Emeka Egbuka’s Return Home

October 1st, 2025

Red Sunday in the Egbuka family.

Emeka Egbuka had a warning of sorts for his family and friends who are trying to get tickets to the Bucs-Seahawks game Sunday.

His mom may be able to hook you up, but there’s a significant condition.

Egbuka grew up about an hour south of Seattle. It’s still wild to Joe how a young man who grew up in the far northwestern corner of our republic went to school at Ohio State and now plays professionally just about on the polar opposite side of the country.

Welcome to the NFL.

So Egbuka, who grew up a Seattle Mariners fan (don’t ask him specifics about the reigning American League West Division champs, Egbuka confessed he’s been a bit too wrapped up with the Bucs to pay close attention), will have a lot of family and friends at the Bucs-Seahawks game.

Many are going through his mom to get tickets. Egbuka said he let his mom handle all of that.

“I know my mom is renting out a very large section of the stadium and is selling [tickets] to friends and family,” Egbuka said this afternoon at One Buc Palace. “She’s out of tickets, so don’t ask her.”

But by chance, if there were tickets available, Egbuka’s mom has set a very specific condition to get one.

No Bucs gear? No ticket. If someone in the group is not wearing Bucs gear to the game, out you go. No ticket for you!

“I have a lot of Seahawks fans in my family,” Egbuka said. “But they’ve got to wear Bucs gear if they are going to the game.”

After seeing half The Licht House filled with Eagles fans who invaded the place this past Sunday, Egbuka’s mom requiring friends and family to wear Bucs gear to the Bucs-Seahawks game sounds awfully refreshing to Joe.

I bet you they will come through for his mom. Not like in RayJay where Season Ticket holders in Tampa sold their tickets to the opposing team. Not a good look or feel Tampa fans, not a good look or feel.

  5. TrevC Says:

Now if only the Buccaneer season ticket holders had this same energy. But no, they continually sell their tickets to opposing fans…

I would hope so! Nicely done Mrs.Egbuka.

Between that group and the Krewe of 100 heading up there, should be a solid Bucs presence.

Already loving this guy and his family. I would love to see a decent amount of red in Seattle that would be awesome

The amount of Philly green in our stadium was sickening, but not surprising. TB home crowds are weak sauce.

  13. Mike C Says:

Unbelievable, I am a season ticket holder, and travel to away games, TB home crowds are just fine. Problem is the north east A holes who leave whatever crap town they come from, move here and spend the years sports ticket budget on ONE GAME, yeah they are able to price people out.
