BSPN: Bucs Are (Currently) Playoff Bound
September 19th, 2025
Computers predict.
Last month, prickly Pete Prisco of CBS predicted the Bucs would have the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC when the playoff field settles.
This shocked his colleagues. Maybe Prisco really is onto something.
Now Joe typed this week how, since the playoffs were expanded in 2021, teams that started the season off 2-0 make the playoffs 77 percent of the time.
The gerbils running on wheels at BSPN think it’s a higher percentage for the Bucs.
In their computer programs, BSPN currently has the Bucs with an 83 percent chance of making the playoffs. The Packers have the best percentage in the NFC with 88 percent. The Eagles are just behind the Bucs at 81 percent.
This computer mumbo jumbo doesn’t have seeding percentages.
Joe hopes this bit of news gives comfort to Bucs fans stressing out this Friday morning because of all of the injury news.

The computer isn’t accounting for injuries. Hopefully we have enough to beat the Jets Sunday as that gives us a nice buffer until Wirfs / Godeke come back.
Pound the Rock!

yep, gotta a lot of injuries to account for. Love that story from Kyle, Baker is a beast on the field and off of it too. Im so glad we got him….now to keep him injury free.

Teams are only as good as their weakest link, right now injuries are rearing their ugly head.
I sure hope Grizz has Baker doing a lot of roll outs and half roll outs, just cant rely on a makeshift line that has not even practiced hardly any plays together.
GO BUCS!!!!

This Jets game is huge. After is Eagles, Seahawks, 49’ers and Lions.
If you give me 5-2 after 7 games I will lock that in the vault right now.

Agree with the sentiment to RPO, quick pass, boot, counter and then 3TE 2RB power looks. Every quarter a max protect to see if Mikey can shake loose deep and if not sneak Rachaad or Otton out of the backfield for the checkdown.
I’m actually more worried about the defense. High probability that Todd overthinks it, neuters the pass rush more than usual and stubbornly refuses to double Garrett Wilson or decide SirCantCover is the one to shadow Breece Hall. Then the soft shell zone takes over and next thing we see is Tyrod throwing for 300 yards.
Miami hung with the Bills last night until Tua did a Tua and coughed up one of the worst interceptions you’ll ever see as they were about to tie the game. Anyone thinking the Bucs are going to smoke the Jets is hallucinating, and as long as you’re willing to share that’s ok.

Wow, that story about Baker at the Pro Bowl was awesome. Ya, that’s our QB! One in a million!

Nick Wright actually picked them to go to the SUPER BOWL. Mostly, because he thinks that they will be the #1-seed, due to their schedule (and Division). If, the Chiefs continue to ‘sputter’ and the Bucs continue racking up ‘wins’ then I would expect to see his show (“First Things First” on FS1) to ‘heavily’ push Bucs content, EVERYDAY. They will replace His Chiefs for at least the time being, and then become his new team for the season. Maybe, they could become His NFC Team from here on out for the next several seasons. Fingers Crossed.

Boy Auqa, I Sure feel where you’re coming from. How many times??….. How Many Black eyes does it take?
So far, he’s showing signs of a “better game plan”. The team though Very Wounded, has actually performed at a respectable showings on both offense and defense. “Good decisions” have been made. BUT the Real Question is how long can Bowles go without the seemingly destined “chicken little” demon popping it’s Goofy Head out to play soft and grossly obscure?
As I said, so far so good. But can Bowles do it? Can he MAN Up and PLAY BALL in a Dominating “CONSISTENT” fashion EVEN WITH our current and Obvious disadvantages?
If he can do coach cleanly again, As Promised I’ll cut fresh flowers, maybe even not throw up a little in my mouth, and his growth will Impress me.
If Not…. If we Blow Chunks because of “poor decisions” Again…. No Need to even say how merciless it’ll be…
Personally, I Want To WIN and Go On To Glory and Greatness. If Bowles can FINALLY show he’s SEEN THE LIGHT…. All the Better.
And if He reverts back to the same old same old, I WANT HIM GONE!
Hoping for the Win, planning for anything else.
GO BUCS!

I don’t give a crap about the Stupid Bowl. I follow up to the Conference Championships, and then turn off. All the SB is, and has been, is another fancy party for the richy rich. Bucs are going through the usual baloney: new OC, injuries to major players, etc. Sure would like to see this process end, and this team pay at full strength with everybody healthy.

Very cool story from Kyle about Baker.
As for the playoffs, we will go as far as our offensive line can take us…

I get the criticism of Todd. Games like last year’s KC loss still stick in our craws.
I get the time management crap. BUT THAT WAS IN THE PAST.
What has he done for us lately? Went for it on 4th against the Falcons.
Perhaps he wisely (IMO not everybody’s) had AW let Chubb score so the Bucs would have time to score a TD. His D STOPPED the 2 point attempt!
The clock managment on the final drive was superb with the Bucs score right at the very end. He has improved in the areas people were gripping about.

Yay… playoffs!
AND THEN WHAT???
