Shaq Barrett’s Promise

January 7th, 2024

Ninety minutes from kickoff and Joe is dialed in on the words of a key Buccaneer who didn’t play last Sunday.

Bucs sacks king Shaq Barrett (healing groin) is healthy and ready to play today and he served up a promise to fans late last week.

“We can’t come out flat. I’m not gonna let that happen,” Shaq said.

Joe wonders if Shaq implied that the Bucs have shoddy leadership, or at least failed leadership on gameday last Sunday against the slimy Saints with the playoffs on the line.

Joe sure hopes the Bucs do show up today. There’s never a reason not to, but certainly not today. If the Bucs start very slowly against the Panthers, Joe thinks the team officials that greatly value leadership should reassess those they consider “leaders” on the roster.

It’s basically a playoff game. Win and you move on. If they can’t get up for this one, Bowles has got to be out on his ass tomorrow morning.

I am looking for both teams opening drives. It will tell us a lot.

This is week 1 of our playoffs!!

We need to see Shaq the game wrecker channeling his inner 2020 playoff energy!

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We’ve been in the playoffs for weeks.

The only thing left is to pick our next head coach!

So, if Mike Tomlin gets fired…do we hire him?

I gotta say, I want an offensive HC…but Tomlin is tempting.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

As to today’s game, I expect to win…but…last week proved this is not a playoff team. So, do we actually win today?

Gotta say, I would be happy either way.

  15. Mike C Says:

    LFG step 1 today!

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Jay Glazer says Bowles is safe, even if we miss the playoffs.

    Wow.

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Big Bill os not really an option, unless the Pats fire him instead of trade him.

total gibberish. IF we win today then we make the playoffs and thats what a playoff team is. Tired of you fake fans trying to take something away from the team that is theirs if they earn it – all to serve your hate because you rooted for Kylie boy..

You are officially kicked off the band wagon. NO re applications.

That is a given Joe. We have a few who consider themselves team leaders who should have spent most of the year on the bench with their mouths closed. Others need to be up in some teammates faces for the lack of effort and lack of intensity and they simply are not.

Funny to me that Brady was strongly criticized by some for his throwing a laptop and getting on some of his teammates during games. I think that for some reason we don’t have that kind of guy anymore in this locker room. I miss those kind of leaders.

    Go Bucs!
