Bucky Irving Isn’t Worried About Touches (Or Rachaad White Getting Traded)
May 20th, 2025
Wants a strong RB room.
Kay Adams is looking right at you, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht.
Whispers floated around NFL circles that the Bucs could swap running back Rachaad White for draft picks since last year Bucky Irving established himself as the Bucs’ go-to back. And, White is in a contract year.
Adams doesn’t want to see White get shipped out. And Bucky calmed Adams’ nerves, claiming that won’t happen.
Bucky appeared this month on Adams’ weekday show, “Up and Adams.” Bucky not only said White isn’t going anywhere but keeping him maintains a strong Bucs running back room.
“Man, I feel like he’s good where he at, man,” Bucky said of White’s job stabilit. “It’s a great one-two punch we got.
“We’ve got a lot of great running backs in our room that could go anywhere and be starters.”
And Bucky made it clear he wants a loaded running backs room and isn’t worried about touches. He thinks he, White and Sean Tucker will get plenty of chances.
“I had three good running backs in Oregon, and we always used to rotate, and we pretty much, just going to the game, and like whenever your opportunity [comes] you just got to go out there and compete,” Bucky said. “It’s not, ‘Oh, he starts’ or ‘He starts.’ It’s not like that.
“You have to go out there and compete with your brother.”
Joe loves this attitude. Look, if Bucky was just remotely selfish, he’d probably be a bit jealous or suspicious of White (and Tucker) and wouldn’t want those guys around, possibly chipping away at his touches and yards and touchdowns.
Instead, Bucky wants a lot of good backs, knowing they will both keep him fresh and help the Bucs win.
That’s a team guy, right there.

Bucky has a great attitude. Buck, Tuck, and White are a winning trifecta!

Why would you trade R White?
Keep the same rushing game as last season….
What are you going to get for R White anyways?

^^^^^^
I keep going back to the Saints game. Bucky RB1 and Tucker RB2. 277 yards rushing. Tucker took home player of the week. 51-27 win. They never went back to it.

That’s just BS from some lazy sports writers to give themselves something to write about.

White is too good of a fit in this offense to let him go for such a pittance as we would probably be offered. I don’t know if we resign him, but I would keep him this year for sure. Next year will take care of itself.

As you guys know I hate negativity. Especially when it’s gratuitous like…
“This interview is 12 days old now…how long will you keep referencing it?”
As anybody who has attended this blog for even minimal time the Joe’s write about what THEY want to write about. And guess what? It has worked supremely well for them. They get plenty of eyeballs and they don’t have to suck up to any “blog experts”.
As someone who once worked at least on air in this business, I have nothing but respect for the Joes editorial selections. They allow us some large latitude for our personal whizzing contents. They cover everything germane and obviously have plenty of sources. Of all the things to complain about in this life, JBF is not one of them! Just sayin’.

I checked with Houston and all systems are Lol! I’m down with you guys about Tucker, I don’t know his 40 time but I do know he is FAST!!

I don’t see a situation where they trade White. He’s probably the closest they have to a three down back. He can run, catch, and is good at picking up the blitz as well. Bucky is a special player for sure. He just needs more experience picking up the blitz. Tampa has an embarrassment of riches on paper. I hope everyone stays healthy and Godwin comes back at a high level.

Wouldn’t be smart to move white. Only if a seriously great deal come along like getting a legit starter at S , ILB or another pass rusher but again they would only leave Tucker and Bucky. Buckys a pinball he’s bouncing off guys left and right all game and all season and that wears down a back. Gunna need all of them
