Chris Godwin Seems Happier

July 27th, 2025

The mystery surrounding Chris Godwin’s surgeries and rehab continues, but Joe can at least report something today.

Godwin seemed much more upbeat after practice than he has been the past couple of sessions. He also had a little more pep in his step walking back into One Buc Palace after mingling with fans and signing autographs.

Godwin has yet to address media since training camp kicked off Wednesday, and he’s been watching practice in street clothes.

Tristan Wirfs also continues to watch practice with crutches but is wearing a team jersey. Today, Joe saw Wirfs visibly relying less on the crutches and almost not using them when he was holding his son.

It’s something — as the clock ticks toward August.

How about Sua Opeta? Will he ever play or is he just waiting for his injury settlement. Does he even show up for practice ? lol.

Thanks JOE. I really appreciate all the work you put into getting the insider BUCS info. Keep up the good work bro!

Of course he’s happier — he’s looking at that BIG FAT BANK BALANCE

Tom, that is not what Godwin is about. If it was, he’d be in Boston.

Not as good sign Wirfs is using crutches. Normally you shouldn’t need crutches for a simple scope. Hell most people are up walking without them after knee replacement. Wirfs definitely missing the first four games. Bucs screwed the pooch on this one. Definitely should’ve had surgery sooner, like back in January.

I’m a little ticked off about the Wirfs situation too, but I think he and the BUCS did indeed have a viable plan. They did the scope 9 weeks before the opener. It takes about 6-8 weeks to recover completely…typically. turned out to be worse than they thought. We are still 6 weeks away.

  7. Fred McNeil Says:

As for Godwin, we can probably afford to let him go on PUP for 4 weeks. We are loaded at receiver.

well at least mid season we will have reinforcements, its a long season and we will need Godwin and Wirfs later half of the season. most teams do not get reinforcements midseason–so theres that.

Thanks for the latest, Joes. One of my favorite players and people (he’s big into animal rescue). So, so relieved he didn’t quit and retire cos who could have blamed him? He’s also mentoring Egbuka just like ME13 did him. We are definitely loaded for bear at wide receiver. Heck, even our RBs can catch. Can’t believe what I’m typing, but it sure feels good. Bring on September!

    Hodad , most people aren’t 360 lbs.

    He ain’t missing 4 weeks.

    Sask…exactly

It was reported to be a SLIGHT tear in the MCL and being asymptomatic means he showed no signs of a slight tear, maybe a sprain or just lingering discomfort. I would rather see him use the crutchs as long as he needs them or feels safe screw what it looks like to anyone.

Internet doctors giving incredibly accurate diagnosis and medical opinions.
    Idiotic.
