Logan Hall Believes Bucs Defense Practicing With An Edge

July 27th, 2025

Defensive energy.

Since about halfway through the first Bucs training camp practice on Wednesday, Joe thinks the defense has been flying around.

Antoine Winfield is laying the law down. Tykee Smith is making plays. YaYa Diaby has been living in the Bucs’ backfield. Even Chris Braswell (!) is flashing.

So Joe asked Logan Hall after practice Friday if Joe’s eyes were deceiving him. Is the Bucs defense was really that active.

“I would say that’s true,” Hall said. “Third-day practice, a little bit longer, things getting a little more ramped up, flying around an individual.

“I think people are starting to, you know, get into the flow a little bit. Everybody’s flying around and moving better.”

Part of that, Hall said, is that so many defensive starters are back. Younger guys have more experience. There’s not much guessing as a result. Everyone seems to know everyone else’s role.

Hall said the Bucs are disappointed how last season ended, how they let winnable games slip away. So part of the energy, Hall said, is that defenders don’t want to repeat the sins of last year.

“You know, you just gotta have that recall,” Hall quipped.

If the offense can be as good as last year — it could be better — and the defense plays just a little better, who knows how far this team can go come January?

Bucs defense practicing with an edge. Yeah his name is Hassen Reddick! If YaYa can do what Rice was trying to teach him, maybe we’re playing with two edges. As far as Braswell goes fans should cut him some slack. He didn’t get enough reps last season, those were wasted on JTS. Plus his OLB coach was a joke. If he doesn’t show up this season, it’s on him.

I would love to hear an unfiltered Dungy critique of the Swiss Cheese scheme. He had to be just as disgusted as most objective fans watching two years of bend over and break. Will Todd listen to him?

The magic 8 ball says, “Signs point to ‘no.’ “

What a treat that was to view on this lovely Sunday morning. Dungy flipped the culture, and Bowles keeps it going. I’m expecting a serious switch flip with our D this year. The breaker has been reset, last year is history. Thanks for posting Joe!

i doubt dungy revealed his true thoughts when he disagreed but cool pic

  5. Anyhony Says:

@ Aqualung: Dungy would never make the critique you think he would because Dungy knows that defense was being rebuilt and injured at the same time. Change your name to Aquabrain cause your thoughts are watered down.

great chat love the latter portion

  7. Anyhony Says:

@ Aqualung : would you prefer he play man with 3rd and 4th string corners, we would have lost twice as many games by double digit scores. we have been injured and young for the last couple years.

    Great vidio!

If Todd Bowles play his soft zone against the Falcons
It will be a repeat of last year, when the Falcons average 33.5 PPG against us. It was so pathetic, that during our second game.

Drake London caught 12 of 13 passes against us
Not a defender within 5 yards of him the entire game

I think Logan Hall should be coming off the edges standing up because he’s to small to play on the line.

  11. LakelandBuc Says:

Logan Hall had the best game of his career against the Falcons

He had two sacks in the 2nd game against them
He was dominant, l expect a good game from him in the opener

    @Anyhony

Agree with your comments. What amuses me is IF Todd had followed the “as most objective fans watching two years of bend over and break” wanted they would have had somethine else to beotch about. Mainly why were the Bucs surrendering so many passing long TD’s thrown over their inexperienced heads!
    LMAO

  13. Oneilbuc Says:

The bucs was ranked 16th in scoring defense that’s not bad but it ain’t good either it’s average. In 2023 we were ranked 7th in scoring defense and we still got knock out of the playoffs the second round because of Baker int on the last drive. And last year it was his fumble that changed the momentum of that game. Just like Baker said he has to stop turning over the ball so much and that he’s working on that and it’s good to hear he working on that.
