I’m not one of the mindless annoying Baker Boi(s) who make an excuse for everything, but that first pass was so far off, I think Baker was expecting e2 to run a different route – I don’t think he missed a short pass that badly just because he’s off.
The 3rd down rush was just a good defensive call, they blitzed more than the Bucs had blockers, nothing he could do there.
The playcalling however on that drive was too predictable. You run three times in a row, then go to shotgun and don’t use the PA pass. That’s stuff Canales and Leftwich did all the time, not something Coen did often.

Actually until the game vs the Seahawks pretty much everyone was whining about him.
With that said, I’ve been giving him a ton of slack due to all the injuries, but he’s allegedly running the same playbook that Coen was running – and that’s the issue. How does he have that playbook and then decide to choose the plays he’s choosing? Zero creativity has been by far his biggest issue. He really reminds me of Canales, a lot – which isn’t a good thing. Not as bad as Leftwich, certainly, but Canales wasn’t special. Coen was, just use AI and find out what Coen would call in each situation, and just do what Coen would have done, it’s an easy cheat code to get a HC job.

To the guy saying that the Baker overthrow can’t be caused by the fix, bro, that was one play. Wouldn’t really affect the outcome. The fix is very calculated and happens on crucial plays like the Winfield TD. You’ve seen it with the Chiefs for years. Even in 2001, when we smashed thr Chiefs, the refs couldn’t rig it because we were so dominant, but trust me, they would’ve tried if it was close and a play presented itself.

I know it’s tough since if you tackle the QB too hard you get a penalty, but you can’t gently bring down the QB and give up an extra yard in the process. The Bucs were throwing it deep last week, quite a bit, and Baker was missing everything. I don’t have an issue with shortening it up. The issue is the complete lack of creativity in the run game. This is supposed to be the same offensive playbook that Coen used, and instead we’re seeing super basic football. This is not at all what the team was doing last year in the run game – I mean everything, from being super predictable now to the actual formations. This is been Wiz Kids worst game of the year, easily. The Lions were playing man, and rarely do players in the NFL get a lot of separation in man unless they have elite speed. But e2 has been making plays regardless of coverage, and has been exceptionally sharp on his routes. On Monday, he was 100%, but he still looked good, Baker just kept missing him.
But today, he doesn’t look right at all, kind of sluggish almost – lacking energy. Clearly he’s not a lazy player or anything, so he’s got something wrong with him. The break comes at a good time this year.

The ball did hit EE in the hands, but the throw was still late. A half second sooner and EE is in stride instead of slowing down, and DB can’t obstruct him at all.
I don’t think EE is 100% either. But he needs to fight through for catches a little more. This was an issue for Evans this season too, and for Godwin when he came back.

Love parish. Plays with heart plays much bigger than his size. Is aggressive and is perfectly suited to be playing in the slot which frees up Smith and Winfield Jr to play it safety. Three corners are quite solid covering the two outside positions. I think right now to really make this a top caliber defense we need a play making linebacker another Edge rusher and a complimentary DT. I think between the draft and free agency we can get all three. But I would love for us to make some kind of trade and get one of those positions before the deadline. Whether it be Simmons from the Titans or one of the edge rushers from one of the New York teams…

So if you want to bet on the Bucs defense, it’s pretty easy.
If there’s any injuries in the secondary, it means Bowles will go into a shell and play his trash super soft zone defense.
If all the corners are healthy, Bowles seems to remember that he once was considered a defensive genius, many he went back and rewatched the SB film or something, and has been a lot more aggressive in coverage – or at least plays a lot less of that trash zone.
So basically, if everyone is healthy in the Bucs secondary, they’re a great start in daily or to bet on, defensive wise. If anyone in the secondary is out, then go for prop bets and take all the passing overs for the opposing team.

baker might have been a little bit late on the pass to ee but he did hit him in the hands. i have seen plenty of receivers for other teams fight and hold onto those balls. i’ve also seen ee fight for and come down with those passes. he’s not 100% today either. i also don’t know what’s going on with the line-the backups are playing better than wirfs and bredeson.

I’m starting to think it was a mistake last year to draft Barton with her first round pick. I think he is a reasonably good player but he does not appear to be a first-round talent and the two centers who were drafted after him in the draft seem to be playing much better. Considering we got him and then Braswell I think we would have done better to have picked a defensive player last year with our first pick and one of the other centers who went later. He just doesn’t seem to have the dog in him.

They’ve almost always been running up the middle today. The run on 2nd down is the first time in a while I recall running left, and it wasn’t off tackle or anything, it was a slow developing run to the left with guys pulling.

I like that Grizzard takes more deep shots, but the creativity and unpredictability in the run game and short passing game does not compare to Coen… so far.
O-line just hasn’t looked good the last 2 weeks. Today Wirfs has been beat way too often. Very strange to see.

That’s what I said earlier: it’s been ugly af at times but 6-2 is 6-2, with a couple wins against solid teams.
Get healthy and keep building on it. Rather be red hot in January than October.

I know it’s the Saints, but this has been two great defensive performances in a row, and frankly vs the 49ers, the defense was great outside of 2nd and 3rd quarters where Bowles just sat in his garbage zone and made Matt Jones look like Tom Brady.
And yes the Bucs probably give up a garbage score here, but the game has been dominate, obviously.
