Chris Godwin, Vita Vea Are Active Today; Devin White Is Not

December 17th, 2023

Healthy scratch?

The Bucs published their inactive list for today’s game against the Packers and inside linebacker Devin White will miss his third straight game with a bum foot.

He last played at Indianapolis Nov. 26, after which White explained how hard it is for him to be ready for a game. He talked about “treatment around the clock.”

However, Stacy Dales of NFL Network reports Devin White is inactive today not due to any injury.

A healthy scratch for the former No. 5 overall pick? Joe will let your mind wander about this but remember what JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman said with confidence on his podcast two weeks ago — that White has played his last snap for the Bucs.

Others inactive are safety Ryan Neal, corners Carlton Davis and Josh Hayes, tackle Brandon Walton and defensive lineman Will Gholston.

Idk. News broke that its not injury related. Clean his locker out. Kid is done in Tampa.

  2. Beeej Says:

HMM. Are they insinuating it’s his FOOT, or something else?

  3. Davenport Says:

White should go in IR and clear out his locker.

    @Rover, source?

  5. Since76 Says:

Did white Quit on bowles or bowles Quit on White. What’s the deal.

  6. realistic-optimistic Says:

NVM, Joe’s update answered my question.

  7. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

They’ll probably play better without him.

  8. Dewey Selmon Says:

Just keshawn his a$$ for the rest of the year

  9. realistic-optimistic Says:

If Bowles is willing to bench DWhite, anything is possible. Remember Koetter refusing to fire Mike Smith until more powerful people forced his hand? This feels similar.

  10. Vea's Second Stomach Says:

Gotta see what other players who aren’t all about themselves can do. He can take his horses and ride his diva a** out of town. Bucs should throw him under the bus and let everyone in the league know that they will need to put up big bucks for a player that will quit on them when times are hard.

  11. Rover Says:

@realistic-optimistic from Ian Rapaport “ Per our @StaceyDales, #Bucs LB Devin White will not play, but it’s not injury related.”

  12. Scott Says:

Smart. Got 2 rookies on cheap deals playing better than him. I never thought Todd would bench his guy but here we are.

  13. Beeej Says:

He’s on the NFL.com inactive list, along with CD3, Neal, etc

  14. EternalSon Says:

I wish White well and am thrilled for the Bucs to move on from him.

If he never suits up for us again, that’s probably best.

    GO BUCS!!!

  15. EternalSon Says:

I give lots of credit to Bowles and staff for this!

  16. RagingBrisket Says:

Losing Will Gholston hurts a lot more. Packers are a physical running team and we will miss Gholston.

  17. EternalSon Says:

If white is sitting out bc he feels undervalued, good for him.

Free agency should be interesting for him to align his market value.

  18. Hunter's Crack Pipe Says:

How many of us were calling for Licht to trade him while he still had value. But nooooo. Now what have we got?

  19. Kory Says:

    He’s a quitter.

  20. SB~LV Says:

Bum will miss his 3rd game with a foot and mouth injury

Maybe his foot stuck in his mouth.

  22. Jack Clark Says:

    Who?

  23. Tbbucs3 Says:

Linebackers are falling off fast in the NFL. Devin White now joins Darius Leonard as former pro bowl LBs that fell off a cliff.

Also shout out to Will Ghloston, feels like he’s rarely ever missed games in the decade he’s been here……makes you question if some of these other guys missing games all the time are actually injured or “injured”

  24. SB~LV Says:

Git on your horse and ride out of town
He doesn’t want to put anymore busted coverage on the tape

  25. Joe in Michigan Says:

    Thank you! 🏴‍☠️

  27. Ultra ClodHopper Says:

The plane probably side stepped while he was getting on and he completely missed it.

  28. NJbucs23 Says:

Here’s your chance Britt. You patiently waited and worked hard behind the scenes. Britt looked lean and fast last week. Take the opportunity and run with it.

  29. ChrisBuc23 Says:

Get rid of Diva White 🗑️🗑️🗑️💩. And just shows how much more stupid we look for not trading him either. Smh stupid decision to keep him in our roster k owing we ain’t keeping him 🤬🤬

    —-

they gave him his boardng pass but he failed to wrap his hands around it.

  32. SB~LV Says:

We’ll be reading about in the papers by 2034

  33. RGA Says:

Hunter, I agree with you, if he was a malcontent then trade him before the deadline, a 7th round pick is better then nothing.

  34. Beeej Says:

One thing I read said that he IS in Green Bay w the team

  35. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Giddy-up mother effer!

  36. Buc1987 Says:

lol Dooosh…I was gonna say about the same thing.

  37. BucsFan81 Says:

I wanted Diva white traded in the off season. Either way glad he is gone. More money to sign Winfield and Wirfs. Also bring back Evans and David team first guys.

  38. BucsFan Says:

    Just win Bucs

  39. Cobraboy Says:

Dude made it clear he didn’t want to be a Buc anymore.

    What a disappointment.

    10/10 talent and a 3/10 brain.

  40. Bigbucfan90 Says:

I wish Tampa would’ve traded him in the beginning when it came out he was going to hold out, his intentions was to leave Tampa from the beginning of the season.

  41. Bucnjim Says:

You know maybe they tried to trade him and teams said hell no

  42. Beeej Says:

It was a logical decision to keep him:

#1, we couldn’t afford another starter ILB

#2 a dude in his contract year ALWAYS gives you his A game (see ME13)…which makes White’s performance this year even MORE odd

#3, we couldn’t have gotten much for him anyway, and will prolly get a #5 when he walks

  43. HC Grover Says:

    This game feels like….Blah

  44. Pelsbuc61 Says:

So why did he fly with the team to GB? Something is not adding up. Did D. White go all awol on Bowles like Talíb did a few years back?

  45. Buc4evr Says:

White isn’t going to get the contract he wants, so time for the Bucs to move on. Worried that Davis and Gholston are not in. Don’t think Vea is even close to 100%.

  46. adam from ny Says:

wow not the way to go out for a superbowl champion…

    this smells really bad
