Betting The Bucs (Week 5 Edition)

October 5th, 2025

Through four weeks in this space, Joe is up $77.50 this season. What a public service Joe has provided!

Disclaimer: Don’t bet if losing will ruin your life, or day, or week.

Betting The Bucs is a open window into Joe’s pregame wagers tied to the Buccaneers. Joe would say it’s all in fun, but this is business. (In-game wagers are best for processing the best information, but Joe cannot take that on here in real-time.)

Florida sports betting is blessed by the government via Hard Rock Bet, the source of the betting lines here.

Joe’s Week 4 picks can be seen here. As today’s Bucs game in Seattle, Joe has a few:

*Simple math here with a little logic tossed in. The Bucs have averaged 7 throws a game to running backs. Today, Rachaad White will be the top dog in the backfield with Bucky Irving out injured. White’s got great hands and he’ll get the majority of the workload. The Seattle secondary can cover, and Joe suspects the Bucs will look for easier throws early. Joe’s got White to catch 4 balls or more.

*Joe hates considering anything negative as it relates to Lavonte David, but David has looked a fraction slower recently and he was classified as “limited” on the injury report all week with a knee issue. David is coming off a three-combined-tackle game against the Eagles. Joe’s taking the under 7.5 combined tackles here. Also, Joe sees the Bucs winning time of possession today in Seattle, which will limit defensive snaps.

*This is a nod to the Bucs’ run defense and teams knowing a common way to beat Tampa Bay is to carve them up with short passes. Bucs cornerbacks Jamel Dean and Benjamin Morrison are out and Sam Darnold has plenty of experience against Todd Bowles. In his last two games against the Bucs (with Carolina) Darnold busted the over 20.5 completions mark easily. Joe expects that again today.

Good luck!

  1. Neal Cooter Says:

The Cooter family is on the way to church and my son Little Cooter said Dad Seattle will win 34-20, Mrs. Cooter shook her head in agreement

  2. Steven #55 Says:

I’d skip church and head to a hospital instead

  3. NCbucfan Says:

Me thinks Cooter goes to the Jim Jones kind of church.

  4. Billlbuc Says:

The Cooters need to pray more.

  5. Anyhony Says:

$20 says Cooter will burst into flames shortly after entering church.

  6. Jimmy Says:

The Cooter clan needs some divine intervention. What have you done to your boy?

  7. D-Rome Says:

I’m taking the under on Darnold.

  8. Scotty Mack Says:

I’m hoping the Cooter lad has the score backward. I’m thinking the Bucs offense might explode against Seattle’s much ballyhooed defense.

I said it last year before the Chargers game and I’ll say it again this year about the Seahawks D. They are paper tigers until proven otherwise. They have not played a decent offense this season so until they do, their defensive rankings don’t mean squat (just like the Chargers hadn’t played anybody last year leading up to the Bucs game).

Go ahead, check it out. Even last year’s Seattle defense which showed “tremendous improvement” as the year progressed got roasted by the good offenses and did well against the weaklings.

Yeah, I like it. Bucs 34, Seahawks 20. Thanks Cooter kid!

  9. unbelievable Says:

Yup, it’s sad but it looks like age has finally caught up to LVD.

So we need 2 ILBs, just like I said all offseason.

  10. Buddha Says:

    Betting w.Buddha:

    Las Vegas +7.5
    Bengals +10
    Broncos +4
    Tennessee +7.5

  11. Rod Munch Says:

David had 11 tackles, 7 solo, and a sack just two weeks ago. Some decline.

  12. Sheen Says:

Daddy Cooter needs to wash his boys mouth out with some soap stat!

  13. Rod Munch Says:

David had 9 tackles, 5 solo – including two clutch solo tackles in the first half on a drive to make the Seahawks have to punt, plus a TFL, and of course the game clinching INT. Some decline.

  14. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, someone said early after I mentioned the two great solo tackles by David that the Joe’s had reversed jinxed him for the game. What a great take. Nothing against Joe, a 7.5 tackle line is pretty high for a guy coming off a 3 tackle week, and considering the Seahawks run the ball a lot, normally, which means they don’t get off as many plays since they’re running the clock. But I love the reverse jinx angle, need to do that more often.
