Report: Saints QB Derek Carr To “Miss Some Time”

September 25th, 2023

Next man up?

Yes, the Bucs have a big game tonight hosting the defending NFC champion Eagles. But news broke last night concerning the Bucs’ next game in six days.

Quarterback Derek Carr of the slimy Saints went down yesterday with an injured right shoulder in the New Orleans loss to the Packers in Green Bay. While the exact nature of the injury is unknown, a slimy Saints source told Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk that Carr will miss some time.

When Carr left the game, he was replaced by Mr. Entertainment, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston. If Carr can’t go Sunday against the Bucs — and right now it doesn’t seem he will — Jameis should get the start.

The last time Jameis started against the Bucs in New Orleans, the Bucs beat the slimy Saints 20-10 in Week 2 of last season.

Joe doesn’t think much of Dennis Allen of the slimy Saints, a good defensive coordinator but over his head as a head coach. He wouldn’t start that two-bit wannabe wishbone quarterback Taysom Hill, would he?

Either way, the Bucs have the edge here.

Now back to Joe’s regularly scheduled Eagles hate.

Right now Saints appear to be not that great.
Undisciplined……and is anyone knows Winston, it’s the Bucs.
LOL Lavonte Divid knows his tendencies well.

Tonight will speak volumes about the Bucs.

If the Bucs can eat 2 W’s and go 4-0 I’ll change my name to
    Lovelorn for Mayfield

  2. Steven007 Says:

It was reported that he has an AC joint injury. Now I recently had an AC joint separation. If he has a separation, it is doubtful that he will go next week, particularly if it’s a grade two or three separation. However, if it’s just a sprain he may be able to go. Although I think he will have a hard time with deep outs or anything too far down the field if he does go.

  3. adam from ny Says:

    sheesh………….if we start 4-0 i’ll join the bandwagon 🙂

  4. Larry Says:

As I said: CONTENDER or PRETENDER?? We will al know this Monday night!

  5. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

All these easy games…how are we supposed to know if Mayfield will be good against tough teams?

I’m not going to buy in on him until I see him do well against real teams.

  6. Tye Says:

    Never root for an injury…

BUT on the bright side, the Bucs catch a HUGE break!

  7. Rod Munch Says:

How about getting through the MNF game before you dopes starting talking about being 4-0.

Now back to Joe’s regularly scheduled Eagles hate. ::: Lots of verbiage here, I love it! 2 bit wannabe wishbone quarterback—its all true Joe! lol!

    ****

Someone doesn’t know our history against backup QBs

  10. Fred McNeil Says:

We have a good history playing against Jaymiss. The only way he beats us is if he puts on a Buc’s uniform.

  11. steele Says:

Carr, Jameis both losing propositions. Carr has been and remains a loser, regardless of his condition, which is why Saints signing him was detrimental for them. Stick a fork in the Saints, easier pickings for the Bucs, who should beat them even if mediocre themselves. When Saints drop down to Taysom Hill and Jake Haener, they might do better, frankly.

  12. garro Says:

Still wonder if he ever realized what a clueless asshat most of his shenanigans made him look like. Eating Ws? Geez!

If a picture is worth a thousand words Joe…You could have posted that picture and nothing else and got away with it.

    Go Bucs!

  13. garro Says:

One of Jason’s best moves by far. Sending him to the Saints makes it that much sweeter!

    Go Bucs!

  14. UKBuccaneer Says:

Rooting for a win, but I’ll accept a tough, spirited loss tonight and a win over the aints next week. 3-1 would be a start that none of us predicted.

  15. D Cone Says:

Sub 500 on his second chance , replaced by a sub 500 on his second chance, playing a sub 500 on his third.

As of right now all 3 are two game over 500 with their new digs. Time will tell.

Will you see a 2021 Jameis before he slipped back to his old ways? Will you see a 2023 Baker before he slips back to his?

Jameis at 100% is better than Carr at 65-70 so I doubt Carr will be looking for a sling to get back out before he heals.

Right now the biggest concern is Philly.

  16. 40tds Says:

Joe, what are the odds of White and/or David getting a pick 6?

  17. Bucnjim Says:

I’m pretty sure they’ve gone with Taysom Hill over Winston before right? Not that they would now, but this two bit QB was once considered better than he is.

  18. TampaBayBucsFanSince1976 Says:

Not all games are equal in importance during the regular season. The upcoming division tilt with the Aints is far more important than the MNF game tonight. With this in mind , if Vea,White, or Davis are not 100% they should be held out for the upcoming game against New Orleans , no reason to risk losing any of the three for an extended period , especially with the bye rest following.

  19. Duane Says:

A lot of homer bravado in this post.

The Saints have always had the Buc’s number, they always get up for our games, and they have beaten us at home as well as in NO. Never take any team lightly (after all, but for a Shaq

  20. Duane Says:

After all, but for a Shaq Barrett pick six near the end of the game, the Bears could easily have gone down the field and won that game in the final minutes. The worst team in the league, according to many, on the road.

The other “worst team in the league”, the Arizona Cardinals, just whipped the Cowboys whom many in the media crowned as a juggernaut and the best team in the league.

Good one, joes. Still laffin’ half asleep. Approaching this MNF game very cautiously. Just want Bucs to play well, and not like that Denver horror in Miami.

  22. gotbbucs Says:

    Pro Bowl Alternate, Jameis Winston.

  23. BucU Says:

    SHOCK the world tonight Bucs!!!

  24. PSL Bob Says:

Joe says, “Joe doesn’t think much of Dennis Allen of the slimy Saints, a good defensive coordinator but over his head as a head coach.”

I think most people would say the same thing about Bowles. The question is how good is Carmichael, the person calling offensive plays for the Saints? And, considering the Saints gave up a 17-0 lead in the second half, I’m wondering how good the Saints defense actually is.

  25. Adam's Angry Says:

I swear, picking the Saints to win the South was the most gutless pick any sportscaster could make in the off-season. It was so safe and squishy and took absolutely no ba||s to make.

Bucs D can make a statement tonight.

  26. Bucsalltheway Says:

He actually played good yesterday and like many days here it wasn’t him who lost the game for the saints it was the kicker…jameis threw darts with heat on em yesterday. It could get scary michael Thomas plays with extra juice when jameis is playing and they have a young cb who plays good coverage and also blitz well yesterday got home quick on a cb blitz and got the sack.

  27. Chris Says:

S Marcus Maye suspension don’t help the Aints either.
Buccaneers are Going to SHOCK the World Tonight!!!
    GO BUCS!!!

  28. Infomeplease Says:

First things first!! Let’s figure out a way to win tonight!!

  29. de bucs fan Says:

Jameis as a QB1 is good for the NFL. Mr. Entertainment is accurate. Bring on the Jameis highlights playing Mahomes style. Someone is going to score on a Jameis pass. TO WHICH TEAM?! STAY TUNED!~!!

  30. Glass Half Full Guy Says:

Saints will also have Kamara back after his suspension so he’ll have fresh legs. I’d expect a run-heavy game plan regardless of the QB.

We have to see how well we do tonight against Philly’s ground game before we worry about Carr or Jameis next week.

Side note 1: Thank you Miami for “running up the score” against our old buddy Sean Peyton and the Broncos. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. Lol. Lots of Broncos fans whining about the Fins not letting up like they’re a bunch of whiny college coaches. This is the NFL. No lead is safe and if you don’t like it, stop them from scoring.

Side note 2: I caught the OT of the Colts v Ravens game. Wtf is wrong with CBS hiring Beth Mowins to do play-by-play? Had to turn the sound off. It’s like she studied every sports comedy movie’s exaggerated portrayal of guys in the booth to prepare for the job. It was like a female version of Bob Uecker from “Major League” without the funny. Wtf indeed.

  31. mark2001 Says:

Todd has seen everything that Jameis has to offer as a QB…his strengths and weaknesses. You would think the old D ball coaches knowledge would give us a distinct advantage. And he has some time to prepare for him in the D game planning.

  32. Joshua porter Says:

We’re always here for some f@&$ the saints time…..

  33. Craig Says:

Taysom Hill is going to be a tired puppy after that game.

Even with Carr in Hill has to play almost 30% of the snaps to pull the Saints out of a hole.

With Jameis in he will have to play about 50% of the snaps. Jameis still hasn’t figured out how to sustain a drive.

  34. SlyPirate Says:

    THEY’LL START HILL

If they are smart. The Bucs pass rush is insane. When the Bucs bring pressure, Winston will turn the ball over (INT and/or fumble). Starting Winston is conceding the win.

  35. Fishhawkbuc Says:

The human turnover machine will give us plenty of opportunities to take the ball away.

  36. TampaBayBucsFanSince1976 Says:

JW will be the starter, it has already been announced. Hill will have his package of plays , but the Saints offense has been a train wreck. Bucs score 20 and saints have no chance.

  37. Buckeyebuckchuck Says:

Carr is Andy Dalton 2.0, never figured out the tight window he could hit as a young QB has widened considerably with age. Threw a lot of stupid picks last year, especially late year. Singlehandedly lost to Pitt

  38. CHRISTOS Says:

As recent histroy tells us we should be worry of the Saints Defense and not their QB. They have a really good Defense

  39. Mike Johnson Says:

I laugh at you guys. We got 15 games left. We have not even beat philly and we have a rep for making back up QB’s stars. Don’t talk to fast. We could easily go 2-2. Just ask them Cowboys how they feeling after getting whipped by a team yesterday they knew they were going to beat.

  40. Aaron Says:

There y’all go now wanna see y’all come back from 17 with y’all’s QB still in the 3rd quarter lol
