Don’t Expect Bucs Starters To Play Saturday Night

August 7th, 2025

“I’ll be watching with you, Chris.”

The preseason opener on Saturday night will not be one for the Bucs’ prime-time players.

Head coach Todd Bowles made that clear after practice against the Titans today. Sure, it’s possible linebacker SirVocea Dennis will be out there to get more work calling the defense and seeing if he can stay healthy. Joe supposes Jalen McMillan will play, as well. But don’t look for the big names that sell tickets.

Joe just hopes the second-team offensive line steps up from its training camp struggles. Kyle Trask deserves the protection.

You don’t have to worry about Kyle, He’s not afraid of a little practice against anybody , at any time, Iron sharpens Iron! Last practice against the ones no interceptions, no fumbles, as usual.
