Rookie Bucs offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard shares a moment with new Bucs backup QB Teddy Bridgewater today.
So rookie Bucs playcaller Josh Grizzard is fooling fans with his mild-mannered young look.
That was the assessment from head coach Todd Bowles today. Kay Adams of Up And Adams pressed Bowles to tell her what the 35-year-old offensive coordinator is really like now that he’s an offensive coordinator.
Bowles obliged. Adams typically gets coaches and general managers to tell her things they might not share elsewhere.
“Grizz looks very innocent and he looks very nice, and he has a little young face, but he’s got a mean streak underneath him,” Bowles said. “He’s got a mouth that, you know, he rivals some cuss words of mine. He’s very good that way, but he’s a very intelligent guy.”
Bowles went on to say Grizzard has plenty of new wrinkles in the offense. That’s very similar to Liam Coen’s of last season.
“I appreciate that about him. He’s growing the offense the way he wants to grow it,” Bowles said.
