Little Change To Bucs Injury Report; Mike Evans Gets A Day Off
October 17th, 2025
Out
It’s always nice to open a fresh official injury report and not see a surprise affecting the good guys in pewter and red.
Both Zyon McCollum (thumb) and Benjamin Morrison (hamstring) were again full-go in practice today. That’s a beautiful thing. The Bucs defense is healthy minus Calijah Kancey, who is lost for at least the calendar year with pectoral injury.
Lavonte David remains out of practice with knee and rib issues, but it could just be veteran maintenance to get him prepped for Monday night in Detroit. David missed time last week in practice but went the distance Sunday against the 49ers.
Mike Evans (hamstring) got a rest day today after practicing for the first time in weeks on Thursday. Look for him to be active in practice tomorrow.
The rest of the injured Bucs (those on the active roster) highlighted by Emeka Egbuka (hamstring), Chris Godwin (fibula), Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) and guard Luke Haggard (shoulder) again missed practice today. None are expected on the field Monday night.

Obviously, in a perfect world, Chris, Bucky, and Emeka would sit out the next two games, then have the bye and be ready to roll…
That’s a tough three game stretch coming after the bye…

Love the report you gave,Joe, even though some key stars are injured. New guys and older ones play with a lot of heart and that was amazing against SF! Baker is beyond amazing! He is an inspiring leader. Thank you ,Joe for being positive even with so many injuries! I am praying for our players. to heal and actually for all injured players in the nfl to heal..

Time for the Johnson’s to step up.
I’d try to get Kam touches early – he’s still trying to gain confidence.
Hoping Mike is Mike 100%
Let’s go bucs

I know he’s probably chomping at the bit to get back on the field, but I don’t think you bring Evans back until he’s 100%. No sense Godwin-ing him.

I agree about Mike Evans. They should be completely certain Mike is 100% for the Lions game before he is allowed to play. It is not worth risking to lose him for much longer if he is not totally healthy. No one wants to lose that game but it is not worth potentially losing much more if Mike hurts his hamstring even worse by playing him.

They could probably give Lavonte every day off for the rest of the season and he wouldn’t miss a beat. In fact it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. One of the greatest Bucs of all time. Former Blackshirt.
Mark Barron and Doug Martin. He was drafted after both of those players. Yep. Hard to believe. It was that long ago. I watched that draft with a former Cornhusker. Good times.

MomBucsFan, Same here! As much as we love the game it can be very dangerous . We root for them to succeed but I think we should pray for them to stay safe as well as much as possible.

On ME13
Last year the hammy injury in the Baltimore game was deemed more serious.. and he was back after three games, and went the whole way.
Hopefully that’s a good sign.
Man, I’d kill to see CG14 return to form, the Manster is a sight to behold when he’s on…

You guys talk like they just guess when they play the players. They get cleared to play they play is not like they tell Bowles Godwin is a maybe and he still plays him.

This is the NFL and guys play hurt ALL THE TIME. Holding people out is not proven to help or hurt them. It is just a part of the game so roll with who is available. You could hold guys out for after the bye and on the first play they get a season ending injury. Play your best each and every game.
BTW this is for you Ohio State fans, Did Emeka have to set out many games due to injuries or was he pretty durable? Hoping this is just an outlier for him.

from google: Yes, Emeka Egbuka was injured in college, most notably during his junior season in 2023 with an ankle injury that required surgery and caused him to miss three games. He also dealt with other minor injuries throughout his college career, such as a hamstring injury earlier in 2023 and a spring absence mentioned in a July 2023 article.

Cyber and Baker
If you’ve got soft tissue injury like #2 or who knows what with 14 and you can afford them what amounts to a month to get right, mid season, I think you do so.
Not that far fetched.
As for Goedeke broken foot, bone fractures typically take 8 weeks. After the bye would be… 8 weeks.

I must have watched a different WR. I thought he was good, not great.

Who is playing right guard?
Any word on what’s up with Bucky? Is this a lot more serious than we think?

Buccaneer Bonzai – Before his injury in 2024, Godwin was among the NFL leaders in several receiving categories through seven games. He was:
– 1st in receptions (50)
– 2nd in receiving yards (576)
– 3rd in receiving touchdowns
His average of 82.3 receiving yards per game put him on pace for a 1,399-yard season over 17 games, which would have been a new career high.

Bonzai, I would have thought you a more perceptive fan. CGs total game is special. Not just the amazing clutch catches either…

What’s the status of McMillan?

Thank you for the injury report, Joe!
Hope to see Mike back on Monday, only if he is at full capacity. I would hate to see further injury for coming back too soon.
