“Precautionary” Rest For Tristan Wirfs

June 10th, 2025

The big black knee brace on Tristan Wirfs’ right leg today looked ominous.

He didn’t practice and worked away from the team during much of today’s mandatory mincamp practice session.

Todd Bowles says Wirfs will be fine for training camp and this was just a “precautionary” measure and there’s no reason for concern.

Last month, Bowles mentioned that five of seven Bucs missing voluntary OTA practice were banged up. Apparently, Wirfs was one of those guys.

  3. 813bucboi Says:

CHARLIE HECK needs all the reps from now until late july imo….

    rest wirfs until he’s 110%….

i think we’d be 1 and done in the playoffs without baker this year….we’re picking in the top 10 of the draft without wirfs….

    rest em coach!!!!!!

    GO BUCS!!!!!!

  4. Truth be Told Says:

This is a Nothing Burger. Don’t let him play until Week #1. Arguably our #1 best player but not our most important. That would be Baker!! Go Bucs!

Wirfs bubble wrapped til week one would be a mistake unless it’s more serious than they are leading on. OL needs time to gel. Especially in a new offense. I think there’s going to be more changes in the offense than people realize. Grizz wants to put his stamp on it. The language will be the same but not necessarily the same formations and philosophy. I think it will look more like Miami’s and a bit less of the Rams.

We now know 3 of the 5 nicked up during the offseason. Wirfs, Palmer and Pratt were the 3 Bowles got asked about today. Let’s find out who the other 2.

it will be a sad day when he retires early…

  8. Buc1987 Says:

Where’s Jeff to tell us all that Wirfs is toast?

  9. Jack Burton Mercer Says:

Plenty of reason for concern. It’s a knee brace after all.

  10. Coconut Doughnut Says:

Ironically he suffered this injury jumping into the pool..

  11. Buckybucs Says:

Some of yall worry way too much…it is June and first football drills. Best to be say by wearing a brace early.

I usually stay positive about these things, but am worried about Tristan. Hope it’s nothing serious.

  13. Anyhony Says:

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Vanessa Anne Says:

Hoping this is nothing serious and Tristan is back on the practice field soon.

On the plus side, it means some first team reps for the backups, which we hope we won’t need, but may come in handy during the season.

    Fingers crossed…

  15. LakelandSteve Says:

Wirfs doesn’t need to play in preseason just line him up on opening day.

  16. Stanglassman he Says:

Apparently it was a knee wrap not a big bulky black brace. Lol.
That sounds like a minor weight lifting strain.

  17. Stanglassman he Says:

I take it back that was a big bulky wrap on Wirfs leg. JC Allen posted a picture. Was it the right leg he has the MCL issue last year? I hate going into a season with such an important player hobbled.

  18. garro Says:

Injuries with Bowles are so frustrating! We do not have a game this week Todd!

Wirfs leg coulld be falling off and we get …”We are taking it day to day” or “its fine”. At this point in the year it hurts the team to give fans the truth?

    Go Bucs!

  19. Bucschamp Says:

Who is Wirfs backup just in case?
