BSPN: 2024 Bucs = 2023 Broncos

May 31st, 2024

Bucs coach Todd Bowles.

Joe’s glad someone has it all figured out.

It seems the NFL staff at BSPN, which includes several spreadsheeters, believes the Bucs will be in swinging distance to draft a quarterback in the first round next spring.

Too bad it’s a year too late.

It seems BSPN has their forecast for the 2025 draft all filled out. And the Bucs will be picking at No. 12. So if you are trying to figure out why the Bucs will be drafting that low, BSPN thinks the Bucs will have a losing record this fall.

Why does Joe say that? Well, picking No. 12 means you missed the playoffs. This spring, the Denver Broncos picked at No. 12 (and picked a quarterback). What was Denver’s record last year? It was 8-9.

Additionally, BSPN projects the Bucs to have a 14 percent shot of having a top-five pick in the draft and a 36.6 percent chance of selecting in the top-10.

Naturally, BSPN has the Dixie Chicks projected to win the division.

At least BSPN has the Bucs with a better record than the slimy Saints. And the Stinking Panthers were picked to have the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft.

Anyone who says anything positive about our Bucs at BSPN gets a pink slip me thinks.

    Go Bucs!

  2. BillyBucco Says:

Im sure they have the Cowboys in the top 10.
The Bears apparently are going to the playoffs.
    Houston is gonna upset KC.
The Chargers will compete for the Division, which is loaded.
    Blah Blah Blah.
They have become the worst analysts on football IMO.

This is the same group that will be running the NFL network. Trash in, trash out, NFL network will soon be unwatchable as well.

ESPN….didn’t they used to be involved with sports?

  6. Ha-Ha-Ha Says:

This was the year to draft offense, especially quarterback.
Next year the quarterback pickings will be slim. Load up on defense.

Tampa is the only team in the division I would have confidence in.
Carolina? The Saints are a shell of themselves, however they are a
tuff out for the Bucs. IDKW
BSPN is putting a lot of faith on team with a QB returning from injury.
I’m not sure Atlanta has improved their defense enough to win the division.
As for the SB ceiling, Cousins has never been the guy to get
you past the second round of the playoffs.

  7. Fred McNeil Says:

Why is BSPN even still in business?

  8. E Cummings Says:

what does the “B” in BSPN stand for?

  9. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

This is the same crew that continously posted the preseason stats of Kenny Pickett, and how he was poised to have a great year.

    Then August ended.

    Just a thought.

    Unfortunately, the headline is accurate.

  14. Brian in St Pete Says:

I think outside of a handful of “national teams” (NYG, NYJ, DAL, PHI, PIT, GB), the national football media does zero research on any team past who the QB is and what their record was the previous season. It’s just a pathetic effort on the part of most if these outlets.

The joys of a small market team…

  16. Dave Pear Says:

With Todd there is definitely a low floor, but his roster has a high ceiling. Last year going from 3-1 to 4-7 was telling. Fortunately Baker rallied the troops on offense, AW2 came to the rescue and Todd benched Diva for Britt, demoted the male cosmetics salesman and elevated YaYa.

Can’t afford a swoon like that again – but Todd’s history of coming out slow and flat in games is hard to ignore.

    All that said, BSPN sucks.

Call me crazy but I can see all 4 nfc south teams at 9-8 10-7 not much separated them last year

  19. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, so they’re predicting the Bucs to lose that Atlanta game by 70 points? I’m not sure Bowles makes it through that week if it happens.

  20. TOMMY MORDUE Says:

All this nonsense just follows the narrative of the way the mainstream media has always treated our BUCCANEERS…( EXCEPT when we 1ST got Tom Brady perhaps..) WE won the Super Bowl as a wild card team in 2020,Division Championships in 21,22 & 23, yet they continue to disrespect us..Well, they are just adding fuel to our fire because we relish the role of the UNDERDOG!..& BAKER MAYFIELD is the perfect leader of this band of cutthroat pirates to lead us to the promised land AKA :SUPER BOWL..This TEAM is going to shock the World this season..I just have a good feeling about it..

  21. LouisFriend Says:

Anyone complaining about how the national media views the Bucs should remember that the Bucs thrive off being disrespected by the same people.

Don’t hope for better. Hope the media thinks even worse than they do. Nothing creates focus better than the anger of being utterly disrespected.

You mean signing an old QB, coming off a bad injury, having started just 4 playoff games in 12 years, with just one playoff win isn’t a sure path to the SB? Hence they drafted Penix is the first round!
