Albert Breer: Bucs Have An Envious Organization
September 9th, 2025
Well-stocked roster.
Joe has already noted the Bucs’ roster is comprised of 82 percent of drafted players. No team has as much homegrown talent as Tampa Bay.
And Albert Breer of SI.com suggested if the Bucs, for example, were in the northeast or played in the AFC West, they would be the talk of the NFL.
Why? Because the Bucs almost always have a quality player to plug a hole.
And maybe because they play in Florida, or the NFC South, they don’t get enough attention for it—but Egbuka’s readiness is just another example of how impressively the Buccaneers have emerged from their post–Tom Brady era, especially when compared to what happened in New England after the Patriots lost the legendary quarterback. …
There are examples of this all over Tampa’s roster. The Bucs dealt Carlton Davis III away two offseasons ago and had Zyon McCollum ready to roll. Luke Goedeke backfilled the right tackle spot when Wirfs flipped to left tackle after Donovan Smith left. Barton took over the spot Ryan Jensen held down for six years, and so on and so on.
They also came out dealing with injuries such as Wirfs’s and Godwin’s. Yet, they’re still standing as the favorite to take home the South again. Sunday made it pretty obvious again why it is that way.
In some ways, the Bucs remind Joe of a good baseball organization. If there is an injury or a trade, the team calls someone up from the minors and that player is ready to play and won’t embarrass himself. That’s sort of the way the Bucs have built from within.
Stock the roster with quality and have it ready when needed, whether that is because of an injury, a trade, or someone leaving for greener pastures.

We have some depth now. Just need a little more at ILB, DT, OLB and CB. One more draft and free agency will do it. Super Bowl window is open. Will have some money to spend as well compared to last few years.

Linebacker is next, we must fill that spot in next years draft and find a replacement at nose tackle. We need tight end as well. So yes we are doing well but we need to strike it rich in April every year.

Green Bay-lite!? Maybe. But, GREEN Bay has finally started making ‘winning’ moves.

In this DREAM DECADE we need to see homegrown Super Bowl Champions along with a statue of Licht at the entrance of THE LICHT HOUSE. Then the Dream Decade is a reality.
LFG!!!!

There are still some positions that the Bucs need help with as far as back ups. DL, ILB and OLB are the most at risk this year. Once those are addressed, the Bucs can become a top 5 team.

Every NFL team has areas of concern. The Bucs have one of the best rosters in the NFL, but depth at OLB, ILB and DT need to be addressed next offseason.
Seemed like every time the Bucs put Braswell and Nelson in the Falcons started driving the ball.

Was Grizzard promoted from within, or was he hired from the outside? I’ve had 2 conflicting reports on it. No doubt about it: Licht is the best GM Bucs have ever had. Glazer Boyz struck solid 32K gold with his hire.
