Safety Duo in the LEAGUE. The problem being, I ‘thought’ Junior would be #1. He is not. Tykee is having the better season thus far, by a MILE. Winfield Junior has been a JAG. It’s been a little bit of a disappointment. I really hope that he can turn it around, cause we’re gonna NEED HIM.

@ Jmarkbuc – I was wondering about him just last weekend, and have still been waiting to hear something on him… Anything!? Crickets. Hell, I was expecting him to play… Thought he was all good now, and was supposed to!? But, haven’t heard a WORD. Not even on the radio (though I haven’t listened a lot, this week).

Woke up with it??? They telling us Vita suffered a “bed injury”??? WTF!!
October 23rd, 2025 at 6:44 pm
Beat the Saints go rest up. Jeez.
October 23rd, 2025 at 6:45 pm
Why you think the NFL is doubling down, and going ‘all-in’ on their FLAG Football League… It ain’t only about the girls. They are preparing for the inevitable. They’ll be ready. LoL
October 23rd, 2025 at 6:52 pm
Folks….there is no conspiracy…..it’s simply bad luck……
What I don’t like is players coming back when they aren’t ready…or going back in the game injured….
Didn’t Luke Goedeke play through an injury and now look at him.
Egbuka should probably not have played Monday night.
Cody Mauch played with a bad knee.
The list goes on and on…….surely these players made their injuries worse by playing.

On a different note, the Bengals LB Logan Wilson is wanting a trade. I don’t know a ton about him, maybe some of the many people from Ohio here know more, but his stats look good and his scouting report shows him being a guy with some speed.
He’s got 11 INTs in his career, so I assume he’s more of a coverage LB, something the Bucs could use — if anything ever happened to David, the Bucs are cooked.
I assume he’d be dirt cheap as the Bengals seem to be phasing him out. Anyways, just an interesting name I hadn’t seen out there before.

Why? He looked good, if Baker is on target, he has a big night.
October 23rd, 2025 at 6:57 pm
Just crazy.

It’s not bad luck; it’s every team.
October 23rd, 2025 at 7:26 pm
All these injuries and owners want more games per season… I still don’t understand why the players haven’t requested a larger roster overall and for the game day roster to be bigger. I’m in California and have gone to see my Bucs when they’re out here. This year I’m waiting to buy tickets simply due to this injury bug. It was great last year watching our Bucs dismantle the Chargers and friends from work telling me they were leaving early in the 4th qrt while the wife and I stayed till the final whistle. LMAO
October 23rd, 2025 at 7:29 pm
Rod … ‘Why? He (Egbuka) looked good, if Baker is on target, he has a big night.’
Rod he was 4-of-12 for 58 yards. Yes Baker was off target on some passes, but half of the passes to Egbuka were deep throws. You & I both know that timing is everything on those deep routes. Baker overthrew both Egbuka & Evans on a bunch of those, and my bet is that Egbuka’s hammy (and Mike’s) kept them from going top speed as Baker’s throws would’ve anticipated. That’s kinda how they practice?

What gets me is no one thinks the Trainer is responsible? This is why it is hard to take organized sports seriously. The most obvious person responsible for injuries is not questioned. What I am shocked by moost professional teams as they are not limited by a money cap for non-players, none of them can get it in their hrads to HIRE THE BEST TRAINER OUT THERE! Duh! Duh! Duh! Duh!
October 23rd, 2025 at 7:45 pm
I want to be excited that RB Josh Williams is listed as full participation, and I am happy that his health has improved.
But, getting a running back on the field again isn’t worth much when the Offensive Coordinator swears off running the football and gives the game away!

October 23rd, 2025 at 8:10 pm
Gonegator- holy hell you sound like a candy ass. Spare me the faux outrage. The players know what they’re getting in to. What do you want to do, legislate every little thing that you define as dangerous? That’s not your call pal, and I hate to break it to you (actually I like it) but some people like the element of danger. Are you oh so concerned about an athletes health when you watch boxing or mma? I bet you cheer your little heart out when someone gets knocked the f out.
October 23rd, 2025 at 8:18 pm
Hope the Bucs arent thinking this is an easy win. I know they are 1-6 but..
One score loss to the Niners ( No shame)
One score loss to the Pats ( no shame)
One score loss to the Cards ( ok this is bad)
Only lost to the Bills by 12
Only lost to the Bears by 12
Only blowout loss was to Seattle
These guys get paid too…

Hey Lawrence, I agree with this 100%
Good to see you around. I’ve got good memories of you from back in the 1990s!

Every type of artificial turf the NFL has used has racked up higher rates of lower extremity injuries than grass.
When a strength trained athlete torques their joints and ligaments with extraordinary power, something must give – the grass, the turf, the ligament or the joint. The one we are suited for by nature is the one that does best by us, and that’s grass.
So, let’s try going back to the future and play all NFL games on grass and see how it goes.
As to Vita Vea’s foot, just waking up with it hurting sounds like plantar fasciitis which is one, bad cruel @#$&&*. Ice it twice a day, wear a compression sock (speacial order?), and sleep in an orthotic that keeps the foot dorsiflexed all night. And, since you have NFL trainers to help, deep massage withultrasound and/or infrared. You will give praise that yes, there is a God.

Looking past the childish snark.. it’s going to be flag football in the near future. The ramp up is not by accident.

Defense Rules – Baker has been mostly good this year, on Monday, he was awful. If it was only timing with e2, that would be one thing, but he as missing everything. e2 looked fine, was getting open, and Baker was flat out missing him.
It’s OK to say Baker had a bad game, and not try to deflect blame on everyone else. Baker should be fine.
Also, if you had no Godwin, no Evans, and no e2, and the refs change the rules so that defenders get INTs on tied receptions, who exactly is Baker have left? e2 was healthy, and could play, and he should play. Same with Mike.

This is the second time Teddy Bridgewater has been on the injury list, the first I’m guessing was tripping over the threshold walking into the practice facility. Bridgewater is incredibly fragile, never understood the signing or fascination.

Thank you for the updated list, Joe. Oh no, Vea!

Now, THAT is a great observation. Sounds dead on. I’ve had that before, over 20-years ago, while in my mid to late 20’s… It always, hit me HARD as soon as I’d wake-up in the mornings. AWFUL. Like, almost screaming in pain. I mean, you couldn’t even lie a sheet over it! Excruciating. I guess, I’ve probably had it happen maybe, about a dozen times, over the course of a couple years. Just Terrible.
