The Creamsicles Are Officially Back!

It’s 1979 all over again.
The creamsicles are back, baby! And despite the scares from Lavonte David and certain NFL suits using charged words like “reimagined,” those beautiful orange jerseys with the white pants have returned.
The Bucs unveiled this morning the 2023 version of the creamsicles, not seen since 2012. And they look exactly how they looked back then, and back when the creamsicles were the official uniform of the Bucs.
A way cool video the Bucs produced is sort of a passing of the torch from Lee Roy Selmon to Derrick Brooks, Mike Alstott and Rondé Barber (who did wear the creamsicles in a throwback game in 2012) to the Bucs’ current stars Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antoine Winfield.

These turned out so good!!! Was worried when Lavonte said they were different from the ones worn in the past but these are perfect – everything I was hoping for and then some! And the promo video for these was insanely good if you haven’t checked it out I highly recommend it! 🙂

I was around in 1976. The Creamsicles are loser uniforms.The Bucs were weak and there was a lot of talk about how effeminate the pirate looked. I don’t get the nostalgia for losing. I say burn em and good riddance.

Joe, those are not the same uniforms as 1979. They are very close though. The socks are different. Maybe you caught that or maybe you didn’t.

Bucs lowkey have one of the better media teams in the league. The video was so perfect, and Alstott being the bouncer at the club was perfect. Just put my LVD uni in the cart and I’m questioning myself whether I’ll even wear this thing or not as I just might hang it up in my basement.

I wasn’t living in Tampa Bay or was a Bucs fan when the creamsicles were a thing. I didn’t become a Bucs fan until 2000 when I moved here. I could not care less about the creamsicle uniforms and all I see is a reminder of a failure of a franchise. In 30 years we should not want to have an alarm clock uniform throwback day.

I was a northern transplant that became a Bucs fan in 1987. I got a Vinny jersey expecting great things from him. I wore that jersey to high school and got picked on by the other northern transplants, for being an actual Bucs fan. This was all new to me as were the Bucs. Had no idea what I was getting myself into. Losing and more losing.

Boy, there are clearly some Bucs fans still triggered by the creamsicles!
I can’t help but think of the subtle (but perhaps unintentional) message sent by who was included in this video… LVD54 and ME13 are the mediators between Derrick Brooks (who’s our favorite player!?), Rhonde, and A-Train, and the future generation in Winfield and Godwin…
I would’ve loved to see Tristan Wirfs and Vita Vea in this video, too, or maybe we’ll get a second one with trench representation!!!

I was worried when I heard “re-imagined” if Nike was going to be involved….
They should have had our stars put on the Bucco Bruce helmets to complete the look – but these guys probably don’t have their personalized White helmets yet.

It’s still unbelieve that the team didn’t get these last year, because the lazy woke idiots at Nike said it was too hard to make them and required a longer turnaround time. If they had Brady playing in these, they’d have sold a million of them. It literally made me feel sick when I saw they had Baker showing these off. I’m not sure the reality of having that loser at QB really hit me until then.

Nike claimed they couldn’t get their Chinese slave labor to make these last year because of ‘supply chain issues’ – so yea, asking them to dedicate an entire factory to producing enough material to make a Vita uniform this early in the offseason was asking a bit too much.

Also the idiots in the PR department, who are such morons that they’re hiding the throwback uniform game on a Sunday afternoon vs the Lions as opposed to putting them on the Bucs in the MNF vs the Eagles – anyways, did those idiots in marketing even talk to the football side? Since when do the Bucs wear dark colored uniforms at home in a 1pm game in mid-October when it’s still going to be over 90 degrees on the field.

His career peaked with the “machine” story – that was over 20 years ago.
He seems like a nice alcoholic and I wouldn’t mind sharing a brewski with him but I am always amazed that he was able to make a career out of being a fat rich drunk.
I knew his father. Did business with Al Kreischer when I was developing land and building homes in Tampa… He was a good, smart man. But his son is a total dope…

Those unis remind me….–don’t remind me! I think all of Barry Sanders’s highlight films were against the Bucs. And poor Batman Woods was making $18,000 a YEAR (he told me this when I met him a few years ago). AND we had to buy popcorn so we would have a barf bucket in case we had to kick the ball.

I like them because orange is actually a color that associates with this area . I rarely look into the tampa bay sky and see red and pewter. I like the dolphins colors because it reminds of the ocean. Those hot september games with orange unis just seem to go hand in hand for me
