Sticks up for Bucs.
Once a slimy Saint, always a slimy Saint.
If you enjoy seductive Kay Adams, you’ll love her even more.
If you are not fond of Drew Brees, you’ll dislike him even more.
Brees may be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame sooner than later. He was a great quarterback.
Brees also can be a pain in the posterior. Trust Joe, Joe’s dealt with him before.
So this week, Brees appeared on Adams’ weekday morning show “Up and Adams,” seen on FanDuel TV. There, she asked Brees about the slimy Saints and the NFC South.
Brees tried to make an argument, as in, “Why not the Saints?” when Adams asked him to break down the division.
That’s right. A team many people think might be playing for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft next spring, Brees tried to suggest can still win the NFC South. And Brees was quite dismissive about the Bucs.
“Who scares you?” Brees said in trying to set the table to con viewers into thinking the slimy Saints are a contender.
Brees then waved off the Bucs, saying people may think they have an edge because of playoff experience and Baker Mayfield. Then Brees asked again, “Who scares you?”
Adams, with a look on her face as if she was wondering what French Quarter bar Brees just stepped out of, answered Brees’ question with a simple answer.
“Tampa.”

So yeah, Adams really is driving the Bucs bandwagon. Good for her to defend the Bucs.

Can’t really expect Brees to throw his team under the bus. And he knows who coaches the Bucs.

I definitely think we have the best team on paper.
But realistically, we did barely beat the Saints and Panthers last year and the Falcons beat us twice.
So, we have alot to prove within the division and then hopefully once we get to the playoffs as well.
I don’t fault Brees for this take.

Tampa!!! Bay!!! Give me a break. The Saints are trash and TAMPA is definitely the team to beat in the NFC South! The only thing holding us back is injuries and the lack of a proven pass rush (Jason missed a golden opportunity).

Todd Bowles is the head coach. His defense In Reality Truly and Absolutely SUCKS! His LACK OF “actual” coaching skills are in Truth … Less than middle of the road. The Offense SAVED last year. The Actual truth is that Bowles maybe once out of what? Out of 10 close games and something we NEVER SAW (so very rare in the past is now common place) “Tie Scores”,,, he may have actually won 1…. 1 of those shoot outs. 1!
He Is Not the right man to lead this or Any pro team. He doesn’t and never will have the skill set to take us to the Super Bowl. Anybody that claims differently has been sold magic beans, are delusional, or Really DON’T KNOW what they are looking at
Todd Bowles IS the problem. And it’s a shame that Licht and the Glazers have saddled us with him. It’s not fair to the fans nor the players. “Except his Buddies of course” It’s great for them but it Sure Isn’t great for the rest of us….

Nice rant obvious. However, what’s your point? You do know they just resigned this terrible coach to a new contract? If you’re a fan of the team, you’ll be seeing a lot of him. But if you have as much disdain as you spent displaying in your diatribe, I don’t know how you could enjoy the season. Seems like any success will be against your narrative and therefore far less enjoyable for you. Too bad.

Look, Brees has to talk up his team, some Buc alum had to do the same during the dark decade after Chuckie left and before Ariens arrived….. One thing I love about JBF, is that we do not have to see or listen to Brees hype his restaurant chain on this platform, unlike another which cover the Bucs…..

I kind of expect Brees to say that. Kay adams, as beautiful as she is…is kind of an airhead, but even she can see the Aints ain’t got a snowballs chance in hades.
I see so many people grousing about our chances before we even play a snap. Geez. Let’s watch a few games first. If we start 0-4 I’ll personally hand out the pitchforks and torches.
As far as Micah Parsons, 2 first rounders (probably late) and a 10th year DT isn’t too steep for that guy. $47 mother lovin’ million per year? The lions share of that is guaranteed? Plus, the cherry on top: he got a clean evaluation for a back injury, but he wants a second opinion. Btw, Dallas was offering 5 years at $40.5 mil. Don’t know the guarantees.

I agree with a few of the above, he’s just towing the party line. He doesn’t believe anything he’s actually saying. The Saints will be the worst team in the league, OR at least bottom three, and the Bucs will win the division barring injury. Always barring injury. We can’t get any more starters hurt and need to get a few starters back to do any real damage.

The only thing that scares me about the Saints is if Arch Manning shows that is a super Saiyan version of Peyton and Eli put together, wins the Heisman etc – and the saints are SO bad this year we have to deal with a Manning for the next 15 years. And I think k people forget, because Brady played for 30 years, but Peyton is the one that redefined the position. HE was smarter than his own coaching staff and called his own plays. No one was game planned more. That’s besides the point I guess, but I’ll take his peak years over anyone

We could be in the Saints position, new untested, Head Coach, a good OC, former QB, a few good players, not many stars on their roster. We Buccaneer fans have been here before.
Yet today, August 29th 2025, we have a very good team, with a Head coach who has lead his team to not one, not two, not three, but four, back to back to back to back NFC South Division Championships. We do have star players on both sides of the ball, have very solid depth. We just had another good draft.
Yes we have had two new OC’S in our last two seasons, where with OC without any game calling experience, where we won our Division. All with the same Head Coach. We have made it to the playoffs every season for the past five seasons.
Why all the hate for our Head Coach? Who was the DC for our second Super Bowl trophy… Yeah I know Brady, Brady, Brady. But who was it that held the Chiefs to Zero Tuddies, and only allowed Nine points in a Super Bowl game?
That same guy every JBF “keyboard know it all” beat the drums to send to the unemployed Head Coaches line. Todd Bowles….
Is he perfect, no… Absolutely no Head Coaches are… Is he good enough, to win a Super Bowl again. IMO. YES HE IS!!!

Brees said what Adams brought him on the show to say so that she could do her schtick. They played their parts well, No reason to make personal judgments about either one. Interviews may not be scripted verbatim, but they’re hardly spontaneous.

adam from NY: you can bet that the Aints will probably send out feelers to the Manning Dynasty during the season (or vice versa) about whether Arch is even considering coming out for the 2026 draft and if he would be okay playing for New Orleans and follow in Grandpa’s footsteps IF the Saints look like they are heading for a 3 dash 14 season and a top 2 draft pick. Obviously, there will be certain franchises which the Mannings will not touch with a 10 foot pole and Arch is making millions of NIL coin this season and he would make even more if he decided to play one more season of NCAAF.

RustyRhino: I will give you some possible reasons why Todd B is not so popular with some Buc fans. 1) 2021 playoffs and the major fail on D with Cooper Kupp burning his play calling in the final minutes of the divisional playoff after Brady battled back from the hole Bowles D had dug. 2) Playing not to lose in places like Cleveland in 2022 and last season in KC. 3) Poor time management skills 4) That soft zone that keep opposing offenses on the field and having his edge rushers fall back into pass coverage. 4) His stoic nature, at least in public, he just comes off as unaccountable and never admits to making mistakes while coaches like Dan Campbell take the blame for all their teams’ failures (now to be fair, Bowles could be quite different behind closed doors). 5) Cannot win a primetime game which is one reason why the national media write the Bucs off. 6) His record, while the Bucs have been winning divisions, they still seem to underperform and choke in the clutch at times like the losses last year to the ATL. Some attribute Bowles as the only reason the Bucs current o/u win total at Vegas is 9.5 and not higher….

Come on, what is Brees supposed to say? I don’t want Derrek Brooks doing interviews trashing the Bucs saying they don’t have a chance in 2014 – even if he knew it was true, you wouldn’t want to hear it from him.
Also when did Brees turn into my high school PE teacher. He’s always had awful hair, but man, it’s 2025, we have the technology to reverse that.

I don’t mind Brees but I wish some media pundit would point out that Sean Payton should have been banned for life way back when. What could be worse than trying to injure opposing players? Different sport, but worse than anything Pete Rose had going and the Saints are still dirty.
