  2. LakelandBuc Says:

    Go Get It Shiloh

  3. firethecannons Says:

ughh what a way to start up the gut for 1 yd and penalty on the sub

  4. TBBucFan Says:

Put Trask in for the second series and watch the board go crazy.

  5. buc4evr Says:

good throw, too bad he wasn’t getting protection.

  6. buc4evr Says:

    Oline. ugh.

  7. BucsFan81 Says:

    That series was hot garbage.

  8. Rod Munch Says:

There’s the Teddy we know, 3rd and long and he throws well short of the sticks to help his competition percentage stat.

  9. HC Grover Says:

Uggh Get him out! Who had this idea….OUT!

  10. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, talk about killing all the good vibes coming out of last week and the scrimmage.

  11. Couch Fan Says:

    Nice defense.

  12. Oxycondomns Says:

how bad is trask for the bucs to take someone off his couch last week to be the backup?

  13. buc4evr Says:

    wow.

  14. Couch Fan Says:

I’m willing to bet Teddy would of started last week if he knew the playbook better.

  15. Rod Munch Says:

    Great play by Zyon.

  16. richbucsfan Says:

Uh, oh… #77 is getting beat like a drum. Not a good start. If he can’t handle second stringers we’re in trouble.

  17. VOT Says:

Bridgewater is a joke, great play on the ball Zyon

  18. BucsFan81 Says:

Looks like defense wants to show up at least.

  19. buc4evr Says:

Yeah that was a bad penalty on Heck.

  20. ATLBuc Says:

    Pro Bowl for Zyon!

  21. Bee Says:

Ints in 2 straight games. I’ll take it

  22. HC Grover Says:

    Bowles likes his hair.

  23. buc4evr Says:

    o line is getting stoned

  24. buc4evr Says:

    Why is Trask not playing?

  25. Rod Munch Says:

3 runs up the middle in 4 plays! YES! Bowles BALL is BACK!

  26. Couch Fan Says:

Aw crap,. Injury already. I knew that was going to be bad for McMillan

  27. buc4evr Says:

    geez concussion

  28. Rod Munch Says:

Nice hospital ball you idiot Bridgewater.

  29. HC Grover Says:

Threw right sopt to get reciever killed.

  30. Hunter Says:

I mean you gotta be kidding…

  31. Rod Munch Says:

Great the starters out with this scrub Bridgewater out there.

  32. buc4evr Says:

right on his head and neck. let’s just get all of our starters killed right before the season starts. SMH.

  33. richbucsfan Says:

    A-hole type tackle by Porter.

  34. Bee Says:

    Wow

  35. LongSeason Says:

    Jalen’s season just ended.

    A-hole type tackle by Porter.

    ——-

Nothing wrong with the defender there, that’s a terrible pass by Teddy, put it in a place that if the receiver catches it they’re getting hurt.

  37. VOT Says:

Why in the world are we playing this bum? His rainbow just got McMillan about paralyzed

Why all the sudden Trask is 3rd team? This is stupid

  38. Bee Says:

    Smh…

  39. buc4evr Says:

Geez they need to put all third and fourth stringers in now.

  40. First Last Says:

TEDDY THREW A HOSPITAL BALL WTF

  41. Mike S Says:

Bowles is an idiot. Bring Kyle in now.

  42. LongSeason Says:

Porter is one pf the players I hate most. He’s a #ucker. Steelers have always been dirty.

  43. Greg Says:

Sometimes we do such idiotic crap. WTF is Bridgewater in the game with the 1s? He just injured if not KILLED or CRIPPLED one of the best young receivers.

  44. Lynchmob47 Says:

So with Teddy we come out running and fall behind, with trask we come out throwing,…teddy 3 and out, trask drove…yeah now overthrow MCMILLAN and possibly injured him…..def see enough….

  45. ATLBuc Says:

Just got the air knocked out of him. He will be okay.

  46. Kubush Says:

    Bridgewater is a curse

  47. Jeffs grandpa Says:

    Kyle would of never

  48. Hunter Says:

If that doesn’t warn you to take out Bucky before something happens, idk what will…

  49. LongSeason Says:

Steelers take pride in injuring people. They are a murder team.

  50. Rob Says:

Get the goddamn starters out of these meaningless games

  51. Rod Munch Says:

You don’t put a scrub player like Bridgewater out there with starters when he sucks, and doesn’t even know the playbook. There’s zero reason for Teddy to be on that field right now.

  52. Bee Says:

Anybody thinkin Bridgewater is a backup needs rehab

  53. SteveK Says:

    Ouch, Hope McMillan is ok!

Was that a bad throw by the QB that led to the WR being open to getting smashed?

  54. LongSeason Says:

Personally I hope a couple of Steelers seasons end tonight.

  55. Couch Fan Says:

Otten. WTF? LoL. Its only pre season.

  56. buc4evr Says:

agreed Rod, he is going to get the receivers killed.

  57. Rod Munch Says:

Man did Bowles just completely kill the good vibes of this preseason with this idiotic move.

  58. Hunter Says:

Okay well clearly Cade needs to stay out there another series haha. He might be a guy that needs to get an early catch under his belt every game so he doesn’t start dropping when it matters.

Our TEs are going to have a lot of dropsies this year, aren’t they?

  59. ATLBuc Says:

Otton better tighten up. Culp is playing his behind off!

  60. HC Grover Says:

Trask should ask for a trade after this insult.

  61. Bee Says:

They’re still trying to make Otton a thing? This team needs a legit TE

  62. SteveK Says:

    Stay healthy, Bucs.

  63. buc4evr Says:

77 is great. The DE walked around him.

  64. Bucs4Ever Says:

    BOOM

  65. Rod Munch Says:

Get all the starters out of there, Hospital Ball Bridgewater is going to get more people killed.

  66. Couch Fan Says:

    Nice. FIRE THE CANNONS!

  67. Hunter Says:

Okay there, Bucky is ready, now take him out

  68. Bee Says:

    The run blocking….where is it

  69. Bd Says:

Why no penalty for hitting defenseless receiver he was in the air

  70. buc4evr Says:

    Bucs have-to get another LT.

  71. richbucsfan Says:

There’s not much to do to stop dirty play. #17 for the Steelers…(SMH)

  72. Bee Says:

    Nice!

  73. Rod Munch Says:

Nice catch by Bucky! That’s the same play we kept reading about in practice notes that were getting caught by Bucky for big yards.

  74. LongSeason Says:

Knew Steelers would target Chase’s leg

  75. LongSeason Says:

We need to run a play to the Steller sideline and target their head coaches knees.

  76. ATLBuc Says:

Bucky must have done 1000 jugs per day because he has become a heck of a receiver !!

  77. rrsrq Says:

We still gon fuss about Teddy and Todd and Grizz

  78. Oxycondomns Says:

will trask win the #3 qb spot?

  79. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Corner fade to Bucky lol that was awesome.

  80. LongSeason Says:

As you can see, I hate the Steelers more than any other team in the league.

  81. Timbucs2 Says:

Are they trying to injure our players? That undercut on McMillan then running into the kicker’s plant leg? Sheesh.

  82. Lynchmob47 Says:

Yes I will still fuss…only got a 2nd chance cause of penalty on kicker….2 glove teddy sucks….

  83. Rod Munch Says:

On radio they say McMillan sounds like he’s OK, so Teddy won’t be charge with getting him murdered. Good to know.

  84. buc4evr Says:

    j mac looks ok

  85. Greg Says:

You want to know why Bridgewater is out there? Bowles likes him…personally. Hes probably giving him a chance to get some tape out there. If he gets someone hurt I am going to be so pissed off.

  86. Rob in Land O' Lakes Says:

Longseason says: “As you can see, I hate the Steelers more than any other team in the league.”

Yes, but do you hate them as much as Rod Munch hates Teddy Bridgewater? 🙂

  87. Rod Munch Says:

Shutup with the whining about the Steelers hitting people. If you’re angry at the Steelers playing football, then go watch the WNBA, that’s probably more your speed.

  88. Bucs 95 Says:

    Suprised teddy got the start

  89. ATLBuc Says:

Okay guys. ame our pro bowler this year!

  90. HC Grover Says:

Yep this is Bowles guy. he likes his style.

  91. Woodman Says:

It’s one catch Atl calm down!

  92. LongSeason Says:

    Virtual measurement
    Whoop-di-doo

  93. Crack3rK Says:

    Reddick in coverage again

  94. buc4evr Says:

    tez

  95. Oxycondomns Says:

reddick dropped back in coverage on 3rd and 8

  96. Jeffs grandpa Says:

I hope they’re calling run plays they suck at cuz man that was rough drive running the ball

  97. Rod Munch Says:

I thought the stupid virtual crap was supposed to be fast.

  98. LongSeason Says:

    There’s Tez

  99. mj Says:

    tez looked slow? just me?

  100. LongSeason Says:

The Tezmanian Devil. I coined it.

  101. Couch Fan Says:

It would be nice if Tez could lock up the PR/KR job. We’ve been missing that guy for a long time.

  102. Rod Munch Says:

Tez just made the team, see ya later Palmer.

  103. buc4evr Says:

    tez almost broke it.

  104. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Okay Tez, not bad

  105. Rob in Land O' Lakes Says:

Was that a Tampa Bay punt returner who runs north and south?

  106. ATLBuc Says:

We finally have a returner!!! First since Spurlock!!!

  107. Buc in VA Says:

    Tez!

  108. LongSeason Says:

    tez looked slow? just me?

    Just you.

  109. buc4evr Says:

yeah tez was shifty but a little slow on the last cut.

  110. infomeplease Says:

Buc’s have found their punt returner!!

  111. Bee Says:

The depth is so much better on this team

  112. Bucs Guy Says:

Tez just made the 53 man roster

  113. richbucsfan Says:

Dirty football is not good, hard football. Idiots.

  114. Dom Says:

    Ok Tez!

  115. D-Mac Says:

    That wasn’t 4.5 speed

  116. Dom Says:

I think special teams is going to be much improved this year with the new punter and Tez at punt return

  117. Kgh4life Says:

Guys! There’s no game-planning and the plays are very basic.

  118. Beefsta Says:

I’ve seen #5 drop in coverage more then rush. So damn dumb

  119. Rod Munch Says:

The 4.5 speed thing for Tez is nonsense, he was clocked in a game last year at over 22mph, which when I did the numbers, I think worked out to be the 5th fastest play last year if it happened in the NFL.

  120. HC Grover Says:

Bowles gonna get another starter hurt?

  121. rrsrq Says:

    Let’s go Tez

  122. ATLBuc Says:

    Bee Says:

The depth is so much better on this team
    ——————————————-
That’s what will put us over the top!!!

  123. Steve Says:

Bucky is insane but why are we giving him receiving reps, when we have so many receivers? Why keep him on the field to take receptions?!

  124. Rod Munch Says:

Teddy is really inaccurate. The Bucs receivers are making some incredible plays to bail him out.

  125. Woodman Says:

Yet they still scored grandpa. It’s preseason now I know where Jeff gets it from. Lol

  126. HC Grover Says:

    Pfffft

  127. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Teddy missed Bucky underneath and to his left

  128. Matt Says:

They kept running up the left side and it kept getting blown up. Are they trying to test heck,?

  129. LongSeason Says:

Shep making the decision at WR difficult. Good.

  130. Trask To The Future Says:

    WHAT A JOKE.

Can’t believe they didn’t give Trask a chance to player with the starting line.

  131. Rod Munch Says:

Well the Bucs offense with a scrub QB and no Evans is still dramatically better than the Steelers 2nd team defense.

  132. LongSeason Says:

Time to take Bucky out after he scores

  133. LongSeason Says:

    Emeka!

  134. ATLBuc Says:

    OMG!!!!

  135. HC Grover Says:

    The new Plan 9 ROCKS!!!

  136. buc4evr Says:

Sterling makes the roster . EE is great!

  137. BucsFan81 Says:

We have the best WR group in the league

  138. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Bridgewater haters in shambles LOL!

Just mad that the Bucs found an actual backup quarterback

  139. HC Grover Says:

    Heck looks OK so far.

  140. Oxycondomns Says:

what a feeling to be able to trust your backup, must be a great relief for the players

  141. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, Double-E with a great catch, wow are these Bucs receivers playing well.

  142. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    That catch was ridiculous

  143. infomeplease Says:

    Buc’s found their backup QB!!

  144. buc4evr Says:

Teddy is looking better than expected.

  145. Bee Says:

    Teddy ballin

  146. Usfbucs Says:

Damn I hate it for Trask but man Teddy looks as good or maybe a little better in just two weeks?

  147. firethecannons Says:

watching the diagram football on ESPN is Jalen Mcmillan ok?

  148. Bucs 95 Says:

Teddy just won the backup job unless trask goes off literally just signed with the team 2 weeks ago and drove the offense downfield two straight scoring drives like nothing

  149. Kgh4life Says:

    Egbuka is the real deal.

  150. Ds Says:

Teddy is balling glad EE is getting targets

  151. Tbbucs3 Says:

Wouldnt take Rod Mushes QB evaluations too seriously….

The guy who Infamously hated the Mayfield signing and called him the “worst QB in the NFL”

  152. ATLBuc Says:

    Tbbucs3 Says:

    Bridgewater haters in shambles LOL!

Just mad that the Bucs found an actual backup quarterback
    ————————————————————————-
    Them there’s fighting words buddy!

  153. Usfbucs Says:

j Mac walked off on his own, they are checking him for a concussion

  154. Dom Says:

Buka is going to be so good

  155. Bee Says:

Can’t lie. He settled down after that first drive.

  156. Lewi Says:

IM SO READY FOR THIS SEASON

    LFG!!!!

  157. firethecannons Says:

not bad for just 1 quarter! lol!

  158. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

I bet the kids from Teddys’ team are going crazy right now lol

  159. HC Grover Says:

    Pull the starters now please.

  160. rrsrq Says:

    Did Egbuka just do that

  161. Pmike Says:

My only hope is that Bridgewater is in to keep Trask from getting injured. Still probably shouldn’t have the starters behind Teddy, but maybe they need more reps idk.

  162. Trask To The Future Says:

    DEAN LOL

  163. LongSeason Says:

    Dean is toast!

  164. VOT Says:

    Dean in mid season form

  165. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Egbuka is going to be good for us because he can win in single coverage in a lot of ways and bust zones

  166. Hunter Says:

Jamel Dean a liability. Half the time he just looks like a smoke screen

  167. Scott Says:

    Where is the pressure?

  168. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Jamel Dean absolutely sucks….

How long are we gonna keep trying this failed experiment??

  169. Couch Fan Says:

    Dean….

  170. LongSeason Says:

    Tykee was lagging behind

  171. Hunter Says:

This Steelers TD drive courtesy of Jamel Dean.

  172. Usfbucs Says:

Damn Dean is looking bad on these back to back plays

  173. Trask To The Future Says:

    D E A N

  174. Shak Says:

Crazy, Trask rarely has played with the starters a couple times his whole career here and TB is here a week and gets to play with them. Yeah, they don’t believe in the guy. Period.

  175. ATLBuc Says:

Dean is goona end up starting the season on the bench!!!

  176. LVMYBUCS Says:

    Damn Dean u still stuck

  177. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Smh Dean, cmon man

  178. LongSeason Says:

Dean making a case for not making team

  179. Rod Munch Says:

That was not PI on Dean – that was hand fighting and the receiver hooked him first. Come on.

  180. SlurpandMunchMyRod Says:

Heck of a start for Bridge. He has the ability to take us over troubled waters

  181. HC Grover Says:

    earth to Dean

  182. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Where tf are our safeties?

  183. Couch Fan Says:

Theres that wonderful Super Todd Defense we’ve come to love so much…

  184. buc4evr Says:

D line and OLBs have nothing.

  185. Hunter Says:

lmao and he allowed the TD?!? I was kinda hoping honestly. Benjamin Morrison please heal yourself young man

  186. Lewi Says:

Dean was in his pocket, dude pinned his own arm

  187. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Release Jamel Dean.

    He’s absolutely terrible

  188. Trask To The Future Says:

    DEAN AGAIN!!!!!!

  189. LongSeason Says:

    Dean beat again

  190. VOT Says:

Dean is the victim of all 3 plays that lead to the TD – as I said he is in mid season form – can we see Parrish?

  191. Dom Says:

    That was a terrible call

  192. Trask To The Future Says:

    HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA 35

  193. Bucs 95 Says:

    Defense got cooked by rudolph

  194. Lewi Says:

Damnit… im trying to defend you bro lol

  195. Bee Says:

    No pass rush

  196. Ds Says:

Ira may be in to something Dean played terrible that drive

  197. Rod Munch Says:

    Zone defense… YAY!

  198. buc4evr Says:

like triple coverage. have they never heard of over under coverage? geez. CBs and Safeties just standing around. lol.

  199. Rod Munch Says:

    Bee Says:

    No pass rush

    ———

Not really, Vita got good penetration

  200. BayouBullet Says:

    Same buc defence

  201. Godlovesbucs Says:

Just a guess, but I think Trask is the for sure backup. Bowles is probably trying to help teddy out by having him put out good film with a good offense so he can hopefully pick up a backup job somewhere else.

  202. 813bucboi Says:

    Dean is trash

    GO BUCS

  203. Rod Munch Says:

Only good note, the Steelers had their first team offensive line out there according to radio, so at least it wasn’t scrubs doing that.

  204. James in Memphis Says:

    Kancey is not good enough!!!

  205. HC Grover Says:

    Trask in wit da scrubs

  206. Scott Says:

Defense still trash!! Or should I say ok but streaky

  207. Tbbucs3 Says:

Alright Trask lovers, here you go…

  208. Rod Munch Says:

Starters had better be out, we’ve seen enough.

  209. buc4evr Says:

Grizz is doing a good job , Todd not so much.

  210. Jmarkbuc Says:

Jamel Dean doing Jamel Dean things…

Didn’t the Steelers second string long to find the weak link.

  211. rrsrq Says:

    Well… easy answer

  212. 813bucboi Says:

    Gotta see better pass rush

    GO BUCS

  213. ATLBuc Says:

This has happened time and again last year. Dean getting beat at critical times. That’s why Todd has continue to say that Parrish is a starter and was an outside player

  214. Rod Munch Says:

So there we go, Trask in with the scrubs.

Tucker can’t make the catch on the inaccurate throw – the same inaccurate type of pass that Teddy was making and getting bailed out by amazing catches by the receivers.

  215. Trask To The Future Says:

WHY WOULD THEY PULL THE STARTING LINE WHEN THEY LET TRASK PLAY?

  216. Hunter Says:

Poor Trask… He gets “blessed” with the backup O-line all of the time. I honestly feel for him in that aspect.

  217. Bucs 95 Says:

    Damn trask is slow af

  218. Rod Munch Says:

    ATLBuc Says:
    August 16th, 2025 at 7:49 pm
This has happened time and again last year. Dean getting beat at critical times.

    ——-

He wasn’t beat on the Scotty Miller play, was supposed to have safety help over the top, and Smith was late getting there.

  219. Tbbucs3 Says:

Trask has 0 escapability….we see Mayfield get out of those situations every game

  220. Trask To The Future Says:

Trask has still never had an opportunity to play with the starting line. UNREAL

  221. buc4evr Says:

    O line got bull dozed.

  222. Trask To The Future Says:

LOL Mayfield isn’t avoiding that sack. Entire line collapsed.

  223. Oxycondomns Says:

thats trask downfall slow to process information

  224. buc4evr Says:

    wide open.

  225. Josh Says:

PI was a poor call, but Dean won’t be cut just yet—he’ll lose his starting job first. It’s the old tolerate him until a replacement is available. Unless/Until Parrish or Morrison prove they can step up, we’re unfortunately stuck with him….

  226. Bee Says:

He didn’t hold the ball too long, no one was open lol

  227. HC Grover Says:

Bowles set up Trask. Wonder where he will end up playing? He will walk on the Bucs.

  228. Bee Says:

    No pass rush again

  229. Rod Munch Says:

Scrubs all in on defense now.

So that was fun, we got to watch Bridgewater throw some hospital balls, get bailed out by receivers making amazing catches, and even got to see a big play by Scotty Miller!

  230. orlbucfan Says:

Refs sound like they’re getting warmed up…….helping out Steelers. Still, ME13, CG14, and EE, what a trio!!!!! Go Bucs!!

  231. HC Grover Says:

Trask may try to get cut.

  232. Jeffs grandpa Says:

Face it he just isn’t that good there’s a reason Teddy’s here and played with the 1’s

  233. Hunter Says:

Idk why y’all are hating on Trask in this game. Not his fault. Would you be hating on Brady for going down in those situations too? Didn’t know you had to escape to be a good backup?

  234. ATLBuc Says:

    Trask To The Future Says:

Trask has still never had an opportunity to play with the starting line. UNREAL
    —————————————————————————-
That’s because they are still trying to support the Mayfield decision. Kyle is much better than Baker at pushing the ball down the field. I’ve grown to love Baker but Kyle is still a lot better passer. Baker brings the intangibles but our last two seasons have ended on Baker turnovers.

  235. orlbucfan Says:

Good thing they’re in Pittsburgh. Nasty t-storm starting up here.

  236. Tbbucs3 Says:

Trask to the Excuses at it gain

  237. Hunter Says:

I think we’ll keep 3 QBs on the roster if we want to keep Teddy. We may feel like he needs some more time to learn the playbook just in case?

  250. Rod Munch Says:

For the dopes complaining about Dean, as usual they have no idea what they’re watching.

On the long throw to Miller, Dean clearly was supposed to have help over the top and Smith wasn’t there, late to get back.

On the PI call, that was nonsense. The Steelers WR literally had Dean hooked, then let up and Dean returned the favor – and like always, the stupid refs only saw the back half of the play and called the bogus PI.

On the TD, the Bucs were in zone, not man to man. Hard to tell on that one from the TV view if Dean blew the coverage, it looked like he bit on a QB run – but again hard to tell, but it wasn’t him getting beat in man.

  251. ATLBuc Says:

43!!!!! Somebody wants to hit the QB!!!

ATLBuc and Trask to the Excuses….The last 2 remaining members of the Trask fan club

    ———–

I think a lot of people wanted to finally see Trask get at least a couple of drives with the starting line and some of the starting WRs and see what he could do. Bridgewater was throwing some really inaccurate balls and getting bailed out big time by the receivers – that’s what people want to see with Trask, does he get bailed out, does he fail – this was the time to finally see that, and instead we got Hospital Ball Bridgewater trying to get guys killed.

  259. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Defense waking up?

  260. Tbbucs3 Says:

Dom, what you said is just not accurate. Mayfield is a known as one of the top escape artist in the league. You arent watching the games if you havent noticed that by now.

“In the 2024 NFL season, Baker Mayfield had a pressure-to-sack rate of 25.2%, according to PFF. This means that out of all the times he was pressured by the defense, he was sacked 25.2% of the time. While this rate placed him 13th among qualified quarterbacks, it’s worth noting that he also had a strong performance under pressure, ranking highly in other key stats“

The Bucky catch was fantastic, and so was e2, so was the McMillan catch. Teddy got it close enough, but on nearly every other team in the NFL, those are not catches. But the hospital ball was terrible, hard to overcome that in my mind if you take out one of your top young WRs on a terribly overthrown ball.

Let’s face it. Bowles and Trask don’t see eye to eye. Bowles would rather give a well traveled HS school coach, with no playing time last year, a better chance to succeed than Trask. This is obviously personal. Love or hate Trask, he has not been given any chance to succeed under Bowles.
Bowles even keeps Mayfield in the game during blowout games, no matter who has the lead. He defies any logical explanation to not give Trask a chance, even in a game already decided.
This is petty, and one reason I’m not the biggest Bowles fan.
The players love Bowles! I don’t wanna hear that. I want players who respect their coach, despite the “nice guy” syndrome which Bowles exudes

  365. Rod Munch Says:

Trask was really good last week, but is not having a good night tonight. Bridgewater got some amazing catches from his receivers, while Trask has gotten a couple of drops and some really bad offensive line play. That’s why people wanted to see Trask starting, instead of watching him throwing to scrubs.

But sounds like the writing is on the wall. Again, I’m not the biggest Trask fan, but I wanted to see the kid get a legit shot at least once in his time here. No idea why they resigned him.

  366. BucforLife Says:

Trask is playing with olineman who won’t be making the team as well as the receivers so yea that’s why he’s not playing as well as last week. 383. Rod Munch Says:

    Yup, shut him down.

  385. Rod Munch Says:

  386. orlbucfan Says:

Godwin was knocked out for the season cos Ravens D/Harbaugh deliberately illegally almost crippled him. Usual crap with Refs.

  387. Rod Munch Says:

Now Jarrett catches that ball, clearly the team is conspiring against Trask!

  388. Tbbucs3 Says:

I wouldn’t write Kyle Trask off yet.

Bazelsk looks pretty good on those crossing plays.

    ————-

He threw those pretty well last week two, but man, his college tape is bad. So many passes where guys are wide open and he just repeatedly misses them – could be anywhere, short, medium or long. From Joe’s notes in practices, it sounded like he was still doing that. Maybe they’re working with him on those crossing routes to see if he can get those down, then will expand the playbook if he does. Personally, watching his college tape, I just don’t see an NFL talent, he’s way too wild, but obviously the Bucs think different since they signed him – I hope they’re right.

    ———

I’m not a UF fan, not since Spurrier coached there.

Also hated the draft pick, hated his college tape, he threw rainbow puffball garbage in college and that doesn’t translate to the NFL. But the Bucs basically retaught him how to throw the ball, and he has been getting a lot more zip on the ball the last couple of preseasons – and he looked really good last week. No idea why people root against him so hard, in the limited snaps were we see him, he’s generally looked quite good.

    1. Holy crap what kind of crap team employs Darden to this day?!

    2. I’m well aware. Only hurts his chances.

    3. I actually like Tez Johnson but the football IQ for returning has been one of the worst I’ve seen in a single game. And then you add the bad drop on a wide-open pass….

  429. buc4evr Says:

I’d take Greene over Tez for punt returns. He can go to the practice squad.

  430. BucforLife Says:

    Rod Munch
Trask was a heisman finalist and his college tape was great and that’s why Tampa picked him. He’s a good throwing qb just got picked by the wrong team that won’t give him reps or a chance imo. He could be a backup in the nfl not a starter but they should definitely see in live game being they spent a second round pick on him. Teddys a injury probed guy who won’t win nothing we have already seen that

  431. Hunter Says:

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I’m guessing the coaches chewed him out for letting a punt go earlier in the game and that maybe got in his head there. Not a good excuse by any means, but I’m reaching for hope.

  432. Rod Munch Says:

    Hunter Says:
And then you add the bad drop on a wide-open pass….

    ——–

That absolutely was not a drop, he’s running full speed and the pass was literally directly above his head, he’d have had to make an amazing catch to snag that out of the air. Even Dave Moore on radio said that, and he’s pretty tough on receivers.

  433. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    Darden plays for the Seahags

  437. Hunter Says:

Rod…… if that’s not a bad drop, then there’s no such thing as a bad drop. The ball was there. Period.

If ANY WR has a catch radius that small, then they have no business sniffing the field in a uniform. That’s an absolutely absurd take.

  438. firethecannons Says:

if Baker goes down, we are not going very far with Trask or Bridgewater(injury prone) it will be essentially over if it is a serious injury

  439. Jeffrey Becker Says:

hunter thinking same thing. he calls for a fair catch, they say you should have run. he lets a dangerous ball land rather than catch the punt, and it takes a Steelers bounce and makes him look bad again. so they tell him he needs to be more aggressive. then he lets another ball hit the turf and realizes oh snap i’m supposed to be aggressive, so he runs after it and chokes. thrown in the dropped pass on a crosser (high pass though) and he’s deeper in his own head than he’s been since freshman year. if you’re gonna keep a guy like him, i’d rather it was greene. at least he can play QB in a pinch lol. tougher too it seems.

  440. Matt Says:

If Trask can’t play well in preseason games why should he get a chance in the real games?

    Rod Munch
Trask was a heisman finalist and his college tape was great and that’s why Tampa picked him.

    ——-

Talking about his college tape for an NFL player, he threw a bunch of soft serve crap that doesn’t work in the NFL, which is why they literally had to reteach him how to throw the ball – they’ve even said they had to do that.

Trask was basically a modern (but worse) Danny Wuerffel – except Trask is big enough that they could get him to whip his arm more to add velocity. He still doesn’t have good velocity, but it’s at least NFL capable now. I’ve been overall impressed with his improvement overall, which is why I wanted to see him out with the starters tonight.

  443. SteveK Says:

Me too, Rod. Agree 100 about Trask.

Rod…… if that’s not a bad drop, then there’s no such thing as a bad drop. The ball was there. Period.

    ———-

Can guys sometimes make that catch, sure, but the vast majority of the time, people are not reaching straight up, running full speed, and snagging the ball out of the air – there is no one that knows anything about football that labels that a drop, and certainly no one with any credibility would claim it’s a ‘bad drop’.

Again, if you ever listen to radio, you know Dave Moore is pretty tough on guys, and he said literally the same thing, that it’s not a drop, that Ballzsack has to lead him better.

  445. Hunter Says:

The good news is that I think Tez played bad enough to not get stolen off the Practice Squad, which is where I’m guessing he’ll end up for sure now.

The #1 thing you need from a returner is 100% trust (that he won’t turn the ball over or do something stupid). Unfortunately he’ll never have that trust back. Not anytime soon, at least.

So then it comes down to his receiving ability. Def potential there, but that bad (and I do mean bad) drop was no bueno.

  446. Rod Munch Says:

In the very limited snaps I’ve seen Greene, he’s really impressed. He needs to make the practice squad for sure – plus give him snaps at QB, would be a great gadget player down the road perhaps.

  447. Jmarkbuc Says:

What was with the catch where Tez caught it and slid immediately?

  448. orlbucfan Says:

I just want Trask to get some serious playing time with the 1st string Offense. No, I didn’t go to UF/FSU and have no dawg in that fight.

  449. Joe Says:

What was with the catch where Tez caught it and slid immediately?

Kill the clock. They called a timeout immediately. There was what, 35 seconds left in the half at the time? Actually a smart move. Didn’t appear he was going to break out.

  450. Hunter Says:

I hate the Gators, and I still believe in Trask as a serviceable backup. Not by any means infatuated with him, but he’s the kind of guy that would probably play better in a real game situation than what he’s shown so far.

  452. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Thanks Joe..

That was my guess too, but it might have been worth a second or two to try and yac. I mean we called time out immediately anyway.

Tex’s first return was nice, but after that, just not good. The whole team for that matter. We clearly don’t have the depth we thought we did. Maybe expectations can be tempered now and we can get to work.

    Coaches too.

  453. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, I looked it up and Darden was 5th in punt return yards last year – was upper middle pack in terms of yardage (hard to give a number since they don’t really filter out the guys who only have a couple of returns). Also averaged nearly 27-yards per kickoff return, which was pretty much middle of the pack.

People hated on Darden, but year in, year out, even with the Bucs he was a middle of the pack returner.

  457. Rod Munch Says:

These anti-Tez idiots are just not very smart. The kid made a great play earlier, then made a bonehead play later. This is actually a good use for preseason. If he does that bonehead play again in the regular season, then that’s when you go nuts and act like a psycho.
