Haason Reddick Will Not Play Sunday
October 22nd, 2025
Haason Reddick
Buccaneers big-money edge rusher Haason Reddick has a bad ankle and a bad knee and will not play Sunday.
The betting lines have not shifted.
Reddick got hurt Monday night in Detroit. He’s got 1 1/2 sacks on the season and has fallen far behind YaYa Diaby as the Bucs’ top edge rush threat.
Bowles didn’t comment on Reddick’s MRI tests but only said it looks it will “miss time.”
Anthony Nelson is sure to fill in for Reddick in the starting lineup. Nelson has 17 combined tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 2 quarterback hits this season.
On Tuesday, Bowles glowed about Nelson, who was drafted by the Bucs in 2019, praising him for always being the right position and his consistency. Nelson has missed just one game since the start of the 2020 season.

No gas in the tank for this dude. He’s done.

“The betting lines have not shifted”
Hahahahaha…good line Joe. I mean we can’t really call him a bust as a declining vetran, but you nailed his contributions so far with that line!
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:32 pm
He looked gassed after playing the Falcons. I think once you get older it is a lot to get back into shape. That is what happens when you dont play for a year with the Jets

I’m pretty sure I could beat Nelson in a 40-year dash. He’s like a slow version of KJ Britt, just that he’s also a giant so if anyone gets within 6 feet of him he can just throw out his giant arms and drag them down. He also gets some serious non-sense stats because he’ll be 4 feet from a play, but somehow ends up with an arm coming in at the end to give him fake sacks and tackles.
Alright, I don’t dislike Nelson that much, and he’s fine as a backup, but I’ve never got the love some people have for him. He might be in the right place, but it’s more the Battleship mentality of placing a piece before the play and then hoping the offense runs into him.

“The betting lines have not shifted.”
LOl….oh the burn. The subtle ones are the best.
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:34 pm
great so now we are back to last years dumpster fire, but worse
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:36 pm
Haason Reddick?
Does he play for the Bucs?
I heard a rumor that they signed a high dollar pass rush specialist, but I haven’t seen him yet.
Haason The Friendly Ghost?
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:39 pm
Only had 1 1/2 sack he won’t be missed
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:41 pm
Boooooooooo!
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:51 pm
I’d be worried if he contributed. But, he doesn’t, so I’m not.
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:54 pm
Nelson isn’t that slow and he’s also better than Reddick.
October 22nd, 2025 at 1:56 pm
Some poster likened this Lion’s larceny to last years Ravens raping. A very similar feel going in/coming out of those games. Penei Pasta Sewage rolled up on him…I’m sure it was an accident a la leg whip on Baker and full on mugging of Evans.
Having said that…not seeing Reddick show up on the stat sheet will be “normal”.
He was never big and is no longer fast. Taking the year off while pillow fighting the Jets was never a good sign. Near impossible to “turn it back on” in the NFL.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:00 pm
Let’s see braswell please. Dont know what we got because everytime i see him hes dropping into the flats.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:06 pm
I’m with Joe. I’ve said it for a while too. It doesn’t matter who is at OLB/Edge because all Bowles does is drop them into coverage. It’s like until we have a good lead he doesn’t release the hounds on qbs. Which at this point is dumb.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:07 pm
Think of what they could have done with the 14 million instead… swing and a miss but at least it’s only 1 year.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:15 pm
Licht is 0-2 for big off season signings
Reddick & Godwin have been BUST, HUGE BUST
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:23 pm
Nelson needs to take over.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:26 pm
His being absent will improve the defense, should have not taken an injury to get him off the field…………..
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:35 pm
“”Licht is 0-2 for big off season signings
Reddick & Godwin have been BUST, HUGE BUST””
That’s about 32Mil thrown at “hope” in the last off season. You know what Joe always says about hope….
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:38 pm
I have been rooting for Reddick. He has had knee injuries before and hopefully this isn’t really bad. However, Todd doesn’t sound too positive. Time for Nelson to shine!
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:38 pm
Never been a fan of taking a ‘flyer’ on 30+year old players, on the downside of their careers. Not a fan of trying to be cheap on a supposed “discount” either, on an aging player. You wanna go cheap ‘thinking’ it’s a safer bet, versus making the BOLD move, then you’re going to get burned. You get what you pay for. I’d rather save the money, and put myself in a much better position to then POUNCE, when the real opportunity presents itself. Was never a fan of the move, at ALL. Felt-like, it was a move just to be making a move. They rarely, EVER work. Get by with youth… Young, Hungry, & Athletic. Bank the $$$ and assets for a REAL, BIG-move. Cough, cough… Parsons. Instead of a washed-up has-been, who is on the decline.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:38 pm
As much as I love CG14 and what he has done and been for this team, I don’t see him contributing much going forward, next season included. I never had any hope HR would do anything. Their combined salaries are about $34 million. You know who else makes around $34 million on their NEW (not some old deal they are unhappy with) deal? Max Crosby. Which package helps us win more games?
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:47 pm
@ BucU says: “That’s about 32Mil thrown at “hope” in the last off season. You know what Joe always says about hope….”
YES. I meant to add that… “Hope.” Almost outta desperation. And, CHEAP… Or, ‘thinking’ you are/trying to be. But, that’s the problem… It always turns-out being costly, and VERY Expensive. Same goes with players, as in daily life… Oh, you WILL PAY. Eventually.

Was just looking at Bucs’ defensive stats for 2025, and noticed a couple of things that caught me off-guard.
o Bucs leader in Missed Tackles is SirVocea Dennis with 11 (17.5%). In 2nd place though is Lavonte David with 9 (16.1%). Bucs have missed a total of 50 tackles this season (7 per game average), and our 2 starting ILBs have 40% of those. That’s bizarre. And there’s a huge gap to the next guys: 2 players have 4 missed tackles, 3 players have 3 and 4 players have 2. The leading tackler for the Bucs BTW is Tykee Smith with 58 combined (35 solo), and Tykee’s one of those who’s missed 4 tackles.
o Bucs Secondary is doing reasonably well in terms of Completion Percentage Allowed. Dean (41.7%), Morrison (44.4%), Winfield (52.6%), Tykee Smith (61.5%), McCollum (67.6%), Parrish (68.6%) and Vildor (72.7%) together have an average of 60.1% which I think is excellent.
Our ILBs aren’t nearly so fortunate. SVD (90.9%), LVD (77.4%) and Deion Jones (100%) have been targeted 65 times & allowed 55 completions (84.6%). Of course, our ILBs have done over 35% of the blitzing to date, and I’m sure all that factors in somehow (faking blitzes especially).
SVD BTW has also allowed the most passing yards, by far. Through 7 games he’s allowed 455 passing yards, of which 319 yards were YAC. Probably goes a long way in explaining his 17.5% missed tackle rate.
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:52 pm
Nelson did save our season in Carolina….
October 22nd, 2025 at 2:52 pm
Will we notice?
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:04 pm
Nelson needs to start if Reddick doesn’t deliver. Who is going to QB this one? Bridgewater is some fill-in fossil. If Bake is hurt, sit him. This team is going to be pumped up as will the whole franchise. It will be Cardiac Bucs, and defense will carry it to a win. ST will get involved, too. I sure hope Grizzard figures out what he’s got on offense. Go Tampa Bay!!
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:17 pm
That don’t really matter that’s he’s not playing. He really hasn’t played all year yet! The way Vea has been blowing up the middle, he should have multiple sacks by now. Hopefully one of the backups shocks the world this weekend and games to come!
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:21 pm
Armchair GM Joe was pounding the table last year for this guy. Article after article about him.
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:36 pm
If Nelly is starting over your second round pick Braswell, than Braswell is a total bust. So much for the BS hype by Licht, and Bowles about Braswell breaking out this season.
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:36 pm
Has he even played this year??
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:45 pm
his time here so far has been underwhelming, was expecting much more than 1.5 sacks
October 22nd, 2025 at 3:54 pm
Like everyone was really excited about Reddick when signed. lol. Hendrickson or Crosby, no way we have Reddick. lol. I love how Jason and Todd tried to sell his signing. Now Todd says Nelson is our savior. Give me a break, the guy is a backup second level player like Reddick.
When will the Bucs get a legit edge rush? When will the Bucs get a LB that can tackle and hold the edge. No one can do it and Detroit proved it on MNF. Both Nelson and Voss looked stupid on MNF. Hope Jason reads this blog. lol.
October 22nd, 2025 at 4:04 pm
We lost to the Lions. clearly the best team in the NFC at this stage. So what? This is a long season. Our offensive line has been ravaged. We are playing two rookies and a second year player. I’d say the season is a success thus far.
October 22nd, 2025 at 4:07 pm
Nelly needs a shot he can’t be worse than reddick. no Braswell he looks slow and disinterested, can bullock play edge? he is a linebacker

keep him…start nelson, trade for jeffrey simmons
GO BUCS!!!!
October 22nd, 2025 at 4:19 pm
remember folks, Licht signed walking red flag Randy Gregory last year lol…
and he’s signed another walking red flag expecting different results…
helpfully he’s learned his lesson…
GO BUCS!!!!!
October 22nd, 2025 at 4:22 pm
Two words for RedDick: FOOLS GOLD! Unlike his counterparts from other teams, he did absolutely nothing for the team he played for last season. Most players would be completely embarrassed, but he had excuses and we feel for it. Too bad we got burned by potential!
October 22nd, 2025 at 4:29 pm
Super Bowl Seasons both had good if not great pass rushers:
2002 Simeon the Savior, of course Sapp ( but already past his peak ) and underrated Greg Spires
2020: JPP & Shaq…who feasted in that game with VV clogging up the middle much like he does commodes at OBP & Waffle House
YaYa is coming on…missing a Trey Hendrickson type or wildest dream of Mad Maxx…possibly worth the 2 1sts a la Keyshawn.
October 22nd, 2025 at 5:52 pm
At this point I would sign old man Shaq. He can’t be worse that Voss… lol.
October 22nd, 2025 at 6:35 pm
Don’t think we are missing much at this point…. Give the younger guys a look… Unfortunately we need to go out next year and draft a bonified edge rusher, I’m kinda done trading for guys, we need a HIM kinda dude, not that those grow on trees, but can we just get more of a “sure thing”, again not really a given but still, we need someone reliable and can produce on a consistent basis.
October 22nd, 2025 at 6:35 pm
Hasn’t played all season. No loss
October 22nd, 2025 at 6:40 pm
If Bowles glowed about Nelson, who was drafted by the Bucs in 2019, praising him for always being the right position and his consistency
Why signed haason. ? Why not make Nelson a starter ??
