Todd Bowles Lavishes Praise On Emeka Egbuka

August 6th, 2025

Big build up.

Does Kay Adams make grown men break down and say things they would otherwise not say? It sure seems that way.

The it-girl of NFL coverage was at One Buc Palace today as part of her training camp tour for her FanDuel TV show, “Up and Adams.” She seems to have a front seat on the Bucs’ bandwagon.

Adams mentioned in another video Joe will type up later that Bucs AC/DC-loving Jason Licht is “like the coolest GM ever.” But it was her sitdown with Todd Bowles that stunned Joe.

Bowles, a defensive guy, normally plays things close to the vest, especially when it comes to offense. But Adams got Bowles to lavish heaps of praise on a guy who, let’s be honest, has yet to take a snap in an NFL game.

Bowles absolutely gushed over Emeka Egbuka and told Adams the things she is reading about Egbuka are all true: Egbuka is at a level where he looks just like a seasoned veteran.

“The way he came in and his approach and how he grasps everything and runs the right routes and sticks his face in there to block and he’s been very professional in his technique,” Bowles said. “He does all the little things.”

Egbuka fell to the right team, Bowles said, noting Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have been fantastic big brothers to Egbuka and have helped his transition.

“He fit right in,” Bowles said of his first-round draft pick.

Bowles continued to lay it on thick for the rookie. Adams asked Bowles if Egbuka could be a No. 1 receiver on other teams. Bowles didn’t blink. “Absolutely,” Bowles said.

Joe might have to take a cold shower.

    All of the above.

Joe is just excited because the Tampa heat has required Ms. Adams to present herself in a state that more resembles her natural condition.

I bet the first play of the regular season is a short pass or something to EE to start the season to break the ice to say here ya go kid, 1st reception in the NFL now let’s go.

The further we get away from the draft, the more I believe the Egbuka pick was freaking genius.

Let’s hold the anointing oil until we see him live……but I’ve got the warms for Egbuka.

  9. Zman Says:

I watched him play at OSU for several years and he is a smooth WR. He does a lot of things well. I wanted to see us draft him.

Its a double win, Egbuka will perform at a high level for us and will be kept off other teams. I remember hearing the Texans were going after him as well.

the hype train is running so hot and the bar is so high he is unlikely to get close to meeting expectations. then it will be non stop “well it was his rookie season you know blah blah” when he turns out to be a normal rookie and get a few hundred yards the whole year.

  12. Stpetematt Says:

He is NOT only going to get a few hundred yards.

    Mark my words.
