Bucs Report Back To Work Today

April 15th, 2024

This photo is not meant to scare fans and cause traumatic reactions. It’s only to illustrate that April camp is only about conditioning, no helmets or anything resembling real football.

The first preseason game of 2024 is just four months away, but feel free to enjoy a taste of opening day this morning.

Today, the Bucs open their 2024 offseason workout program along with 24 other teams. The rest of the NFL started as much as two weeks ago, a benefit under league rules for having a new head coach.

In “Phase 1” of a team’s program, only meetings, conditioning work and rehab work are allowed after players go through their mandatory physicals.

    Somebody get Jamel Dean healthy.
And get Vita Vea on a treadmill.

  2. heyjude Says:

Yikes, that photo did startle me this morning! A blast from the past… I don’t think I will be able to get it out of my head at work today.

  3. Defense Rules Says:

Actually Joe, what photo says to me is … ‘You’ve come a long way baby’. Much prefer today’s team over that 2016 team (that look on ASJ’s face says it all).

  4. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Was 87 hammered at practice in this photo?

  5. heyjude Says:

We sure have come a long way.

Also, what is Glennon doing in the photo? Looks like he is bending over for an initiation paddle on the butt, possibly throwing up…?

  6. Lt. Dan Says:

Just stop Joe’s! That picture caused me to break out in hives and now I think I have a urinary tract infection!

  7. Mort Says:

    25 teams start today.

“The rest of the NFL started as much as two weeks ago, a benefit under league rules for having a new head coach.”

While technically a true statement, it is very misleading to readers who don’t know better.

  8. DBS Says:

Well Mort. Make sure you don’t finish being the smart ass. Why Not give everyone the rest of your knowledge?

  9. JimBobBuc Says:

Coen and the other offensive coaches need to start their meetings now to install their new system. The offensive line coaches, Kevin Carberry and Brian Picucci, need to deliver with the free agent OL guys they signed off on, Bredeson and Opeta.

I’m with the other comments, Dean needs to work with the trainers to stay healthy. How would Vita play at 320 instead of 340+ ?

  10. Joe in Michigan Says:

Remember the “Glennon Mob”? They were so in love with “The Long Necked One”! Ryan Pace read all of their comments on JBF and gave Glennon $15 million per season with the Bears! Hahahaha

  11. Tarheel Buc Says:

That’s Glennon making sure his toes are on the line. Trauma response to the Schiano days.

  12. BA’s Red Pen Says:

There is a lot of cross over with the Glennon Mob and The Occult of Trask.

  13. SB~LV Says:

Lol… well he did beat the Steelers in their stadium 🤣🤣🤣

  14. JUAN Says:

    @BA’s Red Pen

How long did you cry when UF rejected your application? Asking for several friends.

  15. DoooshLaRue Says:

Giraffe boy is merely ogling the stanky deuce ASJ dropped on the field.

  16. LouisFriend Says:

For all the people making of the Trask and Glennon fanboys remember that the Bucs loved them so much they used day 2 draft choices, kept them through their contracts and paid them a lot of money just to show up.

Right now nobody loves Trask as much as the Buccaneers. Think about that the next time Joe makes fun of people posting support for him here.

You think NFL teams keep a guy around they don’t want? They sign his checks, he cashes them and there’s NO reason to think he won’t be around this season to keep doing it. Nobody else that likes Trask is contributing a single penny to keep him on the Bucs roster. Or do you know something I don’t?

Didn’t say I like Trask by the way. College production doesn’t translate to the pros some systems.

Out to pick a fight with a kid that has been nothing but a true professional. I’m one of the few that believes when Kyle gets a shot many of you will be surprised and sad if he’s slinging it for another team. People are so quick to denounce the kid when he really has had a chance to play with starters instead of 3rd and 4th stringers. He was overlooked in college until he got a real opportunity. We all no the “open” qb competition was a farse. I as a true fan will support mayfield but do not be surprised to see Kyle have a solid career not on the bench

  21. Oneilbuc Says:

Bucsmarley. To be honest Kyle Trask was better than Baker Mayfield in training camp and that’s why we haven’t heard no one say Baker was just better than Trask in training camp. Baker Mayfield became the starter because of his popularity and that’s it . And I’m not a Trask fan or a Baker Mayfield fan I’m just speaking the facts that’s all. Now Baker Mayfield fan base thinks he was better because they are fans of Baker . But they never come with real evidence but all they say is he’s the starter and that’s why he won. But you can go back and see when Baker had 8 picks to Kyle Trask 1 and even at that time IRA said his scores told him that Baker will be the starter come week 1 and his sorse is apart of the bucs front office.
