Very Minor Injury For David Walker

June 11th, 2025

Rookie edge rusher David Walker.

Joe wouldn’t normally shake because a fourth-round draft pick was sidelined during a June minicamp practice, but David Walker isn’t the typical pick.

The Bucs celebrated in a big way when they grabbed the University of Central Arkansas edge rusher in Round 4. Heck, outside linebackers coach Larry Foote crowed that Walker is a Super Bowl piece.

Today, Walker was out for a second consecutive practice and veteran edge rusher Haason Reddick told media that the rookie is “going through” something “health-wise.”

That got Joe’s antennae up, but there is no reason for alarm.

Walker’s injury was described to Joe as a very minor muscle strain and he likely would play if there was a game on Sunday.

The team is being very strict during this minicamp with any player that has the smallest of injuries. Smartly, the Bucs want everyone leaving town for vacation healthy — and healthy for training camp in July.

Just keep Logan Hall from stumbling into him in a drill and we should be ok.

He is the most intriguing new guy to me this year. Can’t wait for training camp.

Predictably, it’s aquabung first in line to be negative.

I’m actually really intrigued by all of our picks.
Top Shelf WR? Not since ME13
2 capable starters at CB? not since Dean and Davis who won a SB
Unique guys at OLB and DT and a unicorn of a WR.
    What’s not to like?

I am more excited about this season than when Brady arrived.
Simply because I was “Hopeful” we would see Brady do what they said he couldn’t. I’m completely confident this team can do it. Will they is why you watch!

  11. Obvious One Says:

O crap. And we’re off the races?

Let’s just hope that the training department was sent a message an it read
    ” NOT THIS YEAR! ”

I don’t know about guys but I’m going to “assume” that None of us are interested is setting any kind of Obscure record! Something like “the locker room that most resembles a triage unit”….

Most “starts” to a season from ANY Pro Team ANYWHERE, EVER, having approximately 50% of the 1st string team members on the disabled list before the second game of the year!

Send in a Priest to Bless the locker room and RUN THAT DEMON OUT!

I’m chewing my fingernails wondering when the shoe is gonna drop! I’d like to be pleasantly surprised for a change, and maybe save some of my fingernails this year

Joe reports “minor injury” and would play on Sunday if it was game time and folks freakout as usual.

  13. Stanglassman he Says:

It’s sounds like a soft tissue injury most likely a hamstring. The trainers need to drill hydration into his head. Lots of young players don’t keep hydrated enough. What you did in Arkansas doesn’t necessarily work in the subtropical climate of Tampa.

  14. Nillyboy133 Says:

Pass rush is all that matters

  15. Aqualung Says:

What in the world is negative about hoping Logan Hall doesn’t stumble into him and causing a season ending injury? Expecting it would be negative. Hoping it doesn’t happen is quite the positive. Just like hoping to see a real pass defense in 2025 is positive. Maybe someone has an erection for something besides sacks.

Should be some fierce competition from all the OLBs in camp. Not sure if anyone is a lock ecept maybe Nelson and Diaby. Although I think Diaby needs to pick it up.

    Go Bucs!
