Tom Brady Talks About A Comeback

April 11th, 2024

Kyle, that stupid LFB slogan pisses me off.”

Free agent quarterback Tom Brady says he would consider playing again in a late-season savior role.

Joe already can hear the mean and shameful Baker Mayfield haters whispering about Mayfield having an unfortunate Christmas tree.

Yes, Brady really went there. You can watch the video below.

Is Brady just trying to stay relevant by throwing around some offseason BS. Probably. But Joe has no doubt Brady would love to suit up again for a handful of games, as would most former NFL players.

The barber who asked Brady the question proposed the 49ers as a destination. Brady spit out the “Patriots” and “Raiders” … “could be, you never know.”

Gimme the ball, Brady’s face said.

“I’m not opposed to it,” Brady said. “If they would, I don’t know if they’re gonna let me, if I become an owner of an NFL team, but I don’t know if — I don’t know. I’m always gonna be in good shape, always be able to throw the ball. So to come in for a little bit, like M.J. coming back? I don’t know if they’d let me, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”

Brady, of course, was referencing Michael Jordan returning to the Chicago Bulls after retiring to play minor league baseball in the 1990s, or Jordan retiring and then playing for Washington in 2000.

For those wondering, the Bucs no longer hold Brady’s rights. He turns 47 in August.

  4. JJ Says:

If we get back to the Superbowl, it’d be great to sign him. Maybe not to start, but rally the troops and get his last ring with us!

  5. The Fighting Schianoes Says:

Tom, we love you, but stop.

Brady spit out the Patriots and Raiders. Unfortunately, he didn’t spit out Bucs. šŸ˜”

I am glad we have Baker, but if the Goat wanted to help us out, that would be awesome too!

    Thinking the exact same thing.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Is he still under contract to us? Could we get something for the rights to him?

  12. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Raiders would be stupid enough to trade for his rights šŸ˜‰

  13. unbelievable Says:

    Bucs don’t own his rights

  14. Hodad Says:

No wonder your wife left you. Let it go Tom.

  15. Vancouver Buc Says:

    What Boss says.

  16. D-Rok Says:

Any team that fields a decent/good O-line will be one of Brady’s suitors.

He’s old, but still good. Good enough! But he needs a good O-line, wherever that may be and whenever they come a-calling.

  17. NCBuc Says:

Pretty sure he canā€™t be signed as being a partial owner of LV. Stranger things have happened I guess. Heā€™s probably just playing with everyone

  18. Durango 95 Says:

    No to a Brady return.

No to an OL in the 1st round.

No to Jon Gruden in the ROH.

    Hit the trifecta today.

  19. View from 132 Says:

Heā€™d die in the ring like Apollo Creed.

  20. Todd Says:

He looks like heā€™s getting fat.

    Over the hill.

    Yearning for attention.

But, whatever the universe decides, BRING IT!!!

  21. Mike Johnson Says:

Stay retired Tommy Boy. You are the GOAT. Don’t tarnish that. Your last year here in Tampa was truly abysmal.

  22. Statistically Insignificant Reader Says:

    YAWN

  23. BuxfaninTX Says:

Actually, Baker played better this past season than TB did his last one here..

  24. lambchopp Says:

He mentioned two teams that suck. Patriots also don’t have Darth Hoodie so no more tussle with Hoodie and Alex.

But, this dude is done. He would suck if he came in late season being out of the league, not having the reps with new players. The only real shot would be with the Bucs, but Baker will play with cracked ribs and a gimpy leg if he felt someone breathing down his neck.

We good. Thanks Tom, but no thanks. That time has passed.

  25. ScottyMack Says:

So, from what I’m reading here in the comments, if the Bucs are in playoff position in week 15 and Baker Mayfield is injured, folks here seem more comfortable with Trask or Wolford as their QB instead of Brady (should he decide to come back and be the “savior”). If so, you people are delusional!

Good for you, Tom! There’s still far more gas in his rusty tank than any other backup anyone can name and likely far more than half the current NFL starters.

BTW, I’m not saying he is better than Mayfield at this point in their respective careers. I’d sure as heck take him over what is currently on our bench, though!

  26. Oneilbuc Says:

Brady does not care about the bucs like some of yall think!! He haven’t been to a single game the bucs played last year . So you don’t have to keep kissing his behind like some of y’all di

  27. Oneilbuc Says:

Like some of y’all did the past 3 years.

  28. Beeej Says:

The guy was arguably the best qb in the league at age 43, ONLY because for the previous decade he’d trained many hours per day, even in the off-season, to the detriment of his personal life (DON’T marry a model if you want dinner on the table at 5PM, those women are high maintenance)

He’s probably STILL better than most, he can’t let it go

  29. cmurda Says:

I’m in agreement with Durango. All no. In fact, it’s tough to stop laughing right now at how ridiculous this would be. Licht ain’t stupid.

  30. sweti_yeti Says:

    Can we not?

I mean, seriously… This isn’t worth a mention, especially not on a Bucs site. He’s an attention wh0re, he’s not playing again, and definitely not in Tampa.

  31. Beeej Says:

when my post FINALLY shows up it will be utterly insignificant

You have to have some serious delusions of your own if you think its a given that a 47 year old player that would not have suiteded up for two years ( he’s not talkign about playign a season) would be better than trask or wolford.

Rodgers didn’t even take a big hit and he was out for the season. Mess with father time at your peril. He has laughed at eveyone that thought they coudl beat him.

  33. Rod Munch Says:

Just imagine if we had someone clutch like Brady at the end of the Lions game.

  34. Vancouver Buc Says:

The only ā€˜serious delusionsā€™ are comparing a typical 47 year old with the Goat. And more delusional is preferring Trask and Wolford, yes Wolford, over TB12.

  35. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I would never bet against Tom Brady pulling of the impossible.

I do think it’s funny that most of you are assuming he would return to Tampa if he came back.

The true test to see if you really think has has anything left in the tank? Would you be okay if he went to a division rival?

    If not, then you…well…you know…

“Actually, Baker played better this past season than TB did his last one here.”

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. Tom Brady had one bad year his entire career. That’s pretty good.

Someone like that doesn’t just lose the touch that quickly. It was a bad personal year for hij, and our teams was in shambles.

And Mayfield had a statically better year maybe…but he was up and down constantly.

  37. Capt Ahab Says:

Brady could probably do it. Heā€™s exceptional of taking care of his body. If anyone at his age could come back and be a factor itā€™s Brady.

  38. Cassius55 Says:

Bradyā€™s final year in Tampa may have been bad by his standards, but his terrible QBR was still higher than Bakerā€™s from last year – his completion percentage was higher, he threw for close to 4,700 yards (600 plus more than Baker) he was sacked close to half as much (22 vs 40) and he had more 4th qtr comeback wins. Baker did have 3 more TDs & 1 less pick and a big playoff win – but letā€™s face it, the D last year played so much better – closer to their 2000 form vs the prior year. Unfortunately, Brady is now pretty much a statue in the area of mobility, so an incredible o-line would be critical. But as far as him playing a few games somewhere this year? Well everyone has to remember how we all laughed at his prediction made in his late thirties to play until he was 45. Whether you like or dislike him the guyā€™s a freak and I would bet against him.

  39. Cassius55 Says:

    ā€¦.wouldnā€™t bet against him!

  40. JK Says:

I’ve learned , unequivocally, through this thread that Buccaneer Bonzai is clueless
    “Is he still under contract?”

“I’ll bet we could trade his rights to da Raiders!”

It’s always the loudest in the room that are the dumbest

  41. BAā€™s Red Pen Says:

His old azz didnā€™t want to get hit anymore.

  42. Lol Says:

Yuck no thanks. brady’s last year was not good. hes even older now.

  43. LongSeason Says:

Nah. Tom. Stay retired. Enjoy your life.
Thank you for what you did in bringing the Bucs and us fans our second Super Bowl.

  44. Irish Laughter Says:

I’m laughing all the way over here in Skibbereen. Tom has turned into an Attention Whore. Please Tom, you’re the GOAT. Let it rest and move on.
    Keeping it real in Ireland.
