Bucs Are Looking Like A Winner

October 12th, 2025

Leader.

Think about it: How many teams could withstand the barrage of injuries the Bucs’ offense has suffered and still be one of the best teams in the NFL.

No Cody Mauch. No Luke Goedeke. No Luke Hazzard. No Mike Evans. No Chris Godwin. No Emeka Egbuka. No Bucky Irving.

Any mortal team would curl up in a ball like a wounded hound, wanting its belly rubbed to forget the hurt.

The Bucs? With that injury-ravaged offense? They score points. They hold the opposition to a mere field goal in the second half.

They win.

This game just blew Joe away.

Lose a Hall of Fame receiver, lose a Pro Bowl receiver, lose a likely Offensive Rookie of the Year? No problem. Just throw bombs to a seventh-round pick like Tez Johnson. Throw touchdowns to a guy many Bucs fans didn’t think should even be on the 53-man roster, Kameron Johnson. Throw passes to a guy that a little over a year ago was watching games on the couch just like you and Joe. That would be Sterling Shepard.

And the Bucs keep winning. Remarkable.

This is likely because the Bucs have a quarterback the rest of the league gave up on. Baker Mayfield has willed this team to winning ways, no different than what the great Tom Brady used to do.

These Bucs are starting to make Joe think it is special. You could build a nucleus of a playoff team with just the guys the Bucs have sidelined with injuries.

What a gutsy, glorious win over a team that has long had a hex on the Bucs.

It’s the middle of October and Joe can smell the playoffs.

Boom! Positive post from Joe after a glorious win. Now I’m happy. Getting ready to watch the game again. What a great win!!

  2. bucsfaninva Says:

    Two thoughts… that 3rd and 14 run for a first down…just O M G wow. Unbelievable!

Then both TD’s to the Johnson and Johnson’s. While I am concerned with the injuries…it’s just amazing to see how Baker just WILLS everyone to win.

Seriously…even the D stepped up afterwards.

    On to the next!

  3. Vinny from NYC Says:

That 14 yard scramble was the game.

  4. James west Says:

Love our offence, Bowels defence scares the hell out of me

  5. Joaquim Valente Says:

The league does NOT want to see the Bucs when we get healthy.

  6. Coconut Doughnut Says:

    This is a winning team!

  7. DBS Says:

And they do it without Baker putting up a 40 burger. After all. Our resident professional says that’s what’s a must every day to win.

  8. Aqualung Says:

Aqualung has very warm warms after this win.

  9. Oldbucsfan Says:

Your forgetting McMillan also. All 4 of our receivers out!

  10. Dom Says:

I’m ready to say Baker is an elite QB. Took that next step of getting better throwing deep and lowering the turnovers. He’s been the best QB this season. MVP!!

  11. SlyPirate Says:

    UNSUNG HEROS

    TEZ
Great route to get behind the DBs and THAT CATCH!!!

    DEVIN WHITE
    He’s running hard.

    ELIJAH KLIEN
Came in for Haggard and didn’t miss a beat.

    JASON LICHT
This team has unreal depth and it doesn’t happen by accident.

  12. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

That catch by Tez Johnson was the best catch in the BFL this year. Surprised not enough people are commenting on it.

    That!

  14. Larrd Says:

There was even a pass rush.

  15. Farmer Says:

Baker has always had great chemistry with fringe receivers who’s names most fans will never remember. On the Browns he had great chemistry with Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Ricky Seals-Jones. At the Rams he had chemistry with Ben Skowronek and Van Jefferson. Baker brings the best out of his WRs, it’s great to see.

  16. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Baker is literally the best QB in the league right now. Guy is balling!

And Tez – you’re my boy Blue!!

  17. Marky mark Says:

Todd Bowles knew Baker was special that weekend they spent together at the meadow lands in spring 2018 for a draft visit. I knew when Baker stepped in for an injured Teddy fourth game 2o18 and led the Browns to their first win in 2 years. That win including catching a halfback pass on a 2 point conversion. Baker is the reason this team is winning.

  18. infomeplease Says:

Great win!!! One game at a time…next man up!!! Get it done!!!!

And what about Johnson and Johnson!!!!

  19. SenileSenior Says:

I kinda get the Bowles critics. Our defense looks bad in the first half and then shows up in the second. I don’t claim to really know what Todd is doing but I like it.

Bucs win! Bucs win! Bucs win!

  20. Bartow Buc Says:

The Buccaneers are a championship football team, period !!

Go Bucs !! Beat the Lions !!

  21. WillS0024 Says:

    Haggard, guys. Haggard.

  22. Megoat13 Says:

I’m sorry but I’m going to say it. Please keep playing at this level, the only team I think that can truly beat the Bucs this season is the Bucs. I hope they keep their heads down and keep grinding and don’t let any justified hype get to their heads. Love the heart baker has shown and how the team has embraced that mentality. Great win and go Bucs!

  23. Alstott40 Says:

I’m in favor of punting next week’s game vs Detroit. Sure, try to win, but keep everyone who is hurt out through the bye week (we can beat saints with our B team)and let them get to 100% instead of forcing them back against a chainsaw of a Lions team.

  24. LANshark Says:

Do not forget we’re missing Morrison and Kancey, and other players on the defense as well.

Aqualung has very warm warms after this win.

    Check your diaper sweetheart.

  26. Kenton Smith Says:

Defense had playmakers making plays all over the field! That sack by Lavonte and that 3rd down run by Baker were the plays of the game. Jones looked like he had had enough walking off the field after Lavonte blitzed him there. If we don’t get some receivers back by next week the defense may need a similar performance. But even though we’re the best team in the league doesn’t mean we aren’t gonna need to be better to remain the best team in the league. Todd and Baker and Lavonte know that. The team is in good hands and injuries heal. We’re getting better. NEXT!

    “TEZ

    DEVIN WHITE

@slyPirate….. You mean Rachaad White running hard… Devin isn’t on the team and was an LB when he was.

Aquaturd has the balls to even comment after all the sh*t he said

    ^^^^^
LAS VEGAS — Linebacker Devin White had an interception and a forced fumble and the Las Vegas Raiders stopped a four-game losing streak by defeating the Tennessee Titans 20-10 on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.

I think you meant Rachaad White.

  31. Buc that Says:

Unreal. Superb play and coaching. Should have beat the iggles too. Hope we put the injury bug behind us.

  32. Falconrap Says:

I’ll say this, Baker has elevated his game big time this year and is very much looking like an MVP. He keeps going like this, he’ll rewrite the book on him and we definitely have a shot at the big game. No complaints from me.

  33. LakelandSteve Says:

Not saying next week will be a real tough game, but next week will be a real tough game. You keep thinking the Bucs can’t take one more injury and still win but somehow they pull it off. Praying they get some guys back soon.

  34. 813bucboi Says:

Aqua eating warm crow tonight lol

    5-1

    GO BUCS

  35. Bucamania Says:

Bucs offense has been Next Man Up every week.

This week is was Tez and Kam. Great win.

“Aquaturd has the balls to even comment after all the sh*t he said”

Not like me to go all Biblical but I believe we welcome AL back just as was revealed in the parable of the Prodigal Son.

My mother hated that parable because she thought it lacked fairness. It bugged her that they killed the fatted calf for the Prodigal and didn’t hold up the solid son instead. Sadly I think she missed the entire point Jesus was trying to make.

    Welcome back A.L.

  37. Ex-Browns02 Says:

My game ball goes to Rachaad. He made sure that SF had to work it’s hardest to get him on the ground. He gained a lot of critical yardage. I was so happy that he was staying with the team despite his demotion. White is truly underrated as a running back (and pass-catcher and blocker)!

  38. Jeff and Jack's grandpa Says:

Great QB’s make average wr’s good

  39. Mveal2006 Says:

Mayfield played great in Cleveland and had national TV ads. He wanted a contract and they passed. It was ridiculous on Clevelands part.

Then his charlotte situation again had a bottom tier owner.
La was better and then bowles finally got some luck with him coming here.
We tried with James but Winston lacked the determination to win at this level.

A good qb is enough to be a winner if yiur owner is solid. Ours is well above average imo.

  40. Funderstruck Says:

JL is such a stud. This is the depth we missed last year. Felt bad for SF a little—but not for long after all the years we were screwed because we had no depth. So proud of this team. The win in SEA has me exceedingly confident going forward.

  41. Weebs10 Says:

St Pete bringing the word, appreciate you man. God bless

  42. Kenton Smith Says:

    I’m with stpetebucsfan on Aqualung!

  43. GoneGator Says:

    @Stpete
With all due respect my beliefs don’t obligate me to welcome back the pooo crumb king.

He’s reveled in talking krap about the head coach of the team and antagonizing those of us who didn’t like it for going on 2 years. A consistent and constant Troll. If he wants a clean slate let him change his name AGAIN

  44. Aqualung Says:

The Threetards are of course making maroonity, hanging out in their trailers, too blond to see criticism of crap is warranted, as is praise when praise is worthy.

This was absolutely praise worthy. The Threetards can take their hilarious outrage and fondle it.

  45. 813bucboi Says:

    Count feathers Aqua !!!!!!!!

    Eat crow!!!!!

    5-1!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  46. Eric Says:

How can this be possible without Trask?

  47. Durango 95 Says:

I’ll take Aqualung any day over the IQ challenged Bowles apologists. Man always has a solid take. He’s often witty almost always interesting. Whether you agree or not who cares. Never seen a group (the Bowles apologists) of men (I assume) that take offense about criticism over some dude they don’t even know! Yeah, really. What a bunch of weak-kneed fan boy groupies. Gossipy English cigarettes.

  48. Far Says:

I agree with all but Brady came in respected and in charge.
Baker built his respect and continues to do so all around.
It’s great when your offense is clicking but cherry on the top when it is fun to watch. Kudos to the GM the HC and the OC; Good motor good transmission, good tires, great ride! Let’s Go Bucs!

  49. Senor Harry in Costa Rica Says:

You are a freaking idiot Aqualung

  50. Ron Potter Says:

Can you imagine any other team being without their top 4 WRs and beating the 49ers?!?!

    I cannot.

  51. Bucblind Says:

Kenton you are always with the prevailing wind. Kind of like a windsock. Try standing on your own two feet for once.

  52. Kenton Smith Says:

    Go fork yourself Bucblind

  53. Itzok Says:

No other team could be without seven starters on offense and still dominate,

Evans Godwin MacMillan, are 1 thru 3 on the wideouts list, then the 4th Emeka, your best RB and right guard and tackle, not to mention the three starters on defense.

    Baker is unreal right now

  54. Bucblind Says:

Just a little life advice. Life advice usually does sting Kenton Smith.

  55. Esteban85 Says:

Man if we only had Luke Hazzard we would be undefeated. Get some rest Joe, big week ahead of you.

  56. Esteban85 Says:

Sterling Shepherd is playing like a #2. Vita Vea is a solid rock, steady and strong. Lavonte David always comes up with a big play. Jamel Dean is a quality starter in this league. Tristan Wirfs is an all world left tackle, future hall of famer. Rachaad White looks houngray out in there. Baker Mayfield is the story of the season and went from being a top 15 QB to being a top 3 QB in 2 years. MVP year, I hope ends with a Lombardi
