Sean Tucker Ready For More Carries
August 15th, 2025
Bucs RB Sean Tucker.
Last week Bucs coach Todd Bowles mentioned he wanted to get No. 3 running back Sean Tucker more touches.
We’ve got to give him the ball more,”
Bowles said, after talking up Tucker’s skill set.
That was music to Tucker’s ears. Tucker told Joe yesterday in Pittsburgh after the Bucs and Steelers had a joint practice at the Crib That Antonio Brown Built about Bowles’ request for the offensive coaches to feed him the ball more. Tucker all but said to bring it on.
“You know, we always, each one of us, know, everyone always want to be on the field and showcase what we do,” Tucker said. “So, you know, whenever I get the chance to get on the field, I’m always showing my best.”
Joe asked Tucker if that gave him confidence to hear Bowles have trust in him.
“Yeah, definitely, I feel that,” Tucker said.
No. 2 back and workhorse back Rachaad White suffered a groin injury last week in the Bucs’ first worthless preseason game against the mighty Titans. Since teams do not have August injury reports and are not obligated to speak about injuries until Week 1 of the regular season, there’s no telling how hurt White is or how much time he will miss.
An opportunity missed by one player is an opportunity gained by another. And while Tucker doesn’t want to see a teammate hurt, he now has a big window to show Bowles and the Bucs he can handle and deserves more carries.
“Whenever I’m on the field, it’s my opportunity, you know, whenever that is,” Tucker said. “I never want to see anybody go down. So hopefully [White has a] speedy recovery.”
Tucker truly hates that a teammate is hurt. But he seems ready to show Bowles and coaches he can handle more with the rock.

I am pleased with this news of more opportunities for Mr.Tucker. Also very pleased with his well wishes for his stablemate Mr.White.

i hope tucker gets a chance to show off his blocking and receiving skills to put the narrative for keeping white around to an end.

HAPPY FOR TUCKER….cant wait to see josh williams…get well soon r.white
GO BUCS!!!!!

I would love for Tucker to become the #2 back. Hopefully he’s improved on his blocking. He is the fastest RB on the team.

He better be if JL decides to ‘pull-off’ that Mike Tannenbaum proposed trade on for Micah Parsons on “Get Up” this morning Hahahah. He had the Bucs in his ‘Top-3’ trade partners. You’d really hate having to give up Vea for ‘this season’ though, given his importance to the D-Line and Defense overall, BUT it would definitely, make sense due to his age and contract situation. You could prob ‘pull-him’ since Jerry prob wouldn’t be interested in him anyway, due to the exact same reasons… And, he wouldn’t match with their timeline, since trading Parsons (and getting ‘draft-picks’ in return) would put them squarely in a definite ‘rebuild-mode’ – they’d be giving up on this season for sure. How bout Bucky, a First, and a 4th… In a HEARTBEAT. James Cook is a better back right now, & the Bills just wrapped him up for $12Mil per and $30Mil guaranteed. You can friggin’ draft, find and replace RB’s… You CAN’T Micah Parsons.’ Period. Especially, just barely hitting their Prime. And, we have plenty of other weapons on Offense. Parsons would be a TOTAL game changer.

Charlie Heck No to that trade proposal lol….
i think you missed the article that joe put out regarding “no a-holes”…
Parsons is super talented, but he has a diva streak in him just like DW…..
vita needs to retire a buc…simple as that!!!!!
if we’re trading draft picks for a player, i’d send a 2nd round pick to the bengals for trey henderickson…thats it
GO BUCS!!!!

It’d take more than Bucky, a 1st, and a 4th anyway, but it’s all in fun… At least a 2nd. Def out on the open market right now, I would think? Especially, since Jerry has ALL of the control with those TWO ‘franchise tags’ in his back pocket. It’s gotten totally personal, & Jerry could just say F-OFF.

It was obvious last season when Sean Tucker won offensive player of the week award that he needed more carries. I was surprised he he didn’t get any.
Occasionally the Bucs used the “pony package” last season with 2 RBs on the field, and it was successful. It would be interesting to see three on the field at the same time.

It’s not always about advancing the ball. A big part of what’s needed in a RB is blitz pick-up and pass blocking, especially with Tristan’s status still unknown.
Haven’t seen anyone this pre-season, as effective as Rachaad White at that responsibility.
I’ll be watching for that throughout the pre-season.

I’m taking Parsons ALL DAY, everyday, at 26-years old, over handing Hendrickson a similar amount of money… I do not see Hendrickson settling on just a ‘2-year’ contract either, by the way. I believe that he is EXPECTING 3-years+ and a whoooole lot of $$$ GUARANTEED. If you can sign Parsons to a 4-5 year extension, not only can you push it out over multiple years, you’re getting ‘HOF/All-Time’ level production over ALL of those seasons, & then you still have HIM at the same exact age as what Hendrickson is now, when it’s all said and done. Then, you have anther decision to make… re-sign him, OR go ahead and ‘move-him’ for a BOATLOAD of picks!!!! First of all, NOBODY “needs to” retire a BUC, especially when you can make a move that would drastically change the future of the Franchise. And, unless, Vea agrees to take a BIG discount, I don’t see the Bucs wanting to ‘shell-out’ TOP of the market $$$$ again, for an aging, north of 30 DT. Jerry is NOT taking him in return, to begin with. The Bucs actually, do have a HUGE decision to make regarding him, that is coming up here REAL SOON. Bucky, on the other hand, is a VERY interesting trade piece. And, being too afraid to trade him would be absolutely, insanely ABSURD, on just soooo many levels (total, complete ‘homerism’ LoL). It would be the exact same thing as NOT being willing to part with last season’s best rookie ‘Inside LB’ or something, for Justin Jefferson or Ja’Mar Chase LoL. SERIOUSLY, 💯. It is the exact same thing. Parson’s is ELITE, just hitting his PRIME, at a PREMIER position on the field. And, I think he is the ONLY player to begin in career with having at least 12+Sacks, in his first 4-seasons, since a MAN named “Reggie White” – If, that says anything!? Very Rare Talent.

I was just thinking yesterday, that I would really like to see A LOT more ‘2-back’ sets this season, especially with Wirfs (and Godwin) being out! It seems-like, I saw somewhere, awhile back, that our ‘success level’ when doing so last season, was EXTREMELY HIGH.

Vea’s age and upcoming contract situation was one of the main reasons I really wanted Deone Walker outta Kentucky (or at least ONE of those other top DE’s), in last spring’s draft just a few months ago.

I am #PL44SED with Tucker getting more carries.
August 15th, 2025 at 11:43 am
Someone tell Todd that he is the head coach, and as the head coach, if he wants Tucker to get more touches, then he simply needs to tell his staff to make it happen, period.
Instead, he’s too busy devising defensive schemes that would confuse the Navajo Code Talkers. Even as his CBs show they can play good man coverage. Can’t be known as a defensive genius if your guys are good at man coverage.
August 15th, 2025 at 11:45 am
Getting a pass rush without blitzing only helps the secondary. Reddick has to prove he still has it. Other than that the line is unchanged except for another year of experience. Picking egbuka made the big money signing of Godwin unnecessary. And he’s a huge wild card coming off a major injury and at 30 years old. Love what Godwin has done but in a business world I think it was a poor decision. Hopefully I’m proven differently.

gamer. udfa. remember ernest graham. same thing. im sure raheem remembers when ernest got hurt. they never won another game that year and raheem lost the hc job and took years to get another chance.
ufdas, late rounders, veteran minimums mostly have to be gamers.
i know the kid’s health took him out of the draft but he wasnt going to go early round anyway, but give jts a heart like his and we wouldnt have had enough money to renew his second contract.
August 15th, 2025 at 11:59 am
The fact that all 3 of our RBs catch and block, too, is fine with me. Now what’s all the trade talk noize? VV is going nowhere, and we don’t need any Divas in the locker room.
August 15th, 2025 at 12:14 pm
I don’t know why people are saying Tucker need to get Rachaad White carries. Against the Washington Commanders, White got one carry, Tucker Zero carries.
So when White is gone
Tucker can get his one carry, in the first playoff game

First time I saw Tucker play I thought this team just keeps surprising me! We have the 3 best backs in the league, there is no close second. 2 are on rookie contracts and running backs are cheap so why would we discuss dealing White. Need to resign him. He’s a Buc. I’ll bet Baker fights for him. He saves Baker’s butt blocking and checking down. We’ve got the makings of a great team. Add to a great team. Don’t subtract from it!
August 15th, 2025 at 1:14 pm
Ok, it’s debatable that we have the 3 best backs in the league. But you know what I meant to say.
August 15th, 2025 at 1:46 pm
Just watched PFF talking about our season outlook. They got around to talking about the RB room and said if White misses time Bucky is going to take his volume of snaps. After wiping the tear of laughter from my face I halted the video and thought “these dudes don’t know about Sean?”
August 15th, 2025 at 2:10 pm
Tucker is great! No contest between him and White. White should be listed as no. 3 back even without the injury.
August 15th, 2025 at 2:46 pm
He’s better than White.
August 15th, 2025 at 3:02 pm
Kenton Smith — I would take your position about our backs in a debate. As runners but also in the passing game, and I think more 2 back sets will make them even more dangerous.
August 15th, 2025 at 10:21 pm
Melvin?
Yo man you feel ok? Seems you have a high fever.
Trade Bucky lol 😂 Cooks a better back? Bahaaa 😂
Just you wait and see this year .
LFG BUCS!!!!
