Mike Evans Has Best Hands In The NFL (Sort Of)

December 21st, 2023

Killer stat.

Since Mike Evans was a rookie, the future Hall of Fame receiver always impressed Joe as having the best feet for a wide receiver maybe Joe has ever seen.

It is uncanny near the sidelines how Evans is able to get both feet down, often anything but a simple task. But in breaking down the best 101 football physical traits in the NFL, Matt Bowles lauds Evans as having the best hands in the NFL.

Well, not really hands, but hands are a major part of this trait. No receiver has better ball security after the catch than Evans, Bowen claims.

And the stat Bowen uses to justify Evans’ ranking is mindblowing.

Evans has 354 receptions since the start of the 2019 season — and he hasn’t fumbled once in that time. He simply doesn’t give up the ball.

So of all the plays Evans has made since the beginning of the Bucco Bruce Arians regime, he has yet to fumble. That’s insane for a guy targeted so much. That’s a streak of 75 games played, including postseason, that Evans has not fumbled. Crazy.

Now watch Evans go out Sunday against the Jags and cough one up since this feat has been flushed out.

We truly have been blessed as fans to have such a wonderful human being be the recipient of greatness on our beloved team. I pray he continues to have a wonderful career and life and that the joy Mike spreads to football fans everywhere continues no matter what happens this off season. Go Bucs!

It’s weird Joe, every time things like this are placed in front of us, statistics I mean, streaks come to an end. Announcers do that during games all the time referring to kickers and not missing. Sure enough, wide right.

Holy Jinx Bat Man! Gonna have to sacrifice an extra chicken this Sunday!

Wow that’s mind blowing really. I had no idea. Just another notch in Mike’s belt.
    He is a dawg!

  5. Mike C Says:

He has cleaned up the drops he had earlier in the season.

  6. Beeej Says:

He only seems to drop them in certain situations –uncontested, usually would have been huge gain or td

Big M1K3. Hope we re-sign him and he ties Jerry’s record with us!

He must have incredibly strong hands.

Mike had more than a few dropped passes during the first half of the season but has been much more consistent the past month or so…

I hope the Bucs are able to re-sign him this off-season and the price isn’t too high.

That lack-of-fumbles stat is mind-blowingly impressive. Wow!!!

Observing his style of play, he rarely gets blasted. He seems to know how to avoid those type of hits that jar the ball loose.

    Wow!!!

  11. Tim Says:

Best hands, sure. Maybe also the best at drawing DPI penalties. But best feet? I’d go with Cris Carter.

  12. Proudbucsfan Says:

We are truly blessed to have Mike Evans and it only took the Bucs 39 seasons to get someone of his caliber on offense he will be the first offensive player drafted by the Bucs to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Mike Evans is my favorite player all time and he isn’t finished yet. I’m rooting for him to pass Jerry Rice while he is still in a Bucs uniform. Amazing player and I’m happy to say I’ve watched every one of his games and got to see him live take over games in Raymond James Stadium.

There has to be a stat for DPI yards against a receiver. Has to be – right?!
