Jason Licht Describes Every 2025 Bucs Draft Pick In One Word

May 13th, 2025

Bucs first-round draft pick Emeka Egbuka.

Now this was fun.

Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht was a guest this week on the Green Light podcast with fill-in host Beau Allen, the former Bucs defensive tackle.

Licht was asked to describe each of his 2025 draft picks in one word each. His choices are below:

Receiver Emeka Egbuka (Round 1): “reliable”
Cornerback Benjamin Morrison (Round 2): “ballhawk”
Cornerback Jacob Parrish (Round 3):  “feisty”
Edge rusher David Walker: “freak”
Defensive lineman Elijah Roberts: “steady”
Receiver/returner Tez Johnson: “fun”

Licht went on to say everybody at rookie minicamp last week looked as good or better than expected. “Everybody was impressive,” Licht said.

Joe liked the descriptions and is curious to hear what fans think.

After hearing their pressers…..I’d say Christian describes them all……

  2. Aqualung Says:

At least Tezzy looks like a young Eddie Murphy, so his humor shtick seems more natural.

  3. PSL Bob Says:

I’m waiting for the fun when Tez starts returning punts and kick offs. Release the squirrel!

  4. GoneGator Says:

I like em all. Long way to go yet but our new dudes all have talent and seem to have the right attitude. More will be revealed 🤞🏼

  5. ToddBowles#1 Says:

Your malcious attacks on Joe are getting old. –Joe

  6. Guzzie5 Says:

Who weighs more Tez or the duck from last season

  7. Aqualung Says:

    The duck.

  8. Ron Potter Says:

Love me a GM who loves his job, is professional, loves his choices and can have a little fun! Great article, Joe!

  9. BillyBucco Says:

I mean nobody wants to hear Bowles sucks over and over from TB#1 anyway.
He is our coach and inherited a lot but has built a lot.
Every year something has drastically improved.
He is our coach period and I really hope we win 14 games and he sits as the coach of the best record in franchise history.
Wouldn’t that record make the commentary about Bowles as a quality coach a mute argument?
Im ready for real commentary about players and schemes and whatever the Joes bring up, but not a constant copy and paste.

  10. BillyBucco Says:

So back to the point I think those names are pretty spot on.
I love the Tez as a squirrel thing. Think T shirts etc.
Did Oregon use a squirrel with him or are those comments new?

  11. Jeffrey Becker Says:

    pretty much

  12. KABucs Says:

ToddBowles#1… he’s just a troll with nothing positive to say. Trying to stir up trouble. Can you block his IP address?
That way regardless of what made up name this douche uses, none of them make it to the comments?
    Just curious.

If Licht’s calling Morrison the ball hawk instead of Parrish, I can’t wait to see Jacob hit some people and Benjamin in coverage getting some ints.

  13. J Says:

    Agree with Billy.

How much does your life have to suck to be as cynical as this tb1 loser?

  14. Hodad Says:

I think we hit it out of the park with all our picks. I see two new starting corners. A starting caliber receiver. That alone is an amazing draft where we picked. If Walker, Roberts, and Tezman hit the ground running, what a draft. The future so bright, might have to buy some shades.

  15. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

Joe, for the sake of the culture here in the comments section, you should just ban ToddBowles#1. Dude is a loser/troll who brings nothing but bad vibes here.

  16. Anyhony Says:

Turdbowles#2 will just go to the library and get a new name.

  17. Larrd Says:

“Freak” is my favorite. Reminds me of Simeon and JPP!

  18. Todd Bowls Says:

Nice article, Joe. I’d like to hear a one-word description for Baker, Evans, Godwin, Vea and Lavonte.

Now you know: The term “buccaneer” itself, meaning a pirate or privateer, originates from the French word “boucanier,” referring to a meat smoker.

Boucanier: The French term for a person who cooks meat over a grill (boucan), which was also the term for the hunters in Hispaniola who smoked meat for preservation and sale.

  19. Jason Says:

Back in the day we actually had good trolls who were occasionally funny and made occasionally valid points.

    I miss Medicated Pete! Lol.
