Mike Evans Hurts Hamstring, Heads To Locker Room
September 21st, 2025
Most of the Bucs’ offense celebrates with Mike Evans after his second-quarter touchdown Sunday against the Jets.
So Mike Evans’ day was over sooner than most expected.
Evans, the future Bucs Hall of Fame receiver, exited the win over the Jets with less than seven minutes left with his annual hamstring injury.
Evans had a rare healthy training camp, one of his best. So you knew the clock was ticking on his annual hamstring issue.
It came in Week 3.
Evans hobbled off the field midway through the fourth quarter and pretty much went straight into the Bucs’ locker room. Very shortly thereafter, it was announced in the press box that he indeed had a hamstring injury and his return was questionable. Later, Evans was downgraded to out.
After the game, Joe saw Evans talking to Emeka Egbuka and later briefly with Todd Bowles. Evans didn’t appear to be in agonizing pain and he was standing up. Evans also wasn’t in an angry mood.
Bowles briefly mentioned Evans’ injury in his postgame remarks and he didn’t indicate Evans would go on the injured reserve list as a result.
Obviously, more will be known when the first injury report comes out on Wednesday in advance of the Eagles game next Sunday.

Hopefully…….Godwin comes back

Found a way to win without him. Shows a lot about this team. Baker, and Egbuka have been clutch.

good thing he scored first. good think sauce left when he did too. phew.

“That’s just great now. We’re screwed for the eagles game’
No its just Tez time. I would not over work Godwin in his first game back

Hoping the best for Mike!

Anything injured with his hands, because those drops are mind numbing
September 21st, 2025 at 5:52 pm
If there’s any way possible, we know Mike Evans will be back on the field…wouldn’t surprise me if he plays against the Eagles.

It has been happening every year for like the past 7 years. It really is a shame but his hamstring can’t go. That is why he usually falls when catching, he has his savvy vet skills to help. Good thing the back end of the season is loaded with likely non playoff teams. They maybe able to load him up towards 1000.

I think the offensive line is more of an issue than Evans at this point. Eagles going to wreak havoc on this offensive line of backups. Won’t matter who the Receivers are.

The Egbuka pick just keeps looking smarter and smarter. Just sayin…

Were ANY balls thrown to TEs????Need to spread the ball around a bit.

Falcons got destroyed, Saints getting destroyed. We are 3-0 with a beat to h3ll Oline.
Enjoy it gents!
Yeah we know Aqualung what you’re going to say. You can save it.

I want to know where all the deep balls to Evans has gone. They never do them anymore and when they tried one Evans PI call. All I read all summer was Joe saying what a camp he’s had and then the first 3 games they haven’t even tried to get him the ball. He’ll be back and when he does, throw it to him!

Bucman I was paying pretty close attention to that after the half and I don’t think a single pass was thrown to a tight end. I think they did stay in to block a lot. Also wonder how much harder it is with like a 6-7 guard and a short qb. Could have had some outside stuff for Otton or Durham. So far it partially feels like grizzArd just doesn’t use them much in passing game, but hard to say with the offensive line how it is. Also kept wanting screens with the mixed results just handing it off. The first screen I remember seeing was crucial near end of game. Def want to see a bit more creativity and stuff to break up keying on Baker/Bucky but options are limited. More swing passes to white would be nice
September 21st, 2025 at 6:04 pm
No, passes were thrown to the tight ends Because Josh grizzard is a crappy coordinator
September 21st, 2025 at 6:11 pm
I think we are using tight ends to block more so Baker is not murdered every passing down.

Good that Mike was standing and didn’t appear to be in pain.
Of course, we’ll know more in a couple of days.
Of course, a Mike hamstring injury is always bad news, but ideally we’ll find out it could be/could’ve been a lot worse.

Logan Hall has a groin, in my Greg Schiano voice. Hope hes back next week
September 21st, 2025 at 6:15 pm
And apparently the Bucs only have one RB.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:17 pm
I don’t remember all these hamstring issues in the 80’s and 90’s… probably too much of the energy drinks! LOL. I don’t know.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:18 pm
The ghosts 👻 of Greg Schiano still haunts this Organization……
………he ruined Josh Freeman

I really thought it was his knee when it happened and a non contact knee injury is real bad most of the time. Hate that he is injured but maybe a 3-0 start will give him some time to heal.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:24 pm
This is where we could’ve really used Mcmillian. But he’s still a while away from coming back.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:26 pm
Bucsass anthem nobody listin to your stupid trap. Every bucs fan is aware of the bucs situation on the offensive line situation but you. Idiot.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:27 pm
They’ll both continue to have their moments, but both, Mike and LaVonte are really beginning to show their age out there. Mike can no longer beat ANYONE downfield, and has been mostly regulated, as being just a ‘possession’ receiver, at this point of his career.

ME with an injured hamstring…SHOCKER
September 21st, 2025 at 6:29 pm
Oh yea the TE’S were helping the no name offensive line block if you want Baker to be around next week
September 21st, 2025 at 6:30 pm
@TheBucsAnthem.
I guess a makeshift OL is nothing to talk about? LOL. The TEs were always going to be helping with blocking. They definitely weren’t a focal point of the passing game and I’m ok with it.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:40 pm
thought it might be worse with the dreaded non contact
September 21st, 2025 at 6:43 pm
Would be really nice have a good, dependable pass catching tight end right about now. Otton hasn’t seemed like himself for a while now.
September 21st, 2025 at 6:55 pm
Can’t believe ME13 isn’t taped to prevent hamstring tears. With his history, compression leggings and or tape should be automatic.

god please let mike be ok. that is all 🙏🏻

I see a few are complaining about the play calling. The offensive line is a Frankenstein. Everyone is out of position. Got to cut grizz some slack . I bet it will get better when Tristen gets back.
September 21st, 2025 at 7:38 pm
Sunday night football just said Evans supposed to have MRI tomorrow on that hamstring could miss time.
