YaYa Diaby Calls Out Crooked Pro Bowl Selection Process That Shafted Antoine Winfield

January 8th, 2024

Has teammate’s back.

It was almost like Bucs safety Antoine Winfield was playing p!ssed off yesterday over the corrupt Pro Bowl voting.

Losing out to a guy with no stats, Winfield once again balled out showing he’s the best safety in the NFL.

When is the last time you’ve seen a defensive back in a season force two fumbles at the goal line when opponents are reaching out to score a touchdown? Winfield has done that twice in the same season, within 13 games of each other.

In what Joe thought was an example of how tight-knit this Bucs team is, rookie outside linebacker YaYa Diaby unloaded on the folk who dissed Winfield on his Pro Bowl selection while Diaby appeared on the Buccaneers Radio Network.

“He is the best safety in the league, man,” Diaby said of Winfield. “He just doesn’t get the recognition, man.

“And I hate it. He is the best safety in the league and I love playing with him.”

And what a class move by Diaby to have his teammate’s back like that, even after a hat and T-shirt game.

Winfield described the play for the pen and mic club in the Bucs locker room after the game.

“I’ve been in that situation before,” Winfield said remembering punching the ball out at the goal line from dismal Desmond Ridder of the Dixie Chicks. “When I saw the receiver catch the ball and saw him stick the ball out with one hand and I thought he was going to reach for it.

“I kept my leverage and as soon he reached, I just punched it out. Like I said, I’ve been in that situation before so that was already on my mind.”

Would the Bucs have won yesterday’s game without Winfield? You could make an argument they would not.

Man, what a draft pick this guy was. What a player Winfield is.

Eff the Pro Bowl! The Bucs have a playoff game to prepare for.

Shut the Pro Bowl down!

    BEST SAFETY in the NFL!!!!

  2. D-Rome Says:

I completely agree with YaYa. He is the best safety in the league. There isn’t a safety I would take over him that is currently playing.

  3. Weebs10 Says:

We better pay Winfield!! Also, can’t wait to see what Yaya does in year two!!

  4. Alanbucsfan Says:

Winfield was a major factor in keeping T Hill out of the end zone in Bucs’ SB win

  5. Jerseybuc Says:

Love YaYa!! Kid starting to ball!! Kancey n yaya going be a problem for years

  6. NE Fan Says:

The Bucs are in, it’s playoff time,
Panthers took a knee and should be fined

When Baker tanks, he walks off with a limp,
Is it me or do we agree he looks like a chimp?

Bucs hope Brown and Hurts pain will hang on and linger,

It’s tough to throw with a fractured middle finger.

9 and 8 is better than last season, that is the banter,
but we all saw how Bowles gave away Atlanta.

Bucs are lucky, the Eagles are getting soft,
Can Bowles luck out and move on in the playoffs?

Good luck to Bucs fans, a long time in the rears,
Lift your heads high, Bowles is hear four more years!

  7. realistic-optimistic Says:

Winfield is easily the best S in the NFL. He’s a wrecking machine in the same category as Troy Polamalu and Ed Reed. We haven’t had a S like that in TB since Lynch was making WRs regret their life choices.

  8. Smashsquatch Says:

Love the snub. It’s now a rally cry.

  9. First Name Greatest Says:

What is crooked about the Pro Bow?

Voting is divided between Fans, Coaches & Players

Fans, Bucs do not have the biggest fanbase and do not have a legion of dedicated fans voting for their players daily to get them recognition.

Coaches, watch film, see how easy it is to pass on the Bucs defense and how bad they played on defense in their two prime time games this year.

Players, a large majority only pay attention to their team or the teams they play and are usually voting in their friends, teammates or players from winning teams

Pro Bowl is not crooked, if it is then so is the All Pro voting. Since there is voters like “The Sage” who is a voter but openly admits he doesn’t watch all the games or can’t because, he’s too bust investigating who stole his beach chair

  10. Boss Says:

best player on the team right now!!! as well as best at his position in the league!

  11. Crickett Baker Says:

Like I said before. It was not easy to find where to vote for the Pro Bowl players. I voted, but how many of you did? Not to mention all of the fans that filled the seats at RayJay and had no idea they needed to vote.

  12. Popcorn Mike Says:

Hell with the pro bowl,😊 the Bucs should not only pay him but they should give him a hefty bonus for yesterday days game ( don’t know if that’s 😊😊 ) because if he hadn’t knocked away those 2 TD passes, the Panthers beat us 14 to 9 To me that would not only been a major lost but also an embarrassment for the Bucs

  13. Aceofaerospace Says:

I view the pro bowl like I view the rock and roll hall of fame. An absolute joke.

  14. August 1976 Buc Says:

Blah Blah Blah, come on, Winfield is about to get the Bag

Since when has this not happened. People have been slighted for years, some blatant like Winfield and others not so blatant. WHATEVER, it happens every year.

Winfield is in line for a massssssive contract, he and his family are doing just fine.

  15. Bucfan1988 Says:

Watching that final kneel-down play yesterday with Saints/Falcons….
Jameis was interviewed afterward and was trying to justify it….

Next time those teams play and if Saints are doing a kneel-down, Dirty Birds gonna blow that the f’ up, haha!!!

There gonna be cheap shots galore next year with them….

Glad Jameis isn’t with us anymore….
His conment “ it’s all about the team. “ I’m just gonna IGNORE my coaches direction 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️…

  16. Joe Says:

Glad Jameis isn’t with us anymore…

Unless Dennis Allen gets canned, willing to lay cash Jameis isn’t with the slimy Saints next year.

  17. Bucfan1988 Says:

    Joe, wouldn’t be surprised either.

That dude still does not have his head on straight.

His career going up in flames 🔥…

  18. SlyPirate Says:

He’s not wrong but agents should instruct rookies to chill on public criticism. Don’t start with conflict if you’re building a brand. Negativity generally pushes people away. Example: Baker Mayfield. Fun-loving commercials and everyone still roots for him after years of disappointment. LBJ and MJ almost never say anything with conflict. They’ll only provide their opinion on hot topics after public opinion has been surveyed.

    Agree 100%. He’s a classless, clueless dimwit.

  20. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Note to Bucs. Don’t SH!T the bed in prime time games for all the world and voters to see to include the upcoming MNF Wild Card Game.

  21. Bucfan1988 Says:

Scotty in FA, totally agree!! Bucs, please show some testicular fortitude this year and don’t give us a mirror image of what happened last year against Dallas….

  22. orlbucfan Says:

I’m gonna figure out how to stay awake for this MNF game. It could very well be Brother Gene D’s last broadcast, and I’m NFL Radio all the way. D and ST are fired up. It boils down to the QB and Canales (ugh!).

  23. Greg Says:

Jameis… that dude has been told he’s a “natural leader” since he was six years old. He’s not and when he tries to be I just cringe. I feel the same way about Devin White. That false confidence thing they both have is just…. Ack.

  24. StickinUp4Centers Says:

The forced fumble and the sack by AW cost the Panthers 10 points, the Bucs O scored 9.

  25. Mike Goode Says:

Yaya is going to be a superstar in the NFL. That young man is Ballin. He is my favorite rookie.

  26. BucU Says:

Antoine is going to collecting a large bag this offseason. Couldn’t be happier for him. He’s a Lavonte type of guy. Does everything right on and off the field.

  27. MegaFailure Says:

    So young, so wise.

  28. Jerseybuc Says:

Fake jerseybuc get your own name poser. Been on this site for 10 years
Come on joes please crackdown on people using other people’s user names
Don’t you have policy on this?? One name one account right?

  29. Drunkinybor Says:

F the pro bowl I’m going to San Diego baby! From the Iconic Ronde Barber. I would love to hear his thoughts 💭💬 on Winfield being shafted.

  30. Drunkinybor Says:

NE fan question ❓⁉️ Has anyone ever told you that you should be a poet????

Yeah there’s a reason for that.

  31. garro Says:

Ya Ya deserves some votes from the same jckasses that dissed his man AWJ…. For DROY! 7.5 sacks etc. despite not getting the snaps he should have early in the season? No… these idiot homers have 10 other non Buc guys ahead of him!

    Go Bucs!

  32. Chrisonthecape Says:

Shows where this teams focus is right now
