Mike Evans’ Shot At True All-Time Greatness
September 7th, 2025
Another push starts now.
Mike Evans is a Hall of Fame receiver still in his prime.
Just look at how Evans performed once he returned from injury last season. One could argue he was the most productive receiver in the league with 48 catches in those final seven games.
But there’s more for Evans to accomplish in order for him to go down as one of the greatest receivers of all-time — elite of the elite. And Joe knows that reality lives in Evans’ mind.
As fans know, Evans will break the all-time record this year for consecutive 1,000-yard seasons this year if he hits the mark. That would be 12 straight years, one better than Jerry Rice. But Joe lives in reality. Years from now clowns in high NFL media places will claim Evans needed a 17th game to match Rice’s record last year and will try to detract from Evans’ greatness.
When it comes to total catches, Evans will never become a guy who hauls in a historic number of balls. That hasn’t been his game. However, he has a great chance to become a legend of legends — and shutup any future morons — when it comes to touchdown catches.
Evans has 105 career TD receptions. Only six receivers in NFL history have more: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison and Larry Fitzgerald. Evans is 16 TD catches behind Fitzgerald.
Catching Fitzgerald, who played 17 seasons, would make Evans an undeniable first-ballot Hall of Famer, Joe believes. Fitzgerald is eligible for the Hall of Fame this year for the first time and seems to be a slam dunk guy to get in immediately.
Joe’s not saying Evans has more to prove, only noting that he truly can reach NFL deity level with two more strong seasons. Joe’s banking on Evans’ awareness of this fueling his desire to keep playing.
As for today, Joe’s looking for Evans to get a lot of targets and an extra deep shot or two in Josh Grizzard’s tweaked offense.

This write-up of Mike is wonderful, Joe. Hoping to see it happen today too.

ME13’s hammy is healed. Let’s see some creativity out of Grizzard for both Big Mike (HOF) and Double E. Go Tampa Bay!!

“Only six receivers in NFL history have more: Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Cris Carter, Marvin Harrison and Larry Fitzgerald. Evans is 16 TD catches behind Fitzgerald.“
Mike is 9th all-time with 105 TDs, he’s also behind Tony Gonzalez(8th) & Antonio Gates(7th) in TDs and can surpass those two with 11 TDs at any point this season. Fitz is sitting at 121 TDs and Mike would have to post that 16 TDs to get close . Yes Fitz is the next WR on the list, but we can’t ignore the two HOF TEs which makes the accomplishment that much sweeter, Joe.
Mike also has Devante Adam’s on his heels at 10th with 102 TDs.
Don’t care for force feeding, but every redzone trip, we should be trying to find Mike on any down.

With ME13’s incredible catch radius he is always open regardless of the coverage.
September 7th, 2025 at 10:24 am
You mean he needed a 17 game season. He didn’t need 17 games, because we all know he played less. I think that’s a non story, stop repeatedly putting that out there for a non educated writer to latch on to. If that argument comes it should be met with a stale face and silence. LFG!!!

I am calling it today, mark my words Mike Evans will not have a catch all day

ME gets in on the first ballot if he gets that 12th straight year of 1000+ yards…. to start a career no less….
More TDs will surely come – but 12 straight seasons of 1000+ yards demonstrates an unprecedented level of consistency. If you pass Jerry Rice in any meaningful receiving statistic – that alone is an automatic first ballot HOF scenario.
Go get em M1k3

More coaches need to find Mike Evans type players for these short kings that have taken over the QB position
September 7th, 2025 at 11:22 am
The team have got to focus on getting Mike his second ring, that’s what it’s about.

Bucky Irving is going to get the entire recurving core better looks. He us an undeniable threat a true game wrecker that a defensive coordinator has to gameplay for. Stack the box against this offense and your asking to get thrown on all day loosen it up for extra coverage and Bucky and the line will run it down your throat. Pick your lethal poison against this offense. Just thine when Godwin and McMillan are back geesh guys…

Evans is going off today. He is hungry for another SB.

Joe……”Years from now clowns in high NFL media places will claim Evans needed a 17th game to match Rice’s record last year and will try to detract from Evans’ greatness”
Actually Mike got it in 14 games, being out for 3 games,
so clowns got no room to clown.
Thinking about Mike making his HOF speech one day. I think about an unsung hero in this. Todd Monken who brought in by Dirk, and Todd’s first priority was Mike. That coincided with Mike’s first child being born that off season. Mike had an excellent year, and has just continued year after year.
GO BUCS!!!!!!!

I can totally see Mike hanging up his cleats after this season.
I know… he’s on record talking in a way that suggests he’s leaning toward playing for a couple more years.
Let’s see how he feels in February and March.
16 TDs would be a lot in one season. I’m not saying he can’t do it; but that would be a lot of added pressure on Mike and the entire offense.
For the moment, lets just focus on a thousand yards for the season.
We do that one game at a time.
It starts today in Atlanta.
For the moment, lets just focus on a thousand yards for this season.

Sorry to see Culp is a healthy scratch?

ME13 will play at minimum next year as well. After he succeeds this year with his 12th consecutive 1000+ yard season, it only makes sense for ME13 to succeed with his 13th season of 1000+ for the harmony of it all.
So Jason, just extend him now with some bonus structure that has another 13 “something” included in the numbers.
Because damn, 13 is one Buc’s lucky number!

two more 1k seasons in a row and 25 more td’s Mike will be considered one of the best ever

Hey Jack, you are obviously a Falcon fan. But facts are facts. M1K3 will beat Rices’ record. He will be a major factor in this game. And every game he will play in. Wish in one hand…
