Dak Prescott, Brock Purdy And Baker Mayfield

December 25th, 2023

Among best in NFC.

Did anyone have this on their bingo card?

You could make an argue — and Joe is sure Bucs coach Todd Bowles will — that Baker Mayfield is a top-five quarterback in the NFC. That’s right. Consider the following:

When looking at touchdown-to-interception ratio, Dak Prescott of the Cowboys has the best at 4.3 in the NFC, as in for every 4.3 touchdowns Prescott throws, he also throws a pick.

Brock Purdy of San Francisco has a ratio of 4.1. After yesterday’s game, Mayfield has a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 3.3.

Yes, Mayfield. The same guy the Browns gave up on last year and the Stinking Panthers threw on the compost pile.

Mike Evans leads the NFL in touchdowns at 30-years old.

Rachaad White has developed into one of the most dangerous receivers in the league out of the backfield.

It sure seems Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales knows what he’s doing with players.

    Hell yeah, LFG! Go Bucs!

  2. David Says:

Baker 8-7 in NFC South as MVP ???? LOL. Bucs with Baker just defeated a team with the wining record for the first time this season. Baker has not defeated any legit team this season. The defense has carried this team all season not Baker. Hell NO.

  3. BUCS SQUAT Says:

David would ever rock you crawled out from under its time to go back we won’t miss you here

  4. Mark hardt Says:

wining record for the first time this…yep you are a winer not a winner

  5. Buc Fan in CO Says:

David: please point to the part of the article that suggested Mayfield is a top MVP candidate?

I hope you get some reading comprehension skills from Santa this year.

  6. David Says:

Keep dreaming Baker fans on your trash qb. Baker with his daddy, Toilet Bowl will be blown away in the first round if they even get there.

  7. godlovesbucs Says:

The d that gave up 375 air to ridder?

The d that gave up a TD with 45 seconds left to a rookie cj Stroud?

Even last week, love had a good game against the d.

The d has gotten us to 7-7. With a better d we are 9-5.

  8. Gipper Says:

    David,

You are always consistent. It is now apparent to all that you are disturbed.

  9. Austin Says:

Well I for one think we run this back next year and build on the roll we just got on. Without that slump, we are wayv above .500…. so I think we’re getting it figured out.. stats and eye test show baker is a bad ass and I dam sure want him as our quarterback. Then we can spend a little money to bolster our team… LVD is out GOAT, just wanted to end on that and hammer it home

  10. David Says:

I am always consistent on calling Baker a trash qb. Why ?? He has not proved otherwise in the past six years. I believe him if he start defeating teams with wining records on regular basis. It is hard to believe in Baker as Toilet Bowl did playing for four teams in six years. Real Bucs fans know this coach and the Baker are not the combo to take them to the promise land.

  11. An Erection for Sacks Says:

“When looking at touchdown-to-interception ratio, Dak Prescott of the Cowboys has the best radio at 4.3 in the NFC.” sic

Dak has the best ratio, not radio.

Ratios are expressed as numbers that are relative to each other, i.e., 4:3, 4:1, 3:1, etc.

    🌲Merry Christmas!🎄

    GO BUCS!!!

  12. godlovesbucs Says:

David- I don’t know if they are the combo. I personally felt Bowles should have been fired after Houston. I also am not a big fan of signing Baker to a market value contract. But can you not see what the team is doing now, and what he is doing now? Not for the last 6 years, this year. He is playing overall pretty well, and well above his contract. The D has not been too helpful either. If you throw darts at Baker this year, throw darts at the d for their play, especially Texans, niners, colts and eagles. Truth is, last two games this team has looked really good, handling business at home and on the road against decent teams.

  13. Let em Bake Says:

Well, let’s let purdy and Lamar cancel each other out tomorrow for mvp. Dak trending down. If bake closes these last two games strong…mvp is a real shot ( especially given how bad the bucs were predicted to finish this year). That 200$ bet I made on baker last august will pay 32K !! Blog drinks all around if it hits…even a sip for you, David 🙂

  14. Bucfan94 Says:

@David says the non real Bucs fan. Real fan ALWAYS SUPPORT THE TEAM. And your constantly trashing them. Disappear as a fake fan. You won’t be missed

  15. ‘79 Defense Says:

Good for Mayfield. Hope it continues for him. –Can’t believe the luck the 49’ers have had in what they are getting from Purdy. I wonder if it will continue over a lengthy career there.

  16. Chief Tbird Says:

Baker is a top 8-10 QB right now. Stats show it. The games down the stretch show it. This team is an easy legit 10-5 with a “good” defense. Now that they are starting to gel at the right time, those good teams they lost to earlier this year will find much more difficult to beat the Bucs if they play them now.
Anyone calling for a different QB either hates seeing this Bucs team start to succeed, or they simply no ZERO about football.

  17. Mark Says:

“Not beaten a team with a winning record”. We beat the Vikings in week 1 who had a winning record until their recent collapse. We also beat them when they were at full strength. When we beat the Saints, they were 2-1, I.e. a winning record. And now the Jags.

Yes we’ve had some shocking defeats (Colts, Texans) but neither of those were on the offence.

  18. MadMax Says:

Duh, we have our qb in place…..um so what do we do about Center….yeah

  19. MadMax Says:

Dont get me wrong, hes good but thats our main deficit

  20. Joe Says:

“Not beaten a team with a winning record”. We beat the Vikings in week 1

Vikings were 0-0 at the time the Week 1 game kicked off.

  21. Rossta Says:

Merry Christmas, Joe, and go Bucs

  22. Hey mang Says:

The balance this team is finding late in the season is scary.

  23. #99 the big fella Says:

David, your parents obviously let you back on the computer..sorry you got dropped on your head when you were a baby. It’s apparently effecting your common sense. You should probably go back to playing with your crayons and coloring book. Merry Christmas David hopefully you get better..

  24. Red86 Says:

It’s all about the wins. Baker had played very good as of late. Even proved my point from the 3tds and 100 something passing yard game. It’s doesn’t matter how good or bad the stats are. You must have tds to win. Hope he keeps this play up.

  25. ScottyMack Says:

Although I think that Baker is a perfect fit for the Bucs and said so at the time they picked him up before the season, I can’t come close to saying that he is the #3 QB in the NFC.

TD to INT ratio isn’t everything. There are 4 QBs in the NFC that most would consider better than Mayfield (meaning there are likely 11 that are worse or no better):

    Hurts
    Purdy
    Stafford
    Prescott

  26. Capt.Tim Says:

Canales is doing a great job.
Coach Bowles did an outstanding job in hiring him.

    Well done to both.

  27. BUCS4LIFE Says:

In Dave we trust! Go Bucs

  28. Wild Bill Says:

Got to say Baker has won me over. He is fearless and gives himself up 100%. And his pass accuracy lately has been impressive. Is he the best qb in the NFL? Nope. Is he playing at a top ten level now? I would say yes. As qbs go the guy is a head banger!

  29. Wayne perez Says:

    David is a moron

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Dave Canales has improved as the season has played out. He won’t be offered head coaching gigs yet, but I’m sure we’ll see talk of it.

  31. Beeej Says:

The team (including Baker) gets consistently better every week, not unlike the stretch run of ’20

  32. lanshark Says:

I keep hearing Baker’s record over the past 6 years, and somehow that makes him a “bad qb”. But Baker’s been on 3 teams – the HISTORICALLY BAD Cleveland Browns, the WORST in the NFL Carolina Panthers, and the lame duck Rams with ALL of their starting WR’s in IR.

Do you guys remember its a team game? There are 21 other players on the field, plus another 10-12 who participate regularly. IF Baker had been drafted by the Steelers or the Ravens instead of the Browns, the story would be much different.

All I’m saying is that a QB’s Won/Lost record is a product of the team they are on, not of the QB’s ability.

  33. D Cone Says:

Opening odds for Purdy was +2500 and is now -250.
Mayfield is currently +20,000, not in the top 20 and I doubt will move the needle much going forward.
Bucs have better odds to win a Super Bowl @ +8000.

Both are nothing but a nice thought or a dream.

  34. Stevego Says:

Dude David is hilarious. What site does he work for? Reminicient of Fox news style.

  35. BAKERSBucs says Says:

There was another post where David changed his post name it said blavid says I kid u not I saw that earlier today there were only 16 post on that jbs site

  36. Big Red Says:

Let’s hope the success continues but anything over 10m/yr for Baker is overpaying. I’d rather see what our 2nd round pick is made of during a full season than overpay for Baker.

Lesser teams have won superbowls with worse QBs than him, though. But salary cap priorities. Wirfs, Evans, Winfield, David. Hell, I’d rather resign Devin White to 15/yr than Baker at 15/yr. It’s all about potential. But I’m rooting for Baker. Just don’t wanna break the bank on an average NFL QB.

  37. StickinUp4Centers Says:

Drop Purdy off this list after last night.
