Todd was gifted the job after being out coached again in the playoffs against the Rams. From 2019 to 2021, any time he matched up against the Rams or Aints both who had competent offensive minds calling plays the Bucs were a combined 1-8, Bowles showed over and over he could not beat elite offensive coordinators
Took a 13 win team and coached them to a 8 win record and showed quite a few times he was the same scared/conservative coach from his days in Jersey
What has he shown over the last 3 seasons that says he deserves an extension? Bad choice by these owners

Glazers got this right. The Bucs have no drama and are getting stronger. Todd has a clock management director this coming season and the roster is coming together in a grand way. The players fully respect him. I am happy for Todd and Jason. A good decision by the Glazers.

Only because Multi Year is two or more. Five years is a long time. Especially when the team is one season from making a 2025 version of Deshaun Watson blunder.

I understand the Glazer mindset now. As long as we arent in the basement every year, then you are doing a good enough job. They dont care about championships, they just dont want to be a laughingstock. And clearly their are a lot of fans with the same mindset. Sad.

Couch fan – what are you on about? He’s only won a NFC South championship every year. EVERY YEAR. If that’s not good enough for you during a period of transition from a SUPER BOWL roster to a brand new group, then I don’t know that you’ll ever be anything but a miserable person. A rebuild on the fly and you win every year. It’s arrow up. Things are going well. Go smoke a bowl and R-E-L-A-X!

After being in cap hell from diving through an open window with Brady/Gronk/Furnette/Brown, having a decimated interior o-line, having to completely replace the best quarterback of all time, dealing with defensive injuries and having to replace players 95% through the draft, I don’t know if any other coach could have done any better.
A lot of my opinion will come down to how he does this season barring injuries. But I do like how the players love him, I like how he is a good duo with Licht and he’s helped build an amazing culture. I know his decisions on the draft go kind of hand in hand with Jason, and they’ve done a great job the last 3 years. It hasn’t been perfect but he’s learning and making moves to correct. Let’s see what happens.

Let’s not forget – Chucky got fired after getting a big contract extension from the Glazers…
I am fine with it because it’s not my money and it won’t prevent the Glazers from firing Bowles if the wheels fall off the wagon.

Come back to this poll after Bowles is Bowles this season and people realize that the 9th year tenure head coach doesn’t change his stripes and still makes the same stupid decisions. They likely gave him the extension because they don’t want him going into the season as a lame duck head coach. Friendly reminder Gruden got fired 1 year after he was given his contract extension.

Can you stop waving the stupid division titles, you sound like the Saints when they had Brees and we mocked them because they couldn’t do squat taking advantage of a weak division except Payton is leagues better then Bowles will ever be as a coach.

I would have waited till after this season to see if it was injuries or scheme that plagued our D last season. I believe Bowles will turn it around with the additions of Reddick , Parrish, Morrison . These 3 players could have been all we were lacking I know our Defense will be more talented on paper this season, I just hope they establish an identity early. LFG!!!!

I remember hearing Joel Glazer talking once about their evaluation of coaches, and he said for him, “Do they still play for him?” I think it’s pretty obvious this team loves Bowles, so there you go.

Todd helped select a great and undervalued OC (el serpiente), put together a great start with an aging defense, held the team together after massive injuries hit the defense, and kept the defense competitive with guys with names no one will ever remember… and he did it 2 seasons in a row, while winning yet another NFCS championship and another playoff appearance.
These new Buc fans are pretty spoiled. I like it, because it sets the expectation & pressure very high on the organization – but as a longtime Buc fan – it is wild to see.

And Tony Dungy got fired with one year left on his contract, and Gruden came in the door.
That was all done under the Glazer’s dad. I think the sons are a lot different and will keep Todd and Jason the full extension.

I imagine the glazers were forced to make this move since Most Actually Watched the games and read the headlines that Bowles left in his trail on the regular. His Greatesf Repeated Complaint of HIMSELF is that he couldn’t get them (defense) to preform basic communication. Week after excruciating week he cried he (Bowles) just couldn’t figure it out…
I’d also say that it’s a shame that so many believe the embarrassing finishes these last few years, Weren’t Embarrassing! 29th ranked defensive secondary on Most teams (when you also double as the defensive coordinator) Earn an extension.
The defense has been in Shambles and I don’t care that most people will Never Know what it is to be Great or Special at almost nothing. But to walk purposely blind is a show of poor decisions and bad personal life bets that end you up living in bad neighborhoods and broke as a joke. “Mediocre IS somes Creed” and you simply Can Not lead a Choking on Dust, Horse to water and have to explain why it might want to go ahead and wet its lips or make it drink..
Never the less, I’m still going to chose classy and Congratulate Bowles on his extention. Licht I had no doubt. Bowles….. just Congratulations
I Sure “Hope” as I’m forced to smoke Hopeium, that this IS the year you FINALLY put it all together because in the end and the Reason I Demand Better than average is Because I REALLY WANT MY TEAM TO GO BACK TO THE SUPER BOWL ASAP! And then Turn Around AND DO IT AGAIN in order to get a Buccaneers DYNASTY In Place before our window closes…… A Goal that a “Mediocre Mort” will never aspire to..
