Final appearance?
So the first Bucs player was honored.
The NFL is doing something different this year. Instead of filling Sunday nights with programming on NFL Network, the annual “Top-100 Players” is being announced on Twitter. Drip by drip to kill the month of July leading to the start of training camp coverage.
The NFL is very much a TV game in all respects.
So the first in what Joe believes will be several players was announced this morning on Twitter. Bucs linebacker Lavonte David checks in at No. 96.
Remember this list is allegedly chosen by player votes.
It is cool to see David, 35, getting national run this late in his career. Joe suspects this will be David’s final appearance on this list. Why? This may be David’s last year in the NFL.

Really hoping #54 stays healthy and gets a LOT of “national run” in this – his 14th and likely final season as an NFL player.
Lavonte David is more than deserving to receive a gold jacket and take his rightful place in Canton as one of the greatest football players to ever play the game!

Not so sure Joe. IF we have an exceptional year, but don’t win the Super Bowl, AND LVD stays healthy AND has a quality year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go for 1 more year. He’s close to making it into the HOF, but I think it’ll take 1 more Super Bowl win to put him over the top.

Winning a SB this year for Lavonte and Mike, putting and exclamation mark on what could possibly be their final seasons before retirement. Both HOF, both absolute ballers.
And, for Baker, it would be glorious to see him win a Super Bowl and see the rest of the league, including the Browns, have to take a collective sigh and scratch their heads thinking we passed on this guy.

He’ll be back if he has another solid productive season and remains healthy. There’s A LOT on the line for HIM personally, as he continues to move up the ‘all-time’ lists for tackles, & etc. He could make it awfully tough for HOF voters to leave him out permanently.

Another dog and pony show. David is one of and has been his whole career the best players in the NFL. He should be top 20 for his entire career.

Should be way higher. Dude is a Hall of Fame player and will make it in I believe, he’s also the nfl’s active leader in solo tackles. Put more respect on this player and put him in top 25

I doubt very much that there will be an advocate for David like the Sage to get him into the hall of fame when the time comes. Another Lombardi trophy might be needed to seal the deal. We all know what LVD has meant to our franchise, however.
