Report: Kyle Trask To Be Released

August 25th, 2025

Some folks got mad at Joe on the Ira Kaufman Podcast last week for declaring Kyle Trask the loser of the No. 2 quarterback battle.

C’mon, the writing wasn’t just on the wall. It was painted blood red.

Today, per well-connected Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, it became apparent to everyone that Trask will be launched from the Bucs roster.

“The Bucs plan to release quarterback Kyle Trask, per source. He will revert to IR with a shoulder issue, then work out a settlement or release soon and look for a new team. Tampa’s long-time QB2 on the move,” Fowler wrote on X.

Might Trask land on the Bucs’ practice squad? Sure. Joe would love to see it. But why exactly would that be Trask’s preferred choice after the Bucs signed seasoned Teddy Bridgewater a few weeks ago.

The Trask era appears over in Tampa. Did it ever really begin?

Trask never got to start a game or play meaningful snaps. He finished his Bucs career 4-for-11 for 28 yards. The 2021 second-round pick didn’t develop significantly, Joe believes, and Joe doesn’t think the Bucs truly prioritized his development.

Still, Trask was in an amazing quarterback incubator over the past four years that included Tom Brady, Bucco Bruce Arians, Tom Moore, Clyde Christensen, Blaine Gabbert, Liam Coen, Byron Leftwich, Thad Lewis, Dave Canales and Baker Mayfield.

  1. ModHairKen Says:

I was one of the skeptics. My apologies.

    I trust Licht and Bowles.

  2. Tony Says:

Didn’t want him from the beginning either. Another wasted pick.

  3. Slacker Says:

What an awful decision wasting a high pick on him when the team was in win now mode.

  4. CyberDilemma Says:

Too much of an introvert. No matter what Licht or Bowles might have said said outwardly, that won’t instill confidence in a GM and coach to head your team as a leader.

  5. BucsFan81 Says:

    Called this last week

  6. Hodad Says:

A blind man could see this coming. Teddy was not sick, Bowles wasn’t going to risk his new backup behind 3rd stringers. It was a done deal when Teddy went out with the starters against Pittsburgh

  7. Kennys Says:

About time they got rid of him

  8. MostlyPeacefulTraskMob Says:

    I’ve been a Bucs fan since 1987.

    That ended today.

    Screw you Todd Bowles.

  9. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Pray for Mayfields health because no one else on the roster can play.

  10. infomeplease Says:

    No surprise here.

  11. Trask To The Future Says:

    WHAT A SHOCKER.

    LOL.

Bowles favored “his guy” in Teddy it was obvious no matter how Teddy played.

To not let Trask ever play meaningful snaps behind the starting OLine, even in garbage time of games, or ever in preseason, shows how inept Bowles actually is. Even if they planned to cut him, Bowles still could have let Trask start that Pittsburgh game with the starters to put down some tape for other teams to consider. But nope, wouldn’t even let him do that.

  12. Thunder Says:

I trust Jason and Todd, But I wish Trask would of got a shot to play.
    I’m also skeptical of Teddy.

  13. BA’s Red Pen Says:

“The Trask Error,” fixed it for you Joe.

  14. Coburn Says:

Not mad, but didn’t make sense to me..if they didn’t feel confident in him then why wait so long to address it? At least one Joe initially stated e was brought in as an extra arm after some injuries to a couple camp arms.. I’m not super confident in Bridgewater coming off the couch out of retirement and he had injury issues

  15. infomeplease Says:

I don’t believe the Raiders will pick him up either. We’ll see.

  16. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

The love & hate Trask got from this fan base has been weird to experience and observe.

  17. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Backup qb in the NFL might be the best job in the world. Good money, not much pressure and you’re on a first name basis with the cheerleaders. Pretty cool.

  18. Whatevs Says:

Can someone check on Rod Munch, see if he is okay. He might be busy these next couple of days helping his boy pack the U-Haul.

  19. Whatevs Says:

Another wasted 2nd rounder. Licht can’t seem to figure this one out. Trask, Braswell, Aguayo (trade #2 to move up) and Morrison (dude will not play any quality minutes EVER)

  20. BA’s Red Pen Says:

They cut the fat kid too. A lot of Gator, errr I mean “Bucs,” fans are very upset tonight.

  21. Bojim Says:

Good luck Kyle. Knew Bridgewater would be QB2 as soon as he signed. Hope you go to a team that will let you play.

  22. JA Says:

Good. Maybe he’ll find a new coach who believes in giving all players a chance to succeed or fail. Let Bowles go with oft injured, six team Teddy.
All I asked was to give Trask the chance that Bowles was given.
You got your chance, Todd, something you never gave to Trask.
Succeed or fail, I wish Kyle the best of luck.

  23. Whatevs Says:

Anyone left from the 2021 Draft?????

  24. infomeplease Says:

Let’s face it, he was taking up a valuable roster spot and three OCs wanted nothing to do with him. Didn’t even play him in garbage time games to give him some real NFL football experience. That’s how much they wanted him.

  25. Trask To The Future Says:

    CONTINUED…

It’s very possible that Kyle’s game doesn’t translate well to the NFL. If that’s the actual case, so be it. But the fact that Kyle set records at UF against many top SEC corners that now play in the NFL, and we invested a 2nd round draft pick on him, for Pete’s sake, give the guy a chance to play behind our solid start OLine and see how he performs. The best QBs in history will have inconsistent play behind a porous OL and running for their lives on most snaps.

The fact that Bowles never gave Trask a chance behind the starting OLine will go down as one of the worst coaching/development moves in Buccaneers history. The guy surely learned a lot from Brady but never really got a chance either way to show if he could play.

And it’s obvious the “prove it” deal they have Mayfield to come to Tampa came with assurances that he’d start. There was no actual QB Competition with Trask. As many reported, Trask outplayed Mayfield that camp.

What a waste of a draft pick and inept coaching.

  26. Whatevs Says:

I didnt know the NFL “let players play”. thought they had to earn it. Couldn’t beat out Brady and Mayfield.

  27. Capt.Tim Says:

Said it here, the day he was drafted.
    And ever since.
Just a horrible waste of a second round pick. Everyone in the league knew Trask would never be an NFL QB, except Jason Licht.
So many good CBs available, yet we wasted the pick.

Trask. Spence. Heargraves. Winston. JTS. Hall.
That’s a lot of high picks wasted for nothing.

  28. Whatevs Says:

JTS, Logan Hall, and Braswell would like a word with you Trask Fan.

It is criminal what Bowles did to the,

  29. Coburn Says:

I’ll just add this feels so impulsive. I know we have a new OC, so I guess that’s part of it, but how did we suddenly decide he was an issue so recently?

  30. Bucscoott Says:

This team can’t develop Qbs in a decade!!!

  31. Bucsfan1011 Says:

With a QB incubator like that if you can not appear servicable in a pre season game you gotta go.

  32. Bucscoott Says:

    Any

  33. Bucsfan1988 Says:

    Trask is a good kid!!

The way the Bucs staff handled him for the last 4.25 years is a travesty !!!!

They never found out if he is a true gamer or not…..

If I was trash, there is no way in hell I would even consider signing on this practice squad. I guarantee you somebody will pick him up and he will be given an actual chance to show what he has.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this kid make a name for himself.

    Good luck Kyle!!
Wish we would have got a chance to see you perform more than three plays with the starting offense when it comes to meaningful snaps…

  34. Gotti-Dog-05-20-84 Says:

When Bridgewater was signed I almost posted that it appeared that Trask would either remain as #2 or be granted his release….no other options. So that he could seek out a better opportunity elsewhere and out of respect for his service time to the organization the Bucs would not entertain thoughts of putting him on the practice squad.

It was always going to be #2 or released……

  35. Whatevs Says:

Seriously. 2021 top three picks: JTS, Trask, Hainsey.

LICHT and BOWLES should be fired. What a joke

  36. Gatorsbucsfan Says:

I’m a huge gators fan and loved Trask when he was at Florida with Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney. However even going into his draft I thought he’d be one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league and a good spot starter his whole career. I hated we picked him so high and said “what the hell are we doing drafting him in the second round”. Thought he’d be a good 5th round pick and again this is from a Gators fan. I never understood why so many here would complain and demand he start over Baker. Baker is great and one of the ten best quarterbacks in the league. I wish Kyle all the best good luck Kyle.

  37. J Says:

So, all our hopes rest in Teddy. And what exactly has he proven? He knows nothing about our system, did a little something in preseason and played backup for 90% of his career. Just like signing Baker, it was a done deal. There was never a QB battle in camp as we are meant to believe. Baker was the big name signing, and so is Bridgewater. Better pray Baker won’t get hurt out there. 2 gloves won’t do much for you.

  38. LakelandBuc Says:

As l have said, on many, many occasions

Bowles and Licht knew who they wanted from day 1
They intentionally manipulated this fanbase with lies
They signed Bridgewater to have an experienced backup in place in case Baker miss time. When Baker had that hand contusion, that sealed the deal . They signed Teddy without even working him out. They also want a backup QB, who can communicate with the starting QB. It’s like having a Pro Golfer as a caddy.

I just hate the way they went about it. Bringing in Teddy, have him starting with the first team offense, against a backup defense. And then having Trask play with the truck drivers, factory workers. Since Trask been with the Bucs, he never played with the starters

    There’s a lot of cuts l don’t like
I don’t believe this team is going anywhere
Too much favoritism, underhand dealing going on

  39. Bartow Buc Says:

This may be a mistake by Coach Bowles but …….. I trust his judgment. Kyle Trask has worked very hard and I really believe he will succeed somewhere in the NFL. I believe he has what it takes to be a winner wherever he goes.
    Good Luck Kyle Trask !!

    Go Bucs 2025 !!

  40. infomeplease Says:

If he has so much upside…The Raiders, Jaguars, or Panthers will pick him up. If not… then give it a rest KT lovers.

  41. capnhowdy Says:

What a great use of a 2nd round pick Jason and Bruce.

  42. Jarrett Says:

we wasted a 2nd round pick on this guy and he never started for us

    thanks alot jason LIGHT

trade for and pay micah parsons please football gods!!!!

  43. Tbbucs3 Says:

    RIP Kyle Trask mob

  44. Lightningvinny Says:

Well if the raiders who need a QB2 pick him up we know we can play a little ,,,, if the raiders (or jags or carolina) don’t make a move we know Trask can’t do it ,,, this will tell the real truth

  45. Jarrett Says:

Bridgewater threw a medicine ball to McMillian, got him on IR and then got rewarded with a roster spot…

    only in tampa !

  46. firethecannons Says:

Hope he lands somewhere that he can play. Would love to see what he can do in go time.

  47. Dewey Selmon Says:

Who is the only QB in Buccaneer history to recieve a 2nd contract? Even the Mike Glennon mob had some stats to justify their cult

  48. KABucs Says:

My preference would have been to keep Trask as the backup because he’s younger and has a stronger arm than Bridgewater, plus he knows the system pretty well, but I kind of go with the bosses on this one. They see more and know more than I do. I had no strong attachment to Trask but I also didn’t hate the guy. Thought he could have been a serviceable backup this season, we’ve just been very lucky with our starting QBs health since we had TB and BM. I sure hope it continues.

Would have been nice to draft St Brown (think we can use him right about now?) or some other keeper in 2021 with that second round pick, but a lot of teams missed on St Brown. Licht has drafted great the last few years but the 2021 draft is totally forgettable.

  49. jcscycles Says:

I suspected our new OC has alot more influence than we all.thought.

  50. Weebs10 Says:

Most of the usual suspects predicting doom and gloom because we’re cutting a backup qb y’all are funny

  51. shaduckdow Says:

He will be a Raider by the end of the week.

  52. Tbbucs3 Says:

Hilarious how so many Bucs fans thought he should’ve been named the starter over Mayfield. LMAO!

Some of us knew Mayfield was the answer and Trask was no good the whole time. Others Aka Rod Munch and the Gator crew did not.

  53. Allen Lofton Says:

Kyle Trask was too mild mannered. That’s his personality. It’s hard to lite a fire for that type personality.

Mayfield is polar opposite of Trask. Mayfield’s personality motivates everyone around him. There’s no quit in him and he motivates those around him.

Mr No Biscuit No Risk It was the one who drafted Trask. He saw something that wasn’t there.

Now that’s now behind us. On to better things.

  54. Tbbucs3 Says:

Trask to the Future is creating a JoeRaidersFan account as we speak.

  55. Slacker Says:

And how does Jackson get cut? This team has nothing at ILB. Guy completely balled out in preseason

  56. Jeffs grandpa Says:

    Let the crying begin

  57. alldaway Says:

Wishing Trask the best but he was drafted one round too early and put in a bad situation. He had no chance to succeed as this team was in win now mode and has been for some time.

Teddy b and Mayfield tend to be on the smaller side the Bucs OL pass pro has to be on point.

  58. Nillyboy133 Says:

    Well this is a bust

  59. DBS Says:

When the team announces it I will consider it true. But until then it is one reporter.

  60. Aceofaerospace Says:

Trask will not be unemployed long.

  61. MelvinJunior Says:

I knew that he’d be released versus traded, if they decided to move on from him. He had zero trade value whatsoever. The only way they were going to be able to get anything for him was going to be if they could get at least TWO teams who wanted him to begin with. There are several ‘backup-level’ QB’s around the league right now, that teams are wanting to move on from, so why give up ANYTHING then, if you are one of the very few who are even ‘looking’ for one in the first place.

  62. JA Says:

Ever notice how Todd Bowles is AN OVER THE HILL, OVERRATED HEAD COACH? He tried in New York but COULDN’T MAKE IT IN THE BIG APPLE!! NOBODY WATCHES HIM ANYMORE! RETIRE NOW, TODD, BEFORE YOUR RATINGS HIT ROCK BOTTOM!
    Signed,
    Guess Who

  63. BucaneroJim Says:

Teddy was “sick”. Kyle has a “shoulder injury”. Not being able to snort ammonia or nicotine, Baker is slower than Trask this year and goes to rehab. Teddy comes in for Baker, but blows a knee and tries stem cell therapy from Jensen’s handler. Greene switch’s from receiver back to QB1 for the Bucs and wins the Super Bowl! Our coaches have a plan!!!

  64. LakelandBuc Says:

The Bucs and Mayfield live to pad the stats. They will probably reward him a fat bag. But Mayfield, Licht, and Bowles has won 19 games in two seasons, and one playoff win. It’s time this team is the 72 Dolphins. They are a mere .500 team, playing in a .500 conference. I don’t expect.much more from them this season..
They are bringing back trash players to a trash defense. And they still have the Trash defensive playcaller.

And the offense is not consistent
An inconsistent QB, with a new OC, who never called plays before. Too many key players are missing on offense

I doubt if the beat Atlanta

Sounds like you are defining Todd Bowles.

  66. adam from ny Says:

    whaaoow…!

not even to the raiders for a lousy late pick…go figure…

didn’t vibe this one at all

  67. JD Still Says:

If I was in ownership I would be upset, You pay good money , millions of dollars for a coach and millions of dollars more for a quarterback to be developed and the coach refuses to even try to develop that quarterback , in fact goes out of his way to keep from developing him , costing the owner millions of dollars and the journeyman that the coach absolutely luuuuuuvvvs, has done nothing in the two years where he has choked in the playoffs , but the coach still luuuuuuuvs him and wants the owner to pay him millions of dollars more for nothing but promises of doing better in the future ! LOL ! Oh well, You can’t fix stupid! Congratulations Kyle on your escape from this insane asylum, and on behalf of the people who have seen this incredulous clown show , We apologize and wish you well, You are a man of great honor for putting up with what you have had to put up with and not responding to the uncalled for and ignorant insults hurled your way, here’s hoping some lucky team realizes your worth and give you the chance you so richly deserve to lead them to a SuperBowl ,(it’s happened many times before with other quarterbacks that Tampa let go and they still haven’t learned).

  68. adam from ny Says:

    ILB & OL additions needed

  69. Capt.Tim Says:

    BucsFan1988,
You are sooo right. The Bucs never gave poor, poor Kyle a chance to show what he could do!!

If only the Team would gather together during the week, to go over what they will do Sunday! The could do it every week. They could call it “Rehersal”. Then the team could have watched poor Kyle during the week!

Or- the could rehearse during the Spring and Summer! They could call it”
Season where we aren’t playing”! Then the Bucs could have watched poor Kyle rehearse during the months where they aren’t playing. Months of watching him!

Or they could rehears and play games that don’t count! Right before the season starts. They could call it” The season that doesn’t count, before the season starts!” Then poor Kyle could have got in game experience in game situations!

But no. The Bucs only watch poor, poor Kyle 16 games a year. And all he did was sit on the Bench!

Poor kid. SOOOOOO Much talent- but the Bucs never watched him. Poor, poor, Kyle. He never stood a chance. Those Evil Bucs! They had it in for him

  70. JBBUCS_06 Says:

I didn’t think it would be this soon, but figured eventually. Teddy 2gloves gets the nod. His game experience won over and I’m certain that other teams wanted Teddy vs Kyle and we will need to keep more WR, OL on the 53 due to Wirfs and Godwin.

I’m trusting the move. Feel comfortable w/ Teddy vs Trask in a pinch.

  71. buc4evr Says:

Trask was no great loss, but often injured Teddy may not be any better? Think he will end up on the Raiders as they need a backup.

  72. jcscycles Says:

I suspected they shopped him, but had no takers. This has been in the works for a long time.

  73. BucThis Says:

The Raiders will be interesting to see if they pick up Trask. Brady had his pick of backups and had them bring in Gabbert all 3 years. I think that tells you what Brady thought of Trask.

  74. BucsfaninOregon Says:

Well, it all turned out as predicted by many here. Trask will soon be gone. An Over drafted (another!!!) player that should have been camp meat trying to make the squad. Instead he was a high pick we wasted that took a roster spot. Every team has them. My bitch is they did not cut him sooner. And, that is my complaint against Licht and Bowles. They draft some guy high and whether or not he is any good they keep him until rookie contract is up>>>>>>>>STUPID!

My “other” team, the 49rs, screwed up grossly when they traded 2 #1 picks for Trey Lance. But, they evaluated what they had and dumped Lance to the Cowboys for a late pick. Licht and Bowles would have stuck with him until year 5. The 49rs saw what they had done and tried to correct it. The Bucs try to pretend high bad picks don’t exist and keep Bozo’s like JTS, Noah Spence and a bunch of similar position picks. Look back, there is a whole bunch of them.

Bottom line for Trask is they knew he was no good and never tried to fix it. Ignore he’s on the roster and keep him until they had to cut him. Sorry, Traskies, but that’s they way it is.

  75. LakelandBuc Says:

Baker and Bowles is 19-15 with the Bucs
Hardly something you write home to mother about

And l don’t see them being better this season

Matter of fact, they may take a nosedive

  76. ATLBuc Says:

I’m happy for Kyle. At least he will get a fair shot at becoming an NFL starting QB. Ever since that so-called competition that was gifted to Baker, Kyle has not been allowed to play with the starters, in public. I like Teddy but he’s been injury prone so I’m wondering who the #3 QB will be, Shaddeur?

  77. Durango 95 Says:

Always thought of Bowles was a mediocre head coach but a man of good character. Turns out that he still a mediocre head coach and now a mediocre liar. Has there ever been a QB drafted in the 2nd round that outside of injury that never had single start in the regular season or much less an ample chance to play with a teams starting unit, in the pre-season? Not sure. Guess it’s not much of a surprise. Has a Bowles led team ever developed a young QB? Well, If nothing else, we can watch and see if Bowles can snap his annual four game losing streak this year.

  78. Capt.Tim Says:

If only we had turned the team over to noodle armed Trask, instead of our Probowl QB!
That would have put us over the top!

I can’t believe some of you don’t drown in the rain. Just staring up until you fill
    Up!

  79. Greg Says:

So strange. I don’t know what Kyle Trask is or isn’t. I do know that when Brady was here he was essentially ignored – not developed. It seems to me that Arians/ Bowles didn’t want him. He was just kind of a forgotten toy in the corner. There had to be a behind the scenes disagreement between Licht and his team and the coaches. I just can’t wrap my head around it otherwise. Now we have a situation where Trask just got a contract for this year in March with 1.34 million in guaranteed money. 6 months ago? And he’s being released and that 1.34 million just goes in the trash? In terms of NFL contracts that’s not much … but still. It doesn’t sound to me as though management and the coaches are on the same page. and then Teddy Bridgewater ? He’s been retired for 2 years ?!?!?!? He had barely marginal stats in 20 and 21 (4 years ago!!) and hadn’t done squat for the 3 seasons before that? This is the kind of thing that Todd Bowles does not do well and there are several examples of players that were here for far too long solely because Bowles likes them personally. I don’t know. This is all weird.

  80. jcscycles Says:

And he won’t go on to be the next Steve Young now. This was an Ariens choice, Jason was just giving BA what he wanted.

  81. Usedtocould Says:

It’s about time, stopped winning superbowls as soon as he signed. Loser from a loser “university”!

  82. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

The Bucs gave the kid 5 years to show his stuff. Clearly he didn’t process fast enough, learn well enough, release the pass fast enough, or something – but he got paid well and was given his chance (in practice). I blame no one. Draft picks often don’t work out. I sure Licht would like that pick back worse than any of us.

  83. Inwoodjeremy Says:

I think you got to get somebody in the building who can develop specific positions like QB and Edge before using draft capital on those groups. I’m wishing Chris Brasswell the best to shock the league this year like Jason says. To me so far he is JTS v2 at best.

  84. Slacker Says:

Noodle arm Teddy is not the answer

  85. Slacker Says:

Bring in a gunslinger like Mike White

  86. UKBuccaneer Says:

Can we stop pretending that KT wasn’t given the opportunity to prove himself? He was with the Bucs for FIVE years. He had more time than most.

I’m sure he’s a good kid, I’m sure he’s a great backup – but if he was a starter, he’d have beaten BM out of attracted interest from elsewhere.

  87. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

Anyone with eyes could tell that TB was better than Trask.

TB looked better after 10 days of learning the offense than Trask had ever looked in 5 years here.

  88. MelvinJunior Says:

“I don’t believe this team is going anywhere. Too much favoritism, underhand dealing going on.” – LakelandBuc

Yep. My exact same thoughts. I have ZERO confidence in Bowles. Also, I am not buying that whole ‘media narrative’ around him as being just sooooo well-respected, very liked, & etc. It is nothing but a BUNCH of bologna. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could spit. I think he is really stubborn, petty, vindictive, and sneaky. I believe that people in the media just say all of those ‘nice things’ about him, ONLY because there is not a whole helluva lot of good they can say about his true coaching ability. Ever notice just HOW MANY excuses they always make for HIM!? I sure do. EVEN, while playing in THIS Division and with this roster. And, wasn’t he a ‘supposed’ Defensive GURU!? Hmmmmm…

  89. Cyberdilemma Says:

For everyone hyperventilating that Licht wasted a second round pick on a QB that we got 4 years’ use out of as a backup don’t forget the second round kicker we got one year’s use out of.

  90. Trask To The Future Says:

    TBBUCS3,

You love running your mouth towards me but I’d bet anything I’m a bigger Bucs fan than you are. I’m not going anywhere.

I was at the Super Bowl in San Diego in 2003 and watched us win our 1st Lombardi, were you? I’d also bet I’ve attended a lot more Bucs games than you have.

Yet you love to run your mouth just because I supported Trask who we invested a 2nd round draft pick in and who set records in the best conference in college football. I think the guy got a raw deal in Tampa and I stand by that.

    GO BUCS!

  91. Mike Says:

    Let’s face the truth.
You can believe what you want to so you can feel better. The truth is trask was never given a fighting chance, it’s baker who is calling all the shots which is odd considering the bucs are 19 and 15
In his two years. He is threatened by true competition. Trask is an coach Bruce A. Guy and baker is a TB guy so is teddy.
This team, no matter how much talent it has will not win a NFC championship let alone a super bowl. I have been a bucs fan since the beginning and have seen this before ie: Steve Young. Brady won a super bowl with less talent and baker will not with great talent. Baker is good for two things at the end of the day causing talent to leave and coaches to get fired. Although Todd is not a head coach he is a joke. I can’t wait to hear all you fantasy minded fans to say wait until next year like you have since Brady left.
Baker is so arrogant he don’t need to play preseason and he demands the OC is on the field not in the box. I will be praying God brings him down a couple of notches by the way teddy collect your money and go back to coaching when your year is up

  92. Whatevs Says:

Or the 2nd round CB with two hip surgeries, two hamstring injuries and never played a down in the NFL. Thought they drafted him because his dad was buddies with one of the coaches.

Our 2nd rounders suck: Hall, Braswell

  93. geno711 Says:

So, Trask was the first QB drafted by the Bucs that ever signed a second contract — Now it still does count — but really feel like it should not count if he isn’t on the original 53 man roster for this season.

  94. Whatevs Says:

Bowles was teammates with Morrison’s father and has shown significant confidence in the young cornerback, praising his intelligence, athleticism, and potential to contribute to the team’s defense.

  95. Whatevs Says:

    2nd round charity picks

  96. Kidfloflo Says:

Bridgewater has played in 2 playoff games, has over 15,000 yds passing and 75 tds….Trask has zero games played period and what 60 yds passing?? Can’t have that as your backup in a meaningful season…How is this even a discussion

  97. Beeej Says:

Clearly they see a problem with him that isn’t evident to the casual observer. I wish he’d had a chance to play a regular season game

  98. Whatevs Says:

Top 5 offense with Mayfield last year, lead us to the playoffs with a bottom 5 defense hanging around his neck. Baker is a stud. Hopefully Trask remember to give the football back before he leaves one buc. I think he is still holding on to it since the last snap

  99. Whatevs Says:

Can’t wait to see the Trask era start at some NFL cesspool of a franchise. Doubt he will ever see the field.

  100. View from 132 Says:

    So… Bazelak made the team?!

  101. Weebs10 Says:

LakelandBuc hates the buccaneers. Constant whining and belly aching and doom and gloom predictions from you are so old

  102. mj Says:

he got 5 million to carry a clip board not a bad gig

    seriously best wishes Kyle
we will see if he ever gets his chance

the coaches didn’t ever trust kyle here

    bazelak looked better honestly

  103. adam from ny Says:

trask somehow simply got sandwiched in between the brady & baker eras…

it just happened, it wasn’t on purpose…

brady fell into our lap…then baker did too…

and due to lack of game experience, with a superbowl window open for us, an amazing front office didn’t want to risk it and secure the experienced teddy…

maybe trasky just needs a fresh start in a new qb room…

the numbers game here were never in his favor somehow

  104. LakelandBuc Says:

The Bucs were Top 5 offense in padding stats in garbage time. How many times did the offense actually sealed a win. Against Washington in the playoffs, Baker lovers say the offense wasn’t on the field . much, because of the defense.
    .
They had 7 possessions to Washington 8, l believe
But Washington made the best of their possessions
Controlling the clock, resting their defense.
The Bucs offense choked like a . Muslim, eating a ham sandwich. Now that’s something serious

Quit making excuses for the trash on this roster
All trash smells, regardless of where’s it at

  105. Joe Says:

I didn’t think it would be this soon

He’s been through five training camps.

  106. jcscycles Says:

I just KNEW that someone was going to drop Steve Young’s name into the discussion. I can state with great confidence that this is not that.

  107. UKBuccaneer Says:

Joe, the casual racism creeping on this site is pretty nauseating
Joe’s not seeing that, though it might have been deleted by the moderator. –Joe

  108. UKBuccaneer Says:

Classy, Lakeland. Very classy. Slow clap.

  109. Lightningvinny Says:

That’s spring league is where Trask can make his mark ,,, he’s got a ring and millions , not bad for a non playing back up ,,, maybe the Bucs put him on the practice squad if no one picks him up , it would give our D a chance to get some sacks

  110. MikeBuc Says:

IF anyone thinks this ends the whining about trask in comments guess again

you can already see it in Today’s comments. The same crew are just going to take it out on QB1 and Bowles. If Baker slips in mud on a rainy day it will vindicate their wrath regarding Trask

and they won’t say out loud that they WANT the Bucs to lose in game thread. They will just predict it as if tis not their own hope.

  111. BigBoiBuc Says:

Hope KT gets a shot to see if he can play in this league or not. He’s owed that. He wasn’t the answer in Tampa…… but Teddy isn’t either.

  112. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Capt Tim is vying for the Jackass of the Day award and he just might win it 🤷🏻‍♂️…

    Bro, 4 words…
WE TALKIN’ ABOUT PRACTICE when it comes to your comments on Trask…
Allen Iverson said it best …

You along with everyone else has ZEROOOOO clue on how he would perform in a game with meaningful plays…..

He participated in THREE plays that were meaningful. THATS IT!!! 3 freaken plays!!!

We don’t know zilch if this guy is a gamer or not…..

    That’s where Bowles FAILED!!!

You keep Trask around for 4 years, gave him a 2nd contract, and you still can’t answer that question….

    That’s the problem I have here…..

  113. Pewter Power Says:

Shoulder issue? Is that Medical term for no hard feelings?

  114. IrishTony Says:

Don’t blame Licht for this pick and God knows I ripped Licht between 2014 and 2019 but Trask was Arian’s pick. Arian was behind the curve in some ways about QB talent as we moved into the 2020’s.

  115. BucaneroJim Says:

Steve Young had his ups and downs. He had 2 lousy years with Tampa, but SF saw to give him a chance, sat on the bench 4 years behind Montana. Once he got in the game, it still took time to click. Comparing him to Trask does not work. Trask has not played.

  116. Tackleblockwin Says:

I’m all for everyone debating Trask getting cut. However, once we start comparing him to Steve Young we have gone way too far lol.

  117. Coburn Says:

I’m a baker fan and hoping he has a great year. I’m more concerned how a coaching staff gets to the point they suddenly realize near the end of an offseason they don’t like their backup and call a guy off his couch. Granted teddy didn’t get suspended from coaching until July, but surely if it was a weakness they should have know by free agency/draft period. Grizz has new duties but he’s been here since last year. Wsa there internal dispute about the position? Dd Bridgewater just blow everyone away that much? Looks incompetent to me. What was the plan if Bridgwater didn’t get suspended? Just that good?

  118. KABucs Says:

WHOA! A lot of posts for the cutting of a backup QB that barely played any real games. Griffin is jealous out there somewhere.

  119. IrishTony Says:

Trask was not good in practice either and when they saw him with the starters in practice when Mayfield was injured was pretty telling. I felt like they never had anyone to compare him to as a backup. They should have done this a long time ago.

  120. Bakerfan Says:

KT has had 4+ years to show case his talents. If he gets picked up we will probably see the same. I actually like him

  121. Pewter Pirate Says:

I liked Trask, but he is no longer a Buc. Fan of the team not a player. Wish him well unless he starts against Tampa. Go Bucs!

  122. Dumbstruckbuc Says:

These are all troll posts right? There can’t be that much outrage over a glorified clipboard holder. I know he was the second coming of our lord and savior Tom Brady, like most UF quarterbacks tend to be, but damn…

  123. GoneGator Says:

Kyle will probably be a decent backup somewhere/s. Frankly there are worse career paths.

  124. IrishTony Says:

I’m confident this team will win 11-12 games, win the division, win the divisional and conference round. This is a talented, character laden team and the coach has substantive soft skills. As far as Trask is concerned he’s never done anything for my team other than taking up roster space.

  125. buc4evr Says:

This is probably a good thing for Trask. Maybe he can play for a team where he has a chance to start.

I question why the Bucs drafted him to be honest. As a gator fan, the one thing you must never do is draft a UF QB in the NFL. Only one in history ever made it to the SB and it was on the back of that teams defense. All Other gator QBs seem to flame out.

  126. Bucs4Ever Says:

Another wasted pick by licht…smdh…dude is only here bc SF refused to sign Brady.

Licht is a LOSING GM overall and owes his job to Brady.

    Yikes.

  127. Oxycondomns Says:

how delusional are those gator fans? been calling he sucks for years now since his last bowl game he played in where he crapped himself

  128. Steve Jackson Says:

you have to love it make around $7m in career earnings and produce these stats.

Trask never got to start a game or play meaningful snaps. He finished his Bucs career 4-for-11 for 28 yards. The 2021 second-round pick didn’t develop significantly, Joe believes, and Joe doesn’t think the Bucs truly prioritized his development.

  129. Scott Says:

wow. Did not see that coming. The kid has potential, but I do think Teddys style of play may be more steady at this time. I hope he has a good career. He can make some really nice throws. I think he gets picked up.

  130. BayouBullet Says:

Someone needs to do a wellness check on Rod Munch.

  131. RustyRhinos Says:

Did anyone really watch Bridgewaters last few NFL games he played QB? McMillan saw what Bridgewater is good at, throwing it high over the WR head so he has to jump to get it. Or it is a missed opportunity. I just hope he doesn’t get another player injured from his lack of ball placement skills he has obviously lost. Yeah he has 9 years of NFL experience and out of those 9 seasons he only completed 3 full seasons….

I feel we traded in a newer model steady Eddie vehicle for a known old clunker… My honest opinion.

  132. Steve Jackson Says:

BTW what a bust of a draft. JTS in first round and then Trask in 2nd.

  133. Pmike Says:

Get that loser outta the bay!

    Go Bucs!!

  134. JP Says:

Trask couldn’t beat out Bazelak…. not a big fan of teddy, rather have kc’s #2…. amazing how rarely anyone brings up Baze….

  135. Tbbucs3 Says:

Credit to ATLBuc for being among the most delusional Trask stans around….still cant accept the fact that Baker won the QB competition fair and square….

And we now have a top 10 quarterback because of it.

  136. Oxycondomns Says:

the real competition was for 3rd string qb, and baez swept to floor with trask

  137. MikeBuc Says:

    @coburn

I think you answered your own question. Bridgewater became available. They had their way of finding out he could still throw the ball and he has ton loads of experience compared to Trask.

This wasn’t about changing their mind about Trask. Bowles already told us what he thought of Trask when he had an injured Baker playing hurt rather than putting trask in I think it was the Carolina game

He was sayig a 30% functional Baker was still better than Trask.

  138. BayouBullet Says:

Kenny Pickett traded to the raiders.

  139. Pmike Says:

    Ouchhhh

  140. JP Says:

Think we have 6hrs. to grab tannehill

  141. JA Says:

Five years ago, WFAN in New York listed the worst head coaches in team history. First was Rich Kotite, and he deserved it. Second was Lou Holtz in 1976.
    Third was this guy …

There’s some recency bias here, but among Jets coaches with at least 10 games, only the two below produced a lower winning percentage than Bowles’ .375. Even the 10-6 mark in his inaugural 2015 campaign ended with an ugly thud, a 22-17 loss at Buffalo that cost the Jets a playoff berth. The Jets were so unprepared to play that day–my lasting impressions were of Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis getting torched by Bills receiver Sammy Watkins throughout a windy day and Bowles holding out ailing running back Chris Ivory all first half but then allowing him to get hit on a meaningless 7-yard run on the final play. It only got worse (14-34) from there. You name it, Bowles was lousy at it—clock management, halftime adjustments, team discipline, staff strength, player development, etc. His clueless look on the sideline while the Jets burned timeouts on defense enraged fans. Some people were meant to rise no higher than coordinator.

Sound familiar? Sorry, I’m more upset with Bowles today than ever before …
    He lost my respect.

  142. Knothead71 Says:

My only question is why was Bridgewater volunteering to coach high school ball instead of QB whatever in the NFL?
Not saying cutting Trask loose is a mistake, But dang! A retired, not ever great QB is our starter if Mayfield goes down? I don’t know, boys. I guess we’ll find out.

  143. MikeBuc Says:

“Kenny Pickett traded to the raiders.”

so Tom still says nuh-huh to Trask.

  144. Coburn Says:

@mike Ir that’s really the case then they never had much consideration for backup qb and screams incompetence. Talk about making it up as you go. A retired teddy being suspended shouldn’t be your plan for backup qb. Unless they really did try to replace him and multiple avenues all fell through

  145. LakelandBuc Says:

I seriously doubt if the Bucs make the playoffs this season
They have too many injuries on offense, to key players

And they brought back 90% of the trash from last season defense. I just don’t see any potential in this group

    Count me out

  146. Saskbucs Says:

Good thing everyone knows this was a terrible pick to begin with. Going for back to back SBs and you draft a QB behind Brady. Ridiculous at the time and ridiculous now. A 2nd round WR toy for Brady helps mitigate the Godwin AB losses… DB helps… OL helps replace Jensen… still can’t believe how dumb that was in win now mode.

  147. Couch Fan Says:

I like Trask but It’s not that big a deal. We still have a choke artist at QB1. A terrible defense and a ReTodd for a HC.

  148. Capt ahab Says:

I feel bad for Trask, here’s a guy who by many looked better in a QB battle with Mayfield. Has Trask ever played behind the first string offensive line? Maybe his lone snaps in a game where he dropped a dime in the corner of the end zone that was dropped.
The Bucs are going to roll with Teddy made of glass Bridgewater as the back-up.?? I’m an FSU guy who totally respected Kyle Trask at Florida. When the lights are on he’s always a gamer. To me this is a bad move by Licht.

  149. Lightningvinny Says:

Trask to sign with either Birmingham or Ottawa

  150. Ds Says:

Someone check on the Trask truthers lol truth is Trask has been around for a long time and showed nothing lol if he wasn’t a 2nd pick he would have been gone sooner lol

  151. VOT Says:

Look, it is what it is – he is a slow reaction time, average arm strength QB that was wayyyyyyy over drafted

The issue isn’t Kyle, it’s what we wasted on him and why we hung on to him for so long

  152. White Tiger Says:

    Trask-Force is now leaderless.

Nothing against Kyle, but his Gator fanbase was ahead of Team Priime’s…maybe it was the model? At any rate, Trask-Force fans are more cultish and may never get over the fact he couldn’t live up to their NFL fantasies in Tampa.

Cheer up, I bet he makes the practice squad (cuz that’s not the compliment you think it is)!

  153. SC Bucs Fan Says:

I cannot believe how many panties are in a twist over cutting a guy who never played

  154. Dom>Licht Says:

Panties are in a wad because it was an absolute waste of a draft pick when there were so many other needs….

  155. Dadgumit Says:

Wouln’t have brought him in as a rookie FA. Absolutely stupid!

  156. Rod Munch Says:

Teddy ‘Hospital Ball’ Bridgewater sends a young star WR to IR in a neck brace for half the season, then calls in sick, and gets the job. LOL!

  157. BayouBullet Says:

    The clown show has arrived

  158. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Dom get over it that was years ago

  159. sunny Says:

    mike

“Baker is good for two things at the end of the day causing talent to leave and coaches to get fired. Although Todd is not a head coach he is a joke. I can’t wait to hear all you fantasy minded fans to say wait until next year like you have since Brady left.
Baker is so arrogant he don’t need to play preseason and he demands the OC is on the field not in the box.”

that’s ridiculous considering the fact that more than one player has said that they signed in large part because of baker. the only “talent” that there was any question about with him was obj but as seen after he went to another team, he was washed af. baker also had a huge part in canales and coen getting head coaching positions and stefanski winning coach of the year. foh.

and demanding the oc is on the field?? lol ok. grizz wanted to try both, and said he didn’t like being in the box. most play callers (especially top tier ones) prefer being on the field.

you trask fans are batsh!t crazy af. trask seems like a nice guy, i don’t think he’s hurting too much with the millions he got to essentially hold a clipboard for years. i wonder if you all will accept that he’s not all that and there wasn’t some kind of conspiracy to hold him back when no other teams are knocking at his door? it says something that neither the raiders, jags, or panthers wanted him when they had the chance. he’s not a good fit with today’s offenses-he’s a pure pocket passer with very limited mobility.

  160. LakelandBuc Says:

The Todd and Baker show 19-15, with one playoff win with

And Bucs fans are happy with these results.
It’s comical, to say the least, satisfied with the crumbs

    This is really ridiculous

  161. James Says:

Somehow the dude who threw a hospital pass for McMillan is kept over the backup who was solid

  162. LakelandBuc Says:

Now they gonna pay $50 million for one playoff win

This team is a joke, management is pathetic

  163. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Well that was a wash…

Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2021 draft picks:
    * Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, LB, Washington (Round 1, Pick 32)
    * Kyle Trask, QB, Florida (Round 2, Pick 64)
    * Robert Hainsey, OL, Notre Dame (Round 3, Pick 95)
    * Jaelon Darden, WR, North Texas (Round 4, Pick 129)
    * K.J. Britt, LB, Auburn (Round 5, Pick 176)
    * Chris Wilcox, CB, BYU (Round 7, Pick 251)
    * Grant Stuard, LB, Houston (Round 7, Pick 259)

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.” – Henry Ford

  164. Trask To The Future Says:

    LAKELANDBUC,

You touched on something that none of the Baker-Homers want to actually admit…

Regardless if Trask every succeeds in the NFL or not, it’s crazy how so many Bucs fans don’t actually know the REALITY of the Baker Mayfield’s production for us…

How many games did Baker have last season where he struggled to throw for 100 yards in the 1st half when the game was on the line? So many. But no one wants to put any attention towards that.

How many yards & TDs did Mayfield rack up late in games when we were down 2+ scores and the game was already out of reach and teams went to a softer Defense? No one wants to put any attention towards that.

HERE’S A STAT NO ONE WANTS TO PUT ANY ATTENTION ON…

Every seen the breakdown of Mayfield’s QB RATINGS BY QUARTER? Spoiler Alert: They’re terrible. His 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter QB ratings on average were TERRIBLE. His 4th quarter ratings were by far the highest which brought up his overall average and made him look better than he was. WHY THE 4TH QUARTER? Because so many games were in garbage time as mentioned above.

I actually LIKE Baker Mayfield and want him to succeed so the team succeeds. But… he’s been a bit of FOOL’S GOLD production-wise so far. There’s a reason Licht didn’t reward him with a contract that’s in the same range as the top QBs in the NFL — there’s a legit argument AGAINST overpaying him based on his actual production.

Mayfield is NOT elite. Not yet anyway. His overall stats don’t tell the whole story. Anyone that watched our games last season know he struggled against most of the better teams we played (not always of course) and put up those barely-100-yards first halves.

He’s no where near as good as people say he has been for us (so far).

  165. Rod Munch Says:

I love the fact that the Bucs knew they were going to cut Trask, and they didn’t want Bridgewater going out and playing with the scrubs, where he’d almost certainly like look like trash behind a bad offensive line. So instead his only playing time was with starters to protect him, vs a backup defense, then after that they claim he was ‘sick’ so they don’t have to try to explain why they’re keeping Bridgewater when he went 3/11 for 24 yards and a INT. Some real amateur garbage pushed by Bowles with this. If they didn’t want Trask, they should have cut him weeks ago and brought in someone else. Ballzack is not a legit NFL prospect, the guy can only make one throw, if he’s ever on the active roster this year, you can just go ahead and call off the season.

  166. Capt ahab Says:

Teddy Bridgewater is the ultimate journey man QB, he was so good that no team wanted him so he coached high school football. Having experience is fine and good, what kind of experience is kinda important isn’t it? Experience at losing, experience at being fragile.
Not at all happy that Teddy is now our back-up.

  167. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Jason Licht and his guys took their lumps after the 2021 draft, but they stepped up big time. They figured out what works, stopped chasing bad fits, and started picking ballers and leaders. Now, the Bucs are plugging in draft picks who produce from day one. This crew learned fast, and they’re building a team the right way—LFG!

  168. Bantry Says:

So much for the idea of Trask going to the Raiders. They just traded a 5th round pick to Cleveland for Pickett.

  169. Rusty Shackleford Says:

    Kyle Trash.

  170. Rusty Shackleford Says:

The low-IQ portion of the Bucs fan base always rage posts on this site.

  171. sunny Says:

kyle trask was so great that not a single coach or front office person that saw him in every practice and preseason game wanted him even as their backup. the trask cultists are delusional.

for those of you who keep talking about baker’s stats all being in “garbage time” – newsflash: a football game is four quarters long. every other qb with similar stats as baker also played in the fourth quarter of games-especially if they were behind. baker led several drives in the 4th quarter to take the lead, but was completely let down by the trash defense that couldn’t even hold onto a lead for 30 seconds.

  172. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Never draft a QB from Florida! The Gators (as well as Ohio State) for whatever reason can’t produce good NFL talent at the QB position. UF QB’s always wind up as busts. Tebow, Wuerfell, Spurrier, Grossman, Kerwin Bell, Chris Leak, Kyle Trash, Shane Matthews, etc… never do anything in the NFL and never become franchise QB’s.

  173. Capt ahab Says:

Rod, you are spot on, Trask deserved to start with the first string, not journeyman Teddy. If Teddy had to endure playing behind that terrible 2nd string offensive line it wouldn’t look pretty. As said before, there’s a good reason why no NFL team wanted him and he resorted to coaching high school ball.

  174. BayouBullet Says:

This site has long been over run with wackadoos and nut jobs. What sane person says their QB that threw for 4500 yards and 40+ tds sucks.

  175. Greg Says:

Teddy is obviously the right choice. Gotta say the quiet part out loud though….if Baker gets hurt, we are screwed anyway. Whoever the backup is is irrelevant

  176. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Baker gets hurt and Ryan Tannehill is put on standby.

  177. Pmike Says:

I don’t think we need to call the season over because we cut a guy that’s never played a full regular season game.

  178. Oxycondomns Says:

trask did start with the ones in practice when baler went down. thats what led to the bucs going after bridgewater. there was a near mutiny on the sidelines . bucs had to do something to appease the players on the team.

  179. Godlovesbucs Says:

I can’t believe there are people saying the (mis) handling of a career backup qb is one of the biggest blunders in bucs history. Really???? Not the Bo Jackson deal? Not haynesworth? Revis? Nicks? Steve young???

I dont have skin in the game between UF and FSU, but for some people their gator bias is showing big time.

    ‘near mutiny on the sidelines’

    LOL!

  181. Whatevs Says:

Is Rod Munch actually Kyle Trask?

I know Rod posts during games, but Kyle is always on the tablet.

Maybe Kyle actually was on JBF instead of looking at game film.

    Mystery Solved

  182. Tbbucs3 Says:

Rough night for Albert and Alberta…

  183. Rusty Shackleford Says:

UCF has put better QB talent into the NFL than the Florida Gators. Never ever draft a QB from Florida unless it is a 6th round pick or later.

  184. sunny Says:

it’s so weird how the trask mob thinks that something was owed to trask other than the millions they paid him. lots of backup quarterbacks don’t play with the starters, why do you all think trask was somehow entitled to it? they started teddy with the second team because they knew after five years of watching trask practice (including with the starters when baker sat for a couple of practices) that trask wasn’t it. why is that so hard for you all to understand? teddy came in after like 10 minutes and played better than trask did after five years. bazelack played better with guys who will probably be delivering amazon packages than trask did with the second and third string.

  185. Rusty Shackleford Says:

Rod Munch is a troll who is still upset that Bucs-Rays-Bolts blocked him on every other site.

  186. BucfanDMV Says:

Hopefully he can go somewhere and get a chance to compete … he was never getting a shot here especially since Bowles wanted Mayfield when he was coaching the Jets so he never stood a chance.

  187. David Says:

    Wow
Thought he did pretty good in the preseason games but nothing like the experience of a vet like Teddy I guess. And like Joe said, he did not have a good training camp. Oh well, there goes are wasted second round pick.
    Good luck.

So even the Brady Raiders aren’t impressed enough to offer a 7th round pick for him as their back up

  188. Whatevs Says:

Rusty, What did trolls ever do to you?

  189. Kenton Smith Says:

Man alive. If the Raiders, with Brady and Spytek making decisions, chose Pickens over Trask? Trask must have been way worse than I thought he was. I mean, now I’m kind of surprised we’ve had him as our 2nd teamer this last 2 years.

  190. Whatevs Says:

Raiders traded for Pickett. Trask is not going to LV? Will he even land on an NFL roster?

  191. JD Still Says:

LakelandBuc: Bakers Brownies and their Head Cheerleader and Director of Bakerbutt kissing are the absolute definition of a cult , They are extremist, true believers , and no amount of facts or logic will ever make them change their minds , fired by three teams – Don’t say nuttin bad bout Baker! Not his fault ! It was all them other teams ! Trask beat him out in the phony competition- No he didn’t! Just cuz Trask had more completions, less fumbles and interceptions in the competition’s don’t mean nuttin , Baker had a lot more ………..experience, yeah dats it! More experience at all dem teams he got fired at! An everybody knows the more teams you get fired at the more experience you get wit fumbles an interceptions an sich , so dats what really counted , Mayfield’s experience! Mayfield was gifted the starting job-Not true! Just cause Director of Bakerbutt Kissing Bowles, went out and got Mayfield to come here and gave him a guaranteed contract before the competition even began don’t mean the competition wasn’t fair! Jus ask Baker if he thought it was fair, he’ll tell ya!an Bowles will too! – Mayfield choked both years in the playoffs -No!No! No! Jus …NO! An dats all we gots to say bout dat! Bakers da man ! Trask is a threat to our Baker ! What if he ever gets in a game and doesn’t fumble or throw an interception? Get rid of him! And so it goes with cultists.

    Huh? In English plz

  193. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Rod

I’m disappointed in you!! I don’t always agree with you but you don’t usually fall into the amateurish hole that swallowed Trasktothepast and a half dozen others.

WHY would all these people have something SOOO personal against Trask that they’d risk their careers on their judgement of his ability? Was it his breath?
What makes you think Bowles, Licht or any NFL professional gives a rats arse about our opinions of THEIR personnel decisions that they award player reps to guys to make them “look” good? Really?

It’s incredibly amusing to watch the fragile hearts here get so upset by a FOOTBALL decision. Disagree with it…fine! But all this they picked on poor widdle Kyle is just absurd and you guys are embarrassing yourselves!!!

AGAIN WHY??? Why would Bowles risk his career on an inferior QB? Miss out on a winning QB? Whether it’s Mayfield or Teddy or Kyle? Why would Jason risk his rep? BOTTOM LINE – You haven’t been around sports at this level if you don’t realize the one thing that TOTALLY DRIVES THEM ALL….WINNING!!!

If Kyle had talent it would have shown up! IF Kyle was all that; somebody would have made an offer when HE WAS A FREE AGENT!!! Does the entire league have it in for poor Kyle Trskfuture?

Many here wish to diminish Teddy! OK but please do not compare Kyle to “journeyman” Bridgewater! Teddy has a 33-32 record in a little over a decade of NFL play. Is that great? Obviously not. Does it suck. Again obviously not.

What has Trask done? Nobody expected him to beat out Brady…but Gabbert?
Is his win loss record above .500?

He may yet have a great career. If that happens the Bucs will have made a mistake but I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe it was PERSONAL!

  194. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Happy for Trask. It’s the only way for him to eventually get a shot. Watch him sign with one of our departed OCs.

  195. Durango 95 Says:

Trask can’t go to any team at the moment. He has an injured shoulder, sustained Sat. night, which he played through and prevents him from going anywhere. An injury settlement needs to be reached. As I understand it.

  196. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    stpetebucsfan said:
“Kyle had talent it would have shown up! ”

It actually DID show up multiple times, it just didn’t matter. Older coaches like vet QBs. They don’t take chances on actually developing them.

If Trask had gone to a team willing to give him a season or two of starting, may have turned out to be great.

Would he ironic if he went to Tom’s team and Brady actually believed in him. Same play style.

  197. Durango 95 Says:

“The Bucs plan to release quarterback Kyle Trask, per source. He will revert to IR with a shoulder issue, then work out a settlement or release soon and look for a new team. Tampa’s long-time QB2 on the move,” Fowler wrote on X. “

  198. Scotty Mack Says:

Very surprising move to me and one of the very few times I have been wrong. That said, at least we won’t have to hear all the Traskites moan about their QB god anymore.

  199. Godlovesbucs Says:

If he doesn’t go to Carolina, Jacksonville or Las Vegas that will be very telling on the real opinion of his play.

  200. BucaneroJim Says:

When Teddy beats out Baker, we won’t have to hear all the Bakerites moan about their QB god any more. 😁

  201. Scotty Mack Says:

Bridgewater won all five games he started when Drew Brees got injured. Most teams would jump for joy if their backup QB was anywhere close to .500. He was 12-2 during his total time with the Saints. Erase the numbers from crappy Carolina and his rookie year and his numbers are pretty darned good!

Definitely a major upgrade over Trask – even if Teddy hasn’t played in a year and a a half!

  202. LakelandBuc Says:

And the Bucs will suck once again in the playoffs

And pay the sucking QB 50 million for a playoff win

I’m calling it right now, not in January, this team sucks
I’m a Buc fan, but I’m not a fan of stupidity, ignorance
I’m not a hater, just being realistic

  203. BucThis Says:

Well there you go. Raiders needed a quality backup because of O’connell breaking his wrist. Brady & Spytek know Trask very well, yet they traded a draft pick for an injured Pickett instead of getting Trask without giving up anything that says a lot.

  204. Drdneast Says:

Whoever was blasting light for waasrtingsecond round picks forgot Noah Speence and drinky boy ASJ,

  205. IrishTony Says:

Trask’s career as an NFL QB is over. Maybe he gets a job on the SEC network?

  206. IrishTony Says:

Can we move on to real Bucs talk please? Joes need to shut this thread down.

  208. Honest Abe Says:

Take the money and run Kyle! $7mil will get you a good start elsewhere. When Baker goes down Todd will see why TeddyundertheBridgewater was a gypsy in the league.

  209. Rod Munch Says:

stpetebucsfan — My issue is with the process, setting up a guy to fail is ridiculous for a pro team to do. Obviously when they pulled Trask as the starter in Pittsburgh, they knew they were cutting Trask, so why play out the nonsense about we don’t know who the back is, etc. Bridgewater played a couple of series, with the starters, got a young stud WR put on the IR, and threw two mediocre balls where the receivers made insane catches to pad out his stat line. Then they claim he’s ‘sick’ this week so he doesn’t go out and look back playing with the scrubs. We waited for years to see Trask get a shot with the starters, only to have the rug pulled out. It’s pretty ridiculous the way it was handled. I’ve never been a big Trask fan, but I wanted to see if our 2nd round pick had anything or not, and we never got a shot to see that, even in the preseason. It was literally the only interesting thing we could have seen this preseason and it was taken away because they wanted to pad Teddy’s numbers vs a backup defense, and didn’t want Trask going out there and looking go (no idea if he would have or not, but they were obviously worried enough about it to stop it from happening).

As for Trask, he is a big guy, but only has a middling arm. In preseason games he’s generally looked pretty good, had a great preseason a couple of years ago, and has shown enough that he’ll probably get a job somewhere else.

For this process though, it makes no sense. No one was taking Bridgewater off the Bucs practice squad. Now that Trask is gone, it means your 3rd QB is Ballzack who is not a legit NFL talent – go watch his college tape and you’ll see why he wasn’t drafted, and why the Bucs aren’t worried about anyone picking him off the PS. If Ballzack is ever activated, the Bucs are in serious trouble.

That’s the issue here, the Bucs picked an often injured guy who has been active for 2 games and already missed one of them, in addition to sending McMillan to the IR with an awful throw. A very very risky move with zero upside. With Trask, you at least had a chance of upside.

  210. CottlevilleBuc Says:

I will preface my comment by saying I have rooted for the Gators for decades. Would there be this much outrage if Trask had played at Virginia or Iowa? I imagine not? While it would be great if he turned out to be a star QB, the college game and pro game are different. The coaches see everything and are able to critique every snap in OTA’s, training camp and practice. Also this the fourth OC, could they all be wrong? Just good for thought.

  211. Proudbucsfan Says:

He’s going to go to Carolina and play for Canales and it’s going to bite us in the ass. I hate to say that but it’s a strong feeling I have. Our defense isn’t going to be worth a f—k again this year. Same defense as last year

  212. BayouBullet Says:

Rod Munch you are certifiably nuts. It has nothing to do with the process and everything to do with your irrational hatred of all things Baker I’ve listened to your childish irrational rants for to long. Get some help or better yet take your game to another stadium.

  213. Capt.Tim Says:

    Bucsfan1988,
Thank you for the award. I’d like to thank the academy!
    Once again- CAPT TIM WINS!
Just like the day we drafted Trask, and I bet that he would never start a game for the Bucs!
So much winning! But still appreciate the award from you!

  214. Ugo Says:

Hahahaha, the delusional Trask fans are having one hell of a meltdown because their below average qb is finally getting released. I look forward to seeing him struggle in the CFL.

But Trask only played with the second stringers you say? Yet he still played at about the same level as Bazelak, the camp arm, with 1 preseason in the system, who was playing with the 3rd string and fringe roster players.

    ———–

I haven’t even brought up Baker you idiot. I have zero issues with Baker, at least when he’s not choking in the playoffs. What I have an issue with is moron Baker Boi(s) like yourself who are literally the worst people on earth, and hate Trask and celebrate his failure because they’re still mad he had a better preseason two years ago – and you dopes still think he’s a threat.

The only one talking about Baker are you lunatics. Meanwhile, as an actual Bucs fan, I wanted to see Trask at least get a single shot at playing with the starters – it was the only interesting thing worth watching this preseason, and Bowles took that from us – and instead gave up Teddy throwing hospital balls putting McMillan in a neck brace for half the season.

  216. Buddha Says:

Never seen a worse fan base than ours. Sad. I suppose most of you never held a job where you had to hire or fire. It’s tough. Very tough. NFL is very tough. Careers are short. Completion is rigorous. Data is collected every day on the field and in the clubhouse. Each player either is getting better or getting worse. Joe called correctly. Trask was’t getting better. If Baker regresses he’ll be gone too.

  217. LakelandBuc Says:

    It’s not about Kyle Trask
It’s more about the constantly backstabbing, favoritism of this staff
Jason Licht wasted a 2 on Trask, he waste a lot of top picks
Tom Brady bailed him out, he’s a poor excuse for a GM
Todd Bowles is not an NFL Head Coach, Brian assistant, at best

And Mayfield will Never be a Super Bowl winning QB

It is what it is, Bucs will forever suck.
Until they get another Ton Brady, mock my words

  218. MikeBuc Says:

    @Rod Munch

Give it a break. We have seen you root AGAINST Mayfield for long before playoffs. Whenever I have dropped in i’ve seen you refer to him as “the midget” and seen on one occasion you rooting for the team to lose because of your hatred of him.

You try to rewrite your history when your predictions and analysis don’t work out – which is most times that I have seen.

  219. Nano107 Says:

    Trask did not develop simple
    Did not work out
    Draft picks do that
Blaming GM and coach is stupid

  220. MikeBuc Says:

“Never seen a worse fan base than ours. Sad. I suppose most of you never held a job where you had to hire or fire. It’s tough. Very tough.”

It not the whole fanbase. If you go over to other sites where people talk Bucs there’s nowhere near this silliness. Frankly most don’t seem to be bothered.

This is a gator thing and apparently the blog has a higher concentration of them.

  221. MikeBuc Says:

“Until they get another Ton Brady, mock my words”

I don’t think the greater fan base will have any problem fulfilling your request

    It deserves to be mocked.

  222. Big Bad Bucs Says:

Rod, how many more years do they allow Trask to be on the roster?

If after 5 years you go out and get another QB to back up, it speaks volumes.

5 years of training camps and preseasons and they let him go without even getting a draft pick from another team?

Hope the best for Trask, who knows what he will do.

  223. Tye Says:

In what world is a frail, gimpy guy a better pick at QB than a tall, younger healthier guy…. Seems suspect but then again, Bowels is a sketchy HC…

Hopefully the Bucs wise up and find a better built qb for a backup before season starts!

  224. Eckwood Says:

Bowles knows QB s > Bruce Arians
    #Loveteddysgansterjackelbonghair

  225. Oneilbuc Says:

Baker Mayfield is 1-7 in prime time games if we don’t get to the NFC Championship game this year then that means we ain’t winning a Superbowl with Baker Mayfield or Todd Bowles. And as far as Trask goes he didn’t do anything to deserve to get cut. Pro sports is about politics just look at LeBron James and his son. He average 6 points a game in college and still got drafted in the second round over players that were averaging 25 points a game. And when it comes to Baker Mayfield and Trask situation just notice every player Bowles say he likes they start regardless of what happens training camp. Jamle Dean who is the starter and he sucks but he doesn’t have to compete to keep his job and he knows it. I’ve never seen a player who gets burned every game he starts and he is never mad about it are show no concern about either. Bowles said he likes Bridgewater and now he’s the back up and he said he always liked Baker Mayfield since college and he named him the starter when Baker had 8 ints to Trask 1. One thing about you win with coaches like that but no more excuses for Baker Mayfield or Todd Bowles NFC Championship or bust. Baker Mayfield can’t choke in another playoff game like he did the last 2 years. He has to elevate the offence this year.

  226. Oneilbuc Says:

You don’t win with coaches like that

  227. Eric Says:

Bridewater blew out his own knee dropping back in practice. Counting on him is lunacy IMO.

  228. JD Still Says:

Rod Munch : You are absolutely right! This was a set up from the beginning, about three weeks ago the”news” started being “reported”,( in other words the negative propaganda started being spread that Kyle was having a bad camp, this out of nowhere Kyle had been having a good camp, too good , no fumbles, no interceptions, something had to be done , so the negative stories were intensified and spread, then it was reported Mayfield had hurt his hand, so Kyle got a chance to practice with the starters, more negative stories came out about Kyle playing bad and the players on the sideline starting to rebel which was dutifully spread by the Baker Brownies, unfortunately, other reporters were also there and reported that Trask was doing great, it was the best the first team had looked all summer, said the team was coming together, gelling. This would never do it was ruining all their plans , so they started putting a lot of pressure on Kyle , letting multiple players through but only when Kyle was quarterbacking,it didn’t work , still no interceptions or fumbles, but the stories continued to be spread , even though during this time Mayfield had been intercepted five times in one practice ,( three of the interceptions dropped by the defense and a fumble by Mayfield when no one had touched him) , but no similar stories were reported about Mayfield’s poor practices, strange no? Then the Practice games , They let Kyle start in the first game against the Titans , big mistake, he did outstanding , he was getting a lot of positive press, had one of the highest QBR’s of any of the eighty qb’s that played that weekend, so they decided to “fix it” in the second game, they let Bridgewater start, a slap in the face to Kyle let Bridgewater throw too quick touchdowns with the first team , then took out the first team recievers and line and put in the third team with Kyle at QB , put him under center with an empty backfield and had him drop back to throw deep , everybody in the stadium knew it was going to be a deep pass especially the defense, and on it went , Kyle was 3 for eleven, but, no interceptions, no fumbles and he had four passes dropped , Kyle wasn’t calling those plays all he could do was try to execute what he was given, and of course Bakers Brownies wrote how terrible he had played even though everyone watching knew it was a setup and many people said so, then the last game, it wasn’t as blatant as the week before , but it was still blatant, everyone knew Kyle had been set up , they knew and were not surprised when Kyle got released, They knew what happened and who did it , a lot of respect has been lost for the organization and rightfully so. Shake it off Kyle! Drive on ! Don’t let the B*****ds get you down! Success is the best revenge!
    just

  229. Oneilbuc Says:

And where is this great GM who miss on the whole 2016 and 2021 draft class . I wonder if the Joe’s going to hold him accountable lol 🤣🤣 the great Jason Licht,?? This guy missed 2 whole draft classes lol 🤣🤣.

  230. Tony Says:

    @Whatevs

Yeah I didn’t want any of them either. Aguayo was the one that I thought might of done better though.

  231. gp Says:

    Well!
    There’s 20 minutes I’ll never get back.

  232. Big Bad Bucs Says:

Oneil….”And as far as Trask goes he didn’t do anything to deserve to get cut”.

And he has not done anything to stay either. Its not a personal right to have a roster spot on an NFL team.

After 5 years years and they still do not have the confidence in him to be a back up. All this talk about Trask by people that have not been around him day in and day out for 5 years of training camps and preseasons and off seasons. The coaches and GM have been around Trask, and they felt better with TBridgewater than him. That speaks volumes about their lack of trust in Trask.

  233. MelvinJunior Says:

NO ONE is wasting their time, this late in the game, on a career backup QB, with basically ZERO ‘real-game’ experience, & having to go to a brand new team, with a brand new system, a brand new coaching staff, a brand new group of teammates, & Etc. The decision was already made the very second Teddy signed on the dotted line. It was 💯 promised to Teddy 💯. Why else, would Teddy decide to take a (lol) “sick-day” right after arriving, with very little practice under his belt, during the very LAST preseason game, while (supposedly) being right in the middle of a ‘real’ QB-Battle!? The answer is… HE WOULDN’T. Not without already KNOWING it was a DONE DEAL. Todd went outta his way trying to sell how sick he was, too LoL… A little quick and ‘defensive’ as he looked down outta the corner of his eye when saying it! It was just another ‘tell’ I noticed.

  234. Oneilbuc Says:

MikeBuc. Stop with the gator talk because most of us don’t care about what college a player comes from. It’s about a coach who lied about a quarterback competition which I think most of us thought Baker was going to easily beat him out but he didn’t. The other quarterback was better that year in training camp. But he lied to the fan base to sale us Baker Mayfield and that’s the real problem. He should have just cut Trask back then and this not even a conversation. But I’m not surprised this the same guy who went out the way to snig Ryan Fitzpatrick and now a quarterback that’s a has been and haven’t played football in the past 4 years that’s been on 6 different teams lol ..

  235. Oneilbuc Says:

But we have the best GM in the NFL who missed on 2 whole draft classes lol 🤣.

  236. Oneilbuc Says:

Melvin. I see what your saying bro I can agree with you about Teddy Bridgewater but he’s washed up bro this is a formula to be back at the bottom in the next 2 or three years.

  237. Todd Bowls Says:

The Bears should sign Kyle Trask and cut Shedeur Sanders.

  238. MelvinJunior Says:

“CottlevilleBuc” I am from Kentucky and a lifetime season ticket holder, including a box/suite and (down to lol) 12 other tickets ‘outside’ – Plus basketball, including 2 literal FLOOR seats (and 20 others scattered about)… So, absolutely no “Gators” Fan here. I HATE the freaking GATORS. No “Trask-LOVER,” either. Far from it. Also, no “Baker-Boi” for sure. But, you seem to have LOTS of faith in this Bucs coaching staff. A lot of faith, that I do NOT. Just sayin. Bowles might’ve inherited a bad salary cap situation, BUT HE also inherited a bunch of very good experienced players, with ‘CHAMPIONSHIP-Pedigrees’ who are ADULTS (post Brady). Plus, he really ‘lucked-out’ by being in THE WORST Division in Football, and some extremely weak and favorable second-half scheduling. Not a bad spot to be in.

  239. MelvinJunior Says:

“Oneilbuc” I am prob more on your side, Dude. I’m just saying the truth. I’m not trying to cut Trask down while he’s hurt. I was just saying more than anything else, that it was just ANOTHER way, that this FO and Coaching Staff, really ‘stuck-it in him’ EVEN HARDER.

  240. MelvinJunior Says:

“Rod Munch” – that’s the thing with all these Baker-Bois. They are incapable of separating the two, due to their little weak insecurities. It’s really pathetic. They have been 💯 waaaayyy WORSE than the Trask-Lovers ever even thought about being, throughout ALL of this. For one thing, there were a lot more of them. 10X WORSE, and it’s not even close. I mean, “THEIR GUY” got THE JOB and they are STILLLLL fightin’ that war, Man. Hahahah. I mean, How Pathetic.

  241. HC Grover Says:

    The Bilgewater Blunder

  242. Bucsfan1988 Says:

Those that are saying Trask didn’t develop are pretty hilarious….

2nd string offensive line this year was a giant pair of saloon doors!!!!
Even the Joes were commenting on this…

How do you “develop” with dudes constantly in your face and having to roll out or throw on your back leg every other play…..

This was a screw-job in the making by Bowles this season.
Trask should have never re-signed here.

I really thought he was FINALLY going to get some meaningful snaps behind the 1st string o-line against Pittsburgh for a quarter.
Then, HELL NOOOOOO, let’s put Bridgewater in there because “we know what we got” with Trask…

Coaching staff doesn’t know CRAP on whether Trask is a gamer or not with the first string. THAT IS AN UNDISPUTED FACT!!!

  243. MikeBuc Says:

“Coaching staff doesn’t know CRAP on whether Trask is a gamer or not with the first string. THAT IS AN UNDISPUTED FACT!!!”

You just continue to make yourself look silly. No rational person believes you just because you put things in caps and claim they are undisputed facts.

Not even the joes have seen every practice so who knows when He played with the starters. IF you are claiming during a game then go learn some NFL. YOU EARN THE RIGHT TO START not get it because your supporter cry that you should

The explanation why bridgewater got playing time over trask is simple. They alyeady knew they wanted him at number two. the nunber two QB gets to play when QB1 will not be.

  244. heyjude Says:

Wow, woke up to this early, getting ready for work. Not shocked though.

Joe had it right yesterday with the post “Will the Raiders call for Kyle Trask?” Great insight, Joe. Kyle seems like such a good guy and I am only guessing that Kyle’s long playing time Saturday night was to possibly gain interest for him.

Coach Bowles made the right move releasing Kyle. He has had numerous seasons and has been behind Brady and Baker. He should have shown more growth.

  245. Bokehjo Says:

So is he going to be released today by 4:00 or is he going on IR.
    Shoulder issues?

  246. Gofortheface30 Says:

Oh Melvin, you and Rod the simpleton really want to fight this battle huh. This is the hill you really want to die on? What, exactly is your angle with the “baker boi” thing? 1.) they have reason to be excited, because their guy is a top 10 nfl quarterback. 2.) he galvanizes the team Kyle never could 3.) he is infinitely more talented. 4.) Trask could never throw for 40 touchdowns at a 70% comp in ten thousand years. You stupid losers are every bit as delusional as Shedeur fans wearing tin foil hats. The kind of position only the poors, the disenfranchised, and stupid people make. This is the equivalent of losing 63-0. You lost, and lost badly. Shut your dirty gross mouth, and see yourself out

  247. Kenton Smith Says:

  252. Obvious One Says:

Wow! Longest back and forth ever on JBF…. THAT SAYS A LOT!

It says that the Browns fans that gypsies around with Baker are STILL TERRIFIED of Kyle Trask…. That IS PATHETIC and HILARIOUS at the Very Same Time. I’m going to throw in Sad to see the Browns fans are So Screwed Up in the head. And I thought it was bad for the ACTUAL Bucs fans…… Just WOW! LOL!

Even MORE important to the ACTUAL Buccaneer Fans is that we’re relegated to Suffer this IDIOT of a head coach. I CAN NOT STAND HIM! Fat Boy Bowles has NO CLASS! A Pure Liar, A “Judas” AND a Benedict Arnold rolled into one FAT Retodd!

And Jason Licht? What is your game dude?
Buddy…. I’ve supported you, while you were STILL A JOKE of a GM… I sung you’re praises, Even though YOU continued to BLOW draft picks…. EVEN THROUGH TWO ENTIRE, FULL DRAFTS THAT YOU HAVE FAILED MISERABLY! And Now that you’re Foolishly sending the Only fairly decent draft pick you had left (though drafted maybe a round too high) from those drafts, down the road…. You’re Not looking so hot Licht.. Trask, the Only guy that KNOWS this system Well besides Baker and WON’T snap like a small, thin twig… as Surely as Bridgewater WILL, IS YOUR DECISION MAKING OVER RETODD! Trask ISN’T Fragile. Trask Has Never Stopped Training. And Bridgewater hasn’t play ball in YEARS! What kind of FOOLISH PLANNING IS THAT?

Licht, THIS IS POOR DECISION MAKING “ESPECIALLY” ON YOUR PART! Bringing in a Burnt Out Has Been IS CHILDISH POOR DECISION MAKING AND YOU ARE MAKING UNNECESSARY RISKY BETS ON SKETCHY CHARACTERS! We’re Not even talking about the cuts you’re making to the Linebacker Corp YET….

DON’T THINK YOU ARE HOLD HARMLESS BECAUSE RETODD BOWLES IS STUPID ENOUGH TO ACT THE FOOL LIKE A SMALL CHILD WHO SEEMS TO THINK PEOPLE DON’T SEE RIGHT THROUGH HIS NOT SO BRIGHT, THIN OF “GOOD CHARTER”, SELFISH BUFFOON, SELF…., IS BLINDLY JUMPING IN FRONT OF THE ON COMING TRAIN! Bowles Luck WILL Run Out eventually and He’ll Leave YOU holding the Bag…

Gonna MAKE SURE You’re Looked Closely at AS Well Buddy…. Your “Character” in this story is ALSO STARTING TO LOOK VERY SKETCHY Jason Licht….

And I’ve ALWAYS Had You’re Back. But Now… Now I’m starting to wonder about MY decision making at this point Concerning my Support of YOU, This IS a Bad Look Jason! Everything “Seems” Like Very Sloppy Decision Making right NOW….

  253. MelvinJunior Says:

“My “other” team, the 49rs, screwed up grossly when they traded 2 #1 picks for Trey Lance. But, they evaluated what they had and dumped Lance to the Cowboys for a late pick. Licht and Bowles would have stuck with him until year 5. The 49rs saw what they had done and tried to correct it.” – BucsfaninOregon

Well, the injury to Lance and then the subsequent rise and ‘discovery’ of Brock Purdy made that decision a whole lot easier for them. Without Purdy, who knows how that whole ordeal plays out and what the hell happens.

  254. SRQ Bucs Fan Says:

A poster on this here site questioned Joe’s lack of breaking news and stated they get that from another website. If it’s the site I think it is, they had 30 comments on their article about Trask being released. JBF – 250+ comments and counting. Mic Drop!

  255. MelvinJunior Says:

“Gofortheface30” – What, you get your wittle feelings hurt. This is exactly what I have been saying. Just SO Sensitive. To EVERY little thing that YOU can try (in your mind) to make it being about Baker. When THIS has absolutely nothing to do with Baker. Not whatsoever. And, this is why the “Baker-Bois” are THE WORST. 10X worse than the handful of “Trask-Lovers.” You are not even capable of seperaring the two, so you take EVERYTHING as a ‘personal shot’ to Baker, and your undying love. It is all very strange. And, you are STILL fighting this war, even when it has already been loooong ‘settled’ on who the franchise QB currently is. It’s insane. Embarrassing really, as an adult.

“Gofortheface30” – you have obviously, skipped over ALL of my past comments over the years here. Far from being a “Trask-Lover,” & definitely NO “Baker-Boi.” Just a neautral, unbiased fan, with ZERO emotion tied to either. And, that’s why I am SO baffled by all of the grown “adult” Baker-Bois, and just how defensive and insecure they are with their undying love. It’s unbelievable to me. For an ADULT, concerning a Professional ATHLETE. It’s absolutely mind-blowing. I mean, I could understand it if you were like 8-9 years old, or maybe 12-14!? I don’t even “Lmao” because of it being so WEIRD. 99% of these comments have NOTHING to do with it being about Baker, and you are so insecure, delusional, and defensive, that YOU immediately take them as being such.

  257. Kenton Smith Says:

It appears Gofortheface30 Wentforsomeass and Gothimsomeass. And he must have hit it pretty good cause now there’s a bunch of whinyassbitche$ bellyaching to no end.

I’m here for the comments. Got my popcorn out 🍿

  259. Coconut Doughnut Says:

Wooooo Trask is the gift that keeps on giving for JBF

Mike Glennon Jr. Without the big arm.

  261. Davyboy Says:

Kyle Trask, while a good young man, will never be a starter in the NFL. He doesnt have IT. Baker has IT. If Kyle were better, he would have started over Baker by now. Those of you who think Baker starts just because Todd likes him more are either delusional or dont have a clue of just how much pressure the coaches are under to win. They try to win at ALL COST. Friendship aint got nothin to do with nothin in the NFL. You either produce or you’re out. Good luck Kyle.
Despite what a few on here think, no one wins a superbowl by themselves. If that were the case Lamar Jackson would have already won a couple but it takes a team, a healthy team that makes few mistakes. We are almost there and when we are, Baker will lead us to the promised land despite all the distractions by the few jealous bois on this site that really are totally football ignorant but love to hear themselves talk. Only time will settle this argument. In the mean time, Baker will continue to lead the team, make a lot of money and continue to break more records, proving the haters wrong some more.

  262. Dennis The Menace Says:

My wife and I have followed Trask since UF football. Always was glad he went to Tampa. Thought he learned from the best. Also think he did good job against Buffalo.
    Bridgwater is a has been.
There, I put that out there. I’m not sure we have a good head coach, or if he has just lucked into a good team, formed by the last coach, playing in a bad division. Time will tell.
Anyway, I am very disappointed that they cut Trask. Hope he lands with a team that appreciates his talent and can groom him into the great player he will be.

  263. Kenton Smith Says:

Dennis The Menace. Bridgewater is not a has been. He’s the number two QB for the 2025 Buccaneers. I’m really sad for you and your wife though. Really. And I’m sure there is another team just looking forward to signing Kyle and “grooming” him. Really.

  264. Oneilbuc Says:

DBS . Yes I still would have drafted Shadure Sanders because we have a journeyman at quarterback. And guess what else he’s choked in 2 playoff games lol 🤣🤣 already. Baker Mayfield hasn’t proven he can elevate players when needed. And now everyone is mad at the defense because they put the games in Baker Mayfield to go win it or close them out and he choked both times lol 🤣🤣.

  265. Davyboy Says:

Onei, I am amazed at your ignorance of the game or do you just like to spread disinformation? Either way, it’s not a good look on a football blog. Meanwhile, old Baker will continue to move the team forward regardless of the staggering ignorance of some of the “fans” here.
