Steelers-Bucs Preseason Game Is Set

May 15th, 2025

The Bucs have not released official dates and times for their three preseason games, but one of their August opponents has made a game official.

Tampa Bay will face the Steelers on the road in Week 2 of the preseason and the Steelers are promoting a Saturday, Aug. 16 start at 7 p.m. The Bucs have said the game will be broadcast on WFLA-TV, Ch. 8.

The Bucs’ preseason Week 1 home game agaist the Titans has not been announced, and there are no details out on the preseason finale at home against Buffalo.

It is odd, however, that the Bucs are hosting a preseason opponent they will face during the regular season. The Bucs will be in Buffalo on Sunday, Nov. 16, for a 1 o’clock kickoff in (Week 11).

Couldn’t agree more on the Buffalo preseason opponent. Neither team will show anything resembling their regular season playbook. What a waste of time and effort for both teams in their last preseason contest.
NFL scheduling at its most dubious best.
Perhaps next year they’ll give us the Saints, Falcons and Panthers for all three preseason matchups …

Any word on combined workouts/controlled scrimmages with either the Titans or Steelers?

Seems that’s when starters get the most and best ‘pre-season’ work these days….

No thank you. Will never go to another preseason game, not even if they drop the tickets to 20 bucks each

Seriously, a non-issue. Very few teams, the Bucs included, play any of their starters in the 3rd pre-season game, so it’s not like either team is showing anything to the other, least of all with players, the majority of whom will not make their respective teams.

That said, I also thought it was extremely odd. I don’t ever remember seeing a preseason game against an opponent that a team will be facing later on in the real season.
